Nickpf 04-10-2008, 10:10 PM Alright, I guess it's over.
What the heck am I saying! Keep Fighting!
acefredfred 04-10-2008, 10:15 PM Contact the news! Rumble the newspapers! Do anything to keep our favorite game. Boycott going to Disney parks and boycott Disney movies! Anything to give them bad publicity! Keep up the good work everyone.
- acefredfred
wdmountie 04-10-2008, 10:16 PM Just because they sent a response that it not what you want to hear, don't give up. Keep up the letters. They are just hoping we will give up and move on to one of their other games. Tell them what you think of the other games and how much more you like VMK. You all have been doing so well. This is just one step. Time for the next step and keep reinforcing to Disney that you do not accept their reply. Good work people!
Cmkrebs 04-10-2008, 10:18 PM keep moving forward with vmk by adding new games and such! not get rid of it!
Wondermanforever 04-10-2008, 10:19 PM They still arent too clear as to why its closing.
If they give a REASONABLE reason as to why they are closing, i wouldnt be as furiated as i am now.
If its just for monetary purposes, then thats wrong.
They made over $700million last year from just internet games. Im sure keeping vmk wouldnt be that big of a deal.
EtnaGreen 04-10-2008, 10:22 PM If they are so overwhelmed by how many responese they had, why don't they keep it open? Seriously I hate all the lame excuses they give us..
sonic99979 04-10-2008, 10:24 PM That stinks... We want VMK not more games!!!
Zimonada 04-10-2008, 10:27 PM Really at this point, sending letters won't do any harm. The biggest fear by trying to save something is losing it; but we're already going to (as of now). So keep sending letters; it can only get better.
Best of luck,
- Zimonada
Misskayla 04-10-2008, 10:27 PM Disney and their 'moving forward'ness. VMK is just fine to me. There is no game they make that can compare, period!
Noelle 04-10-2008, 10:31 PM Not very encouraging news. They are missing the whole point. Sure they might develop a great new online game but without our friends it will never be good enough. :(
iLoveTheRain 04-10-2008, 10:35 PM You know, Meet the Robinsons was an extreemly unique and heart-felt film, and I'm really getting tired of them running it's theme into the ground simply because they were suddenly made aware of this convinient 'motto' that Walt once said, and now use it for eeeeeveeeeery thing. http://www.ilovetherain.com/Emote/DonaldWait.gif
They've decided, and they aren't going to change their minds. That's how they work. We just have to accept it, from their point of view, but I highly doubt that their next projects will get as equal and possitive a reaction as they are thinking that it will, because now we've learned what putting effort and time into a Disney game gets us: The eventual scrapping and deletion of the game. I won't be playing any of their newer games, as I strive to learn from my past experiences, and I won't be waisting my time a second time around. http://www.ilovetherain.com/VMK/Emote/DeadMe.gif
Shartruse 04-10-2008, 10:36 PM Hmm seems like we'll have to work harder such as contacting every site partially connected to WDIG about vmk. Maybe even contact the head honcho himself, Stephen Wadsworth.
dreamytime 04-10-2008, 10:38 PM They've decided, and they aren't going to change their minds. That's how they work. We just have to accept it.....
No that isn't how they work...
Remember when Epcot 25th, Disney said no plans they wont do it and look they caved in and did a special 25th celebration just because of a few hundred people.
They can change their minds. They have before and they will again. They just need to be reminded that we are not going to let it go because of some mass mailing.
Keep up the fight.
Haveamagicalday 04-10-2008, 10:43 PM If Disney keeps getting hammered with e-mails to keep VMK open, and that people are leaving their pay to play games, they will keep it open, it has been getting out of hand for them, people are contacting the news. Disney is getting a bad reputation on this, if they close VMK, they will have an overwhelming amount of people hating VMK, and that will spread.
Think about it, it's not over!!!!!
acefredfred 04-10-2008, 10:45 PM Keep up the work everyone! We can do this!
- acefredfred
iLoveTheRain 04-10-2008, 10:52 PM Remember when Epcot 25th, Disney said no plans they wont do it and look they caved in and did a special 25th celebration just because of a few hundred people.
I'm not aware of that situation, so I can't really comment on it. I had not even heard about it. :p I have, however, seen the suits of the corprate Disney discontinueing projects, altering policies, etc despite an immense outpouring of negativity. Perhaps in your situation they simply had not planned something, and threw something together at the last moment. That is really very different than starting the cogs in motion that will discontinue an entire project and back-peddling afterwards. I'm not saying don't fight...i'm just saying that we are not the first group to be wronged by Disney, to attempt to fight to change it, and to be completly ignored and placated.
MinniesDream 04-10-2008, 10:57 PM We cannot let this discourage us. We can keep fighting for what we think is right.
We have nothing to lose.
Haveamagicalday 04-10-2008, 10:58 PM We cannot let this discourage us. We can keep fighting for what we think is right.
We have nothing to lose.
Exactly!!!!

