-------------------
When they decided they didn't want to make vmk a part of Toon Town, Pirates Online,
and Club Penguin's world, didn't they think about the
dedicated players who had spent a massive amount of time in research to master every
aspect of the game (ex: disneyonlineworlds)?

Didn't they think that vmk is just as serious to some people as any
other game out there?
-------------------

But that's not the point.

What's really upsetting is the fact that you spend
hundreds of hours trying to be the best at pirates,
trading like a lunatic, trying to rise up in society, you know,
just like everyone else.

Then one day, you open up that familiar green-
orange page and they tell you
"Game Over"
and you get that feeling like 'this isn't happening,
this can't all just dissapear!'

It gets even worse when you realize that it is, and you're
sitting there thinking "what happens next?"

What I don't understand is why Yavn and everyone else we've
worshipped all these years, aren't they fighting harder
to keep our kingdom, our world, our society
alive?

Because above it all, pinkpinknicole and vmk and pirates and trading and everything else-
it's all a part of me that will always be remembered when I look back
and think of my childhood- just as with thousands of other players out there.

what a dissapointment.

[CENTER]But as of right now, I have no intention on trying to convince them...
why waste time when you only have so much left to make the most
out of this?

Because there's always the chance that it's not a waste of time. Sure, Disney sent us one message saying they're not budging on their plans to shut down VMK, but... It's only common sense that they'd say no the first time. Try to defuse the situation and demoralize people, telling them "Stay in your place, fool."

But, nay. Sooner or later, every wall crumbles after enough hammering, yes? A lot of people think this is a waste of time, that "We're just kids" and we don't threaten them at all. However, the fact is, to a corporation, a customer's a customer, no matter the age. And, while the old saying "The customer is always right" is long since obsolete, the fact is is that the corporation makes money by pleasing customers. Enough unhappy customers means something needs to be changed.

In other words, no matter how young you are, the fact is, as the Open Source Resistance used to say, that "You have a voice. So use it."

Don't give up! Yes, it'll be a long month and a half, but we must continue to fight.

If we don't fight back, VMK WILL be gone, but what do we have to lose if we try?

It doesn't hurt to try!

You guys are so inspiring!

As of right now, I promise to do my best and fight for this 100%!

I felt the exact same way as if vmk told me that I had 1 month left to live. When I first heard about this, I was crying.

The powers that be expect us to just give up. They are counting on it. The response from Yavn was a pre-written response to try to get us to stop.
Truth is we are bugging them. They have taken notice! If nothing else we should be inspired to redouble the effort. Let them know we will not be told to just go away and except their decision. Power to the players!
Let us be heard!

Better start taking vmk.com off your homepage.

I'll do no such thing!

I refuse a game over. Absolutely REFUSE it!

Disney is getting pressure because VMK is closing, they still say they're gonna close it, but that's no reason to stop sending messages!

It's up to all of us! If we don't do something about VMK closing, nobody will!

Let's all fight back!

Now i have been playing vmk alot, and spent alot of time in getting rich, but ill get over it. It might be hard for some dedicated players butwho really thought this game would last for at least 30yrs? I am maad that they did this right before the summer. But oh well :D

Disney said no just to get us to shut up. They are afraid of what will happen if this gets on the news or something. Do NOT quit fighting!! As I said in another thread, one man (Walt Disney) started all of this; so if one man can do that much, think of what 10,000 people can do together!

I haven't been on VMK that much, and when I found out VMK was closing, my heart sank. I was so very disappointed in them, and I didn't know they actually meant VMK was closing. I am so depressed today after I found this out. But, do you really think we can start rebelling to get this over? Disney has made this decision... But I'm willing to fight as long as everyone is together. But if VMKForums closes down that will be the end of my life. I can't lose all you people to this! Everyone here is so nice and helpful, and you find people on here who have the same interests, and enjoy doing what you like doing, and their just funny sometimes. And I didn't know how much I'll miss VMK until now. I have to get on it right now to say goodbye, I don't know if I have enough time to say goodbye later. :(:(:(:(:(:(:(

Thanks VMK, for closing. You just messed up my day.

I am happy to see that people are fighting and ranting to try to get Vmk to stay, however, all things come to an end. Instead, of spending your final log-ins fighting the closing, spend it making the best times with your friends. When it was said that when they heard it, they felt like they had one month to live, while that is not true, you must realize again, do not take it sad, make it happy. As a certain Walt Disney once said, "Keep Moving Forward."

I just read the newsletter for the first time in ages, only to find out the VMK was closing. I am SOOOO mad now! VMK is a great game and so many people have been dedicated players. Like every has said, we've all spent hours trying to get rare stuff and be the best we can. Now we find out all that was for nothing, Yes, it was fun while it lasted, but it needs to last longer. VMK is the main thing I do on the computer and now who knowis what I'll do.
Also, what about the Disney Movie Rewards. We've bought movies to get points towards the VMK stuff that's going to just be gone forever. I know a few real things that I couldv'e used the points for.
If we all send msgs to VMK/Disney, we might have a chance of saving VMK, but it will take a lot. Every needs to contact them and let their voice be heard!
I thought that they made the miggest mistake when they got rid of the in-park part, but this is by far that BIGGEST mistake ever!

I haven't been on VMK that much, and when I found out VMK was closing, my heart sank. I was so very disappointed in them, and I didn't know they actually meant VMK was closing. Instead, of spending your final log-ins fighting the closing, spend it making the best times with your friends.

These two are not mutually exclusive, you know. Writing a letter to Disney takes about a half hour to an hour, at most. It's not all that hard to write while things are loading, before the Kingdom opens, or after it closes for the night, and still have time to party ;)

Don't stop the fun, but don't stop the fight either.

you would think that they would atleast work something out....... if the current
maintainers of the game aren't keeping up with disney's wants, find a way to change
the game around so that it makes both disney and the players happy.

honestly, i just want to be able to keep my hard earned stuff and virtual friends. i had
never once complained about the vmk staff or the way they keep control in the kingdom.

and if they think that THIS is going to push me to another disney game/money-maker,
then they're very wrong.

more or less this experience is going to prevent me from trying to start all-over again
with a new game and go through the experience of having it all taken away with a swish of a wand.

very dumb move, disney :P

agreed.
i have done the trials of POTCO and TT and I think they are horrible. They aren't anything like VMK and to really experience them, you have to play and that's not worth it.

and when yavn says things like "you'll enjoy the other games out there" it's like:
we're fighting for you and this world you've created, and you're giving up on us??

come on yavn, are you with us or against us?

Well, ya know, Yavn is with us. He didn't make the deciscion to close the game. WDIG did. Some people need to get that..

Why would the person who created the game want it to close?

I even bet WDIG writes Yavn speaks so it would sound like the icon of the game wouldn't care.
