(Mods I wasn't sure where to post this - hope I put it in the right spot)

So from time to time when I get overwhelmed with my current job I check out the job postings for the Disney Company. One particular posting caught my eye today and I thought I'd share some of what I found with you guys!

The job is to work for WDIG (Walt Disney Internet Group) as the Community Manager for their new game CARS. I think they made a typo and actually mean it is for the new Fairies game because this is what part of the description says:

We are looking for an experienced, creative and motivated Community Manager to manage community activity for Disney Cars Online, a new massively multiplayer online game for girls ages 6 -10 based on the popular Disney franchise featuring Tinkerbell and all her famous fairy friends.

So now we know the age group this game is aimed at. I wonder if CARS is aimed at boys 6 - 10....

But this is the part of the job description I found very interesting:

Monitor fan sites and interact with the community to serve as the voice of the player to marketing and product development

It is a known fact that VMK staff hang out on the forums, I just never realized it that it was part of their job!

Just thought I'd share that with you. Sadly I'm not qualified for the position - they're looking for someone with a lot of marketing experience. Actually, all the responsibilities in the job posting make me think that this job is actually the "Yavn" for the Fairies or CARS game.

I guess so - I mean that's what is/was so great about VMK...fun for everyone!

I think they made a typo and meant the Fairies game since they talk about Tinkerbell too.

I'm excited about the new Fairies game, does anyone know if it is a "Pay to Play" game?

Yeah adults don't count, just like what they did to all the Disney stores took out all the adult stuff! I guess when you grow up Disney kicks you out, but who do they think buys most of the stuff for the kids or teaches the kids about Disney? Just like taking VMK away for other sites is not right either!

I guess adults are "phased out" of online interactive games?Oh no, it's just assumed that all adults (as well as kids 11 and up) are going to be thrilled to play POTCO.

I dont think disney realizes how many adults and 11 and up ppl
play vmk or care at this moment
they are trying to give all to club penguin and pirates which has bad language on it whenever I have been on sadly
Pirates though popular now is only one part one ride at disney---
Why now would we join another of their games to delete us in another 3 years?
delete this is u must, and im sorry for meanness
but i personally dont think they are interested however
REMEMBER we have spending power if nothing else speak by
not supporting their online products since we are being sent to disney vault for ever!!!