skipper 04-10-2008, 11:03 PM Wow.. I am crying, U all are still trying .. U all are thinking that this is not what Walt would want, I'm sorry, U all are doing what walt did NOT want, rebelling?? this isn't Bacon's Rebellion guys, please dont make it that way, Walt always said to move Forward.. u guys are doing the opposite, Yes there are MANY causes worth fighting.. but u all are fighting for the wrong cause, instead u all should be looking to the future.. obviously u aren't.. and by the way, when a TV show gets discontinued, this ussually happens, and its ussually way bigger, but guess what, It does NOTHING, I'm sorry guys, but u all are not building Walt's dream, ur really just building ur own..
bopper 04-10-2008, 11:04 PM My response to their response:
The whole "moving on" thing is cool for you, but not to the thousands of players who have worked hard in the Virtual Magic Kingdom to collect and obtain items, create rooms, quests and friends. Will you set us up with as much stuff as we had? As many credits?
No, you are telling me to throw away my hard work and PAY to start over! You have got to be kidding! WHy would I play any of your disney online games now that I know that they can be taken away at any time with no notice?
and also
Imagine your employer took your job away and said "That is nice you got up to Senior programmer or VP or manager, but we are arbitrarily telling you that you get to start over as a new employee." Everything you worked for? Gone. Oh, and you get to pay us to start over. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
Would you stand for this?
WALT WOULD NEVER DO THIS. NEVER.
You have "new paths" in the Parks, but I missed where you every CLOSED DOWN AN ENTIRE PARK! A new ride? Take away an old one? Sure. You did that in VMK too. Some rooms came, some left (Discovery Island), but the virtual park was always there!
andersla 04-10-2008, 11:06 PM Well I got the same response:
Hey VMKers,
Thank you for contacting The Walt Disney Company and VMK.
We have received an outpouring of feedback regarding our decision to close VMK. We are overwhelmed by the responses and enthusiasm of our guests, but unfortunately our decision to eventually close VMK is set. We have explored many different options, including a pay to play model but have decided to focus more of our time on our new virtual worlds coming soon, which we are sure that you will love as much as VMK.
Deciding to close VMK was a very difficult decision for us because we loved creating VMK just as much as you loved playing it. But in a company that encourages innovation and creativity we have decided to “keep moving forward” and exploring where the future takes as, because in the words of Walt Disney, “We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”
Thank you for being part of this journey with us, and we hope we continue to see you at Disney.com enjoying what we imagine next!
Sincerely,
Your friends at VMK
:Unhappy: BIG MISTAKE DISNEY - HUGE MISTAKE!!!!! DO NOT CLOSE VMK!
BeachCutie34 04-10-2008, 11:12 PM I'm going to email them but sorry how do I contact them again? If they close vmk, I'm NOT playing their "future" game that they want to replace vmk. I think there's more to the story and they're probably hiding something.
cteddiesgirl 04-10-2008, 11:13 PM keep moving forward with vmk by adding new games and such! not get rid of it!
Exactly!
Would they be "moving forward" by closing one of their real parks?
I don't think so.
This is a lame excuse.
I'm doubling my efforts.
ladycop67 04-10-2008, 11:15 PM Just got the same reply myself, must be sending it out to everyone that emailed them.
skipper 04-10-2008, 11:16 PM Guys, ur all fighting for an empty cause, its a simple and true fact, I love VMK with all my heart, but I cannot fight for an empty cause,
mikkimouse3 04-10-2008, 11:18 PM i got the very same response from WDIG.
They almost seem like they just don't get that it is the whole Disney magic and community that we want...that is what they are taking away and it will not be found on POTC or CLUB PENGUIN or TOONTOWN.
It is walking in the Magic Kingdom and chatting with your Disney-aholic friends that we are losing! Being able to dress up like a Disney Princess or Peter Pan or a Pirate and going into the Emporium to buy something just like at the Real park....that is what we want.
Save the KINGDOM!!!!!!!
Mikki : (
SkyRocket 04-10-2008, 11:19 PM Everyone. Call Every Disney number you know! Muahaha! Nobody join any other Virtual Worlds!! Dont give them what they want! OMG I have called 50 times in 2 hours.
TeddyYeti 04-10-2008, 11:19 PM If they are so overwhelmed by how many responese they had, why don't they keep it open?
Because it's a decision that's already been made.
skipper 04-10-2008, 11:21 PM i got the very same response from WDIG.

I agree with this, except , U want want u can't or dont Have, ALL THE TIME, this is the same case, and its proven in so many ways.. that u ussually want what u dont have ( unless its some dirty bug infested sock :mickey: )
wdmountie 04-10-2008, 11:24 PM Because it's a decision that's already been made.
yes but nothing is ever set into stone unless we accept it. as long as people keep trying to persuade Disney to keep VMK open, there is still a chance. and when tv shows are cancelled, people revoke, but most of the time they end up back on the air. maybe not on the original station but they do show up if enough people protest a decision made by only a couple of suit in an office. i say keep it up guys. you are making a difference. :mickey:

I got the same letter. ( - cries ):bawling::bawling::bawling:
princesstinkgirl 04-10-2008, 11:29 PM In my letter to them I quoted Walt Disney. They need to remember that he also said "I love the nostalgic myself, I hope we never lose some of the things of the past." Main Street USA was based on his childhood town. Clearly, Walt Disney respected the emotional ties people develop to places, it's a shame that the people running his company today do not appreciate these ties.
DisneyWhiz 04-10-2008, 11:29 PM our new virtual worlds
coming soon, which we are sure that you will love as much as VMK.
Yea right..
JustOh 04-10-2008, 11:32 PM Guys, ur all fighting for an empty cause, its a simple and true fact, I love VMK with all my heart, but I cannot fight for an empty cause,
We understand your opinion and your point of view, but if we dont try, there would be vmk, if we do try, they will consider bringing it back. Even if they do close it and they're other games fail like we all think they will, they can bring it back knowing people will come.
wdmountie 04-10-2008, 11:35 PM i just sent my letter to all the people again in response to that email. :)
Just reply to this letter with you letters again and resend it to everyone on your lists. Don't accept this from them.
princesstinkgirl 04-10-2008, 11:35 PM I got the same response. :(
madamecat 04-10-2008, 11:38 PM Just received that same letter from 2 different Disney Depts. What a crock of..................I wrote them back and told them so and that we, the players, are NOT giving up this fight.
PS: Read it closely, typos in that stock canned response. Does no one proof read at Disney?
Shartruse 04-10-2008, 11:43 PM Wow..
We can do what we want. Trying to discourage us won't make a difference. It's rude how you are acting like our opinions don't matter. Maybe there's a problem with life for some of us that only vmk can solve.
BestDana 04-10-2008, 11:46 PM Ok, really, props to you all for doing everything you can to keep VMK open. There's nothing wrong with sending Disney letters and speaking up for what you believe is the right path to take.
However, I really am beginning to get worried when people start talking of boycotting Disney and its movies, and contacting news stations in order to get bad publicity for Disney. I mean, that's just going a bit too far. I understand that we all made great friends through VMK and we all have some amazing memories, but don't take it all out on Disney who allowed us to play this game in the first place, and for no charge at all. The last thing we should be doing is attempting to get Disney all the bad publicity possible. It's not what Walt Disney would have wanted, nor is it making us look like respectable, dedicated, kind players who just want one of their favorite games to stay open.
I'm all for the letters and emails, but there's a fine line between peacefully protesting a game's closing, and a full out vindicative rebellion.
TripleM 04-10-2008, 11:53 PM Next time I go to WDW, I am going to tape a sign that reads "Bring Back VMK!"right onto the enterance sign to former VMK central, and I will protect it from being taken down, and I will get people to chantBring back VMK, and I don't care if i am arrested, becauseman, am I ANGRY!
papersouls 04-10-2008, 11:54 PM I just received the same letter as well.. the entire thing just does not make any sense to me, and really puts a damper on my Disney relationship.. i've always been a huge disney fan, and heck i still will be after all is said and done, but it really does make me sad to see it go.. i just wish they would give us the real reason, and not this *promotion* garbage they keep speaking of.. how many promotions do you know of that they would go out and make multiple pin sets (space mt, tiki, pirates, older pirates, etc..) to sell in the parks, for a world they were only going to close down? almost 3 years later no less.. its sad enough the world is a money hungry place, and anyone of us that had been to any o f the parks know Disney is after the cash too, but this is just plain silly..
all i know is, next time i walk past the disney store and want to take a look around, i'll keep walking and use my money for something else.. same goes for their online store.. and i'll never pay for a game online.. next time i go to the park (cant give that up!) i'll think twice about adding that pin to my collection.. if disney cant give us this little thing (and really now, we dont have THAT many members that they cant keep this open) why should i continue to be a *valued customer*? i almost wish i had an order placed that i could cancel, just to have them mark down *because you're closing VMK* as the reason for the cancelation..
its still too early for me to say my goodbyes, so hopefully no one is running out the door just yet.. we have one month left (and hopefully they do not turn around like they have been lately, and give us news of an early closing) so lets just enjoy it and look back on all the fun we had.. i would love to see it stay open, but i truly believe its pointless as they have their minds made up.. its nothing to them but a game, and they are only seeing green.. either way, lets show them how much we really do love the place by sticking in there till the end.. i have one last quest up my sleeve, i just hope people will play it.. ;)
wdmountie 04-10-2008, 11:56 PM Next time I go to WDW, I am going to tape a sign that reads "Bring Back VMK!"right onto the enterance sign to former VMK central, and I will protect it from being taken down, and I will get people to chantBring back VMK, and I don't care if i am arrested, becauseman, am I ANGRY!
I would just tape the sign to the back of your shirt all day. I don't think they would throw you out of the park for that. I don't want you to actually be banned from every coming back to the park again. Once you are arrested you will typically be banned from the park and will need permission to come back on property. I don't think you would want that.
mrmyth 04-10-2008, 11:59 PM Ok, really, props to you all for doing everything you can to keep VMK open. There's nothing wrong with sending Disney letters and speaking up for what you believe is the right path to take.

This is exactly the steps to take to get heard. They see most of us as kids and pay little attention to our desires to continue the game. Sometimes we need to speak up in any way that gets notice.
At least with a response being sent out they are getting our message. The response is an attempt to quiet us down - offer no hope.
If anything the response should get everyone's efforts doubled! We have been noticed so let's keep it up!
The only thing that can happen wrong is they will continue with the present direction of closing VMK.
And I think Walt would be impressed by the support and love we have shown for our little Disney world!
funny_ryry 04-11-2008, 12:01 AM I incourage all of you to keep fighting for VMK but, I just have to say that his letter was nicely put. :)
People please don't get carried away!
Pisces 04-11-2008, 12:06 AM I got the exact same letter  it's like if it has VMK in it that's the automatic response... that means they're tired of complaints! we're almost there!!!
OmButterfly 04-11-2008, 12:07 AM This is not going to make me give up, this is going to make me fight harder!!

People have brought back cancelled shows before as recently as last year with a show on CBS called "Jericho" -- people sent the powers that be Nuts. The powers that be, relented, albeit for a shorter than normal season, but they caved to the demand. So it is possible to change the high-ups minds.
MLKnCookies 04-11-2008, 12:11 AM Is "Keep Moving Forward" their excuse for everything?
OmButterfly 04-11-2008, 12:15 AM Is "Keep Moving Forward" their excuse for everything?
I think it is! Oh Walt, why did you have to say that? Why couldn't you have said something like "Always keep popular things opened"?!
But seriously, "Keep moving forward" doesn't mean you have to get rid of everything you just created. It could mean keep adding new things to VMK!!!
spot41414 04-11-2008, 12:22 AM This is exactly the steps to take to get heard. They see most of us as kids and pay little attention to our desires to continue the game. Sometimes we need to speak up in any way that gets notice.

Actually, this is not the way to get what you want.
Being melodramatic makes you look plain pathetic.
VMK, granted we all love it very much and have many memories, is a virtual game. Don't say it's more than that, because if you think it’s “more than a game,” you really need to get your head examined.
It is a game. It was always intended to be a game. That’s it.
I believe Walt would be shaking his head and laughing, actually...
They’ve already stated numerous times that they are going to close VMK, but have thanked you for your concerns.
Stop wasting your time.
VMK’s over.
Deceased, croaked, departed, shuffled off its mortal coil, bought the farm, slain, fallen, bit the big one, dead as a doornail, gone, out of business, late, lifeless, taking a dirt nap, kaput, worm food, cashed in its chips, finished, lapsed, pushing up daisies, terminated, inanimate, kicked the bucket, past its expiration date, nonliving, checked out, left the building, bitten the dust, passed away, passed on, isn’t-coming-back-for-the-sequel dead.
Get it? Got it?
Good.

The only pathetic look is rolling over and putting your legs up like a whipped dog.
Some have what it takes - some are willing to tuck their tails between their legs and scurry off.
Get it? Got it?
Good.
There are many parts of this that were a game, but the friends I made will continue on past this. I guess to some it is something else.
Head in no need of examination - sometimes you follow your dreams.
slinkyman 04-11-2008, 12:32 AM As many have said - this is the beginning.
Now Disney is taking notice of what is happening and this will be questioned within Disney - this is where we need to keep fighting strong, we might have a chance! :)
(for those who want us to stop - we are fighting in something we believe in, which will never stop us, so please let us continue)

So in other words you can easily shake you head and say - it's only a mouse. why do people get so emotional over a mouse? cause that is what essentially created disney. a FICTIONAL character. people became attached to this fictional character. and I don't mind saying it at all - I would be devastated if they stopped making mickey mouse cartoons. I would be picketing outside of the doors trying to get mickey back. same goes for vmk. yes, i did also become attached to this "mickey mouse" inspired game. and I personally do think everyone is doing the right thing standing up for something they have become attached to.
i do not discount your beliefs, but please do not belittle the beliefs of the vmk players trying to save something they DO feel so strongly about.
Also to add to this matter - did the founders of America give up when England bombarded the colonists with new laws and regulation? I think not. Americans stood up and fought to obtain this great nation. Did MLK give up with the fight against segregation? I think not! Did Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony give up to gain the woman's right to vote? I think not! Granted all these examples are way beyond the importance of a virtual game, but the point is we are in America and sometimes you just need to stand up for what you believe in. All these now historic figures were laughed at when they made their stands, but things changed for the better with their stances.
I say GREAT WORK VMK PLAYERS! KEEP IT UP!

If you have met Yavn. Did he seem suspicious? And can you personally contact him?
monniedisny 04-11-2008, 12:43 AM Disney is always moving forward and take one thing away and put something else, but doesn't ever close an entire park down thats just not right, and then to say pay to go to the park and get quest stuff or pay to buy pins to get stuff and then pay for movies to get stuff and then just take it all away from us! and I got the same letter to tell me to pay to play their other sites WHY if they are just going to take it away again! I think they will be sorry for this bc the people that have those memberships that they are relying on for toon town, potc and club penguine will be canceling them and not reneweing bc most play those and this, and if do this to VMK they will not want anything to do with Disney, and as far as bad press for Disney well they brought this on themselves. I hope they wake up and realize this is not right and not even making this a pay to play they would make so much money if thats all they are after, which is wrong but to just take this away period and say ok you lose all your money you spent on this and your time and now go pay to play our other stuff! Do they really think people will be happy and do that NOPE. So besides writing and calling you need to stop paying to play all those other sites that they think are so much more important than this one.
ACECpt.RICH 04-11-2008, 12:45 AM Congratulations everyone, VMK and Disney is already overwhelmed after only three days!
EtnaGreen 04-11-2008, 12:45 AM Actually, this is not the way to get what you want.
Get it? Got it?
Good.

If vmk is just a game, then WDW is just a theme park. Vmk is wonderful system that lets you communicate with countless people around the world in a matter of seconds, yea vmk is still a game. but its a game with alot of depth to it.

slinkyman 04-11-2008, 12:48 AM Ink,
If you have met Yavn. Did he seem suspicious? And can you personally contact him?
That was close to a year ago - so of course not. I do not think VMK has known about this closing for very long. My guess is that it was brought up in a VMK-Disney meeting a few months ago. Contacting anyone for/from VMK will not help, VMK doesn't want to see the game go either. This is yavn's game - I am sure he is fighting for it too.
Rellie 04-11-2008, 12:51 AM I am a DVC member, Annual passholder ,Disney dining, disney rewards
member , I renewed my wedding vows in Disney world, our son just got
married there and I am a stockholder. Along with many many Disney
purchases for my self and Family members . My one relaxing moment in my
work day is to go on VMK for a couple of hours and get that great Disney
feeling that makes me want to be there sooner , now it is being shut
down shame on all of you !
Their response to me is the same as everyone elses:
Thank you for contacting The Walt Disney Company and VMK.
We have received an outpouring of feedback regarding our decision to
close VMK. We are overwhelmed by the responses and enthusiasm of our
guests, but unfortunately our decision to eventually close VMK is set.
We have explored many different options, including a pay to play model
but have decided to focus more of our time on our new virtual worlds
coming soon, which we are sure that you will love as much as VMK.
Deciding to close VMK was a very difficult decision for us because we
loved creating VMK just as much as you loved playing it. But in a
company that encourages innovation and creativity we have decided to
"keep moving forward" and exploring where the future takes as, because
in the words of Walt Disney, "We keep moving forward, opening new doors,
and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading
us down new paths."
Thank you for being part of this journey with us, and we hope we
continue to see you at Disney.com enjoying what we imagine next!
Sincerely,
Your friends at VMK
Someone should get the Address of Roy Disney
The stockholders saved him !
:wave2:Always, Rellie
BestDana 04-11-2008, 01:07 AM The only pathetic look is rolling over and putting your legs up like a whipped dog.
Some have what it takes - some are willing to tuck their tails between their legs and scurry off.
Get it? Got it?
Good.
I was not under the impression that Spot was "rolling over and putting [her] legs up like a whipped dog". I was more under the impression that she prefers to stay realistic, that she's grateful for the time she's had on VMK, and isn't as blatantly addicted to this game as many of the people here seem to be. She's not giving up, because she never started fighting. She just believes that this isn't worth all the fuss and the drama and what not, and I actually agree.
Oh, and pathetic, by definition, means "to cause or evoke pity or sympathetic sadness". So really, it's an extremely relative term and open to interpretation based on the values and opinions of a person. Pointing that out serves absolutely no purpose, but I just felt like I should throw that out there, since VMK closing is apparently an extremely touchy subject and people (including me, I'm sure) are interpreting things others say in different ways.
gabyta 04-11-2008, 01:07 AM All of us received the same response.. of course! they needed time to create a letter that covered every concern of each player.
Oh well.
PrincessAnnO 04-11-2008, 01:28 AM thousands of players have worked hard in the Virtual Magic Kingdom to collect and obtain items, create rooms, quests and friends. Will you set us up with as much stuff as we had? As many credits?
you are telling me to throw away my hard work and PAY. WHy would I play any of your disney online games now that I know that they can be taken away at any time with no notice?
Imagine your employer said "That is nice you got up to Senior programmer but we are telling you that you get to start over as a new employee."
Interesting. And, I so agree with you! Why in the world would I ever begin a PAY to PLAY (other than vmk) to see what I have paid for taken away from me because something new and supposedly better comes along. Nope. Not going to happen. Although Cars, Fairies, Pirates, and cute little penguins are nice, I've never gone out of my way (and never will) for any of those. VMK was a park experience for when I was unable to get there at the end of a long day. It encouraged me in purchasing all things Disney. It was one big ad and I liked it that way! Not gonna pay for anything new on-line Disney unless it's pay to play vmk!
yes but nothing is ever set into stone unless we accept it.
This is exactly the steps to take to get heard... Sometimes we need to speak up in any way that gets notice.
At least with a response being sent out they are getting our message. The response is an attempt to quiet us down - offer no hope.
If anything the response should get everyone's efforts doubled! We have been noticed so let's keep it up!
As many have said - this is the beginning.
Now Disney is taking notice of what is happening and this will be questioned within Disney - this is where we need to keep fighting strong, we might have a chance! :)
(for those who want us to stop - we are fighting in something we believe in, which will never stop us, so please let us continue)
Congratulations everyone, VMK and Disney is already overwhelmed after only three days!
Yep. If they were prepared for this kind of response, the letter would have been set and ready to go day 1. They didn't see this coming. Doubling the effort right now is the things to do. Do we have a hope? Not if we give up!
This is yavn's game - I am sure he is fighting for it too.
As I said in one of my other posts....VMK is yavn's baby. And, there is no way a parent ever wants to see their baby dying.
No one ever got anywhere without trying!
Oh, and BestDana, She's not giving up, because she never started fighting. She just believes that this isn't worth all the fuss and the drama and what not, and I actually agree. ah, if you don't care this much, why are you reading the threads and sticking around the forums? Just wondering....
DudeRiku 04-11-2008, 01:29 AM I don't know about you guys, but it's kinda annoying to hear "Well if Walt was here.." Getting thrown around a lot by everyone. We can't say what Walt would do in a situation like this, because he's not here. Sure you can speculate, but I can say he'd tapdance around a pinata, and my guess would be as spot on as anyone else's. People should just stop using him as an excuse, or a way to make their cause seem right. But hey, it's just my opinion.
As for the letter and VMK closing, I just feel ut's a bad move on Disney's part. It'd be such a shame to see Vmk go. Cars, pixies, pirates online, club penguin, and toontown all don't have that one thing that vmk had that drew me to it: It was like another DisneyWorld/Land, but always there for you, so you can experience the magic at home. This is what made me love Vmk. And I don't want it to just fade to a memory.
spot41414 04-11-2008, 01:31 AM There are many parts of this that were a game, but the friends I made will continue on past this. I guess to some it is something else.
Head in no need of examination - sometimes you follow your dreams.
…So your dreams lead you to some site on the computer?
That’s nice.
Dreams are important, but they need to be somewhat grounded.
You need to have one foot on the ground and one foot in the sky.
Let’s say VMK does stay open. What have you accomplished, really?
More of your life being wasted sitting in front of a computer screen and barbequing your eyes?
Really, I was upset about VMK closing, but now I think it’s probably a good thing. Some of you are so obsessed with the game, and you’re treating it like reality.
The friends you met on VMK are just that—friends you met on VMK. You know nothing about them, and they know nothing about you. The person on the other end of that conversation could be a ten-year-old girl, or a forty-six year old man.
Don’t work towards friendships that are never going to come out of the computer. It’s a waste of time.
But, I'm getting off-topic.
I'm really sick of hearing about peoples’ dreams. This is not something you should really be putting a great amount of effort to.
Also, I feel very bad for Martin Luther King Jr. and all of the other heroes you’re comparing this… “Battle” to.
First of all, they had strategies. You’re just trying to scare Disney into giving you what you want.
Another thing—following your “dreams” isn’t always the best thing to do.
Look at the Cherokee!
They sued the government for evicting them from their land and won the court case.
Then the government used the army to kick them out anyway.
All following their “dreams” led to was a bulk of them being killed.

DisneyPenguin 04-11-2008, 01:38 AM I really think they should explain why they can't keep it besides it was opened for the 50th anniversary of WDW.I mean come on.Disney is making lots of moola from VMK from people buying promotion cards and thing like that.I mean, seriously!

Woah,that is deep
Thinking about it, no matter what you do they're going to close the doors .This really is no battle compared to what famous heroes did to save peoples lives.Yeah sure VMK had memories and we wasted money and time and well, sleep.Thats what screen shots are for.We can't make this that if VMK closes the world is ending. This is not nearly or even as bad as what some people did. I am not saying give up , It really is sad that VMK is your dreams though.
Good point Spotty:-)

One dream can be to continue to play a game that serves as an outlet to stresses in the real world. What have we accomplished? - Seems obvious if it continues.
…More of your life being wasted sitting in front of a computer screen and barbequing your eyes?
Really, I was upset about VMK closing, but now I think it’s probably a good thing. Some of you are so obsessed with the game, and you’re treating it like reality.
Each have their own VMK habits - Some are at different places in their maturity as to being handle both the game and the outside world. Try speaking to just your own needs, since you have no idea of others.
…The friends you met on VMK are just that—friends you met on VMK. You know nothing about them, and they know nothing about you. The person on the other end of that conversation could be a ten-year-old girl, or a forty-six year old man.

Actually I have met several people from the game in other places and many a friendships have been made. (Wow, and I was still able to balance my friends near by, family, and business contacts. I'm sure that must sound unbelievable to accomplish..unless you had a brain and a life.) Perhaps some have better social skills than others in life.
…But, I'm getting off-topic.
I'm really sick of hearing about peoples’ dreams. This is not something you should really be putting a great amount of effort to.
Who are you to decide for others what effort they want to devote to anything? Easy way to not be sick of hearing of other's dreams..
…Also, I feel very bad for Martin Luther King Jr. and all of the other heroes you’re comparing this… “Battle” to.
First of all, they had strategies. You’re just trying to scare Disney into giving you what you want.
This has nothing to do with King's great work - but perhaps he inspires others still.
…Another thing—following your “dreams” isn’t always the best thing to do.

Tail in position? - good. Yes injustice in the past says you should just let it happen over and over. Why fight the inevitable - unless you are not afraid to try for change.

Um, bad example to use. Fighting for your existence - your livelihood, your land is not the same thing as "following your dreams".
BestDana 04-11-2008, 02:13 AM Oh, and BestDana, ah, if you don't care this much, why are you reading the threads and sticking around the forums? Just wondering....
Honestly, I really do love VMK. I'll gladly admit that it did help me through quite a few tough times, and I made some really good friends because of it. However, I don't think that all of this drama is needed. I'm reading this thread and sticking around the forum because, despite the fact that I'm not fighting to have VMK stay open, I am curious as to people's reactions to VMK's closing, the reasons some are waging this "war", what they're trying to do to keep VMK open, and what the consequences of said actions will be. I have to admit, I'm quite surprised as to how many people are so obsessed with the game though. I do have as much of a right to state my opinions as you all do yours, you know. I suppose we must agree to disagree.
Tail in position? - good. Yes injustice in the past says you should just let it happen over and over. Why fight the inevitable - unless you are not afraid to try for change.
I know this wasn't addressed to me, but as I agree with Spot, I thought it might as well be.
Which tail are you talking about? Because I have several.
Tris-Remix 04-11-2008, 02:25 AM Oh so they didnt want to close vmk? Then why did they? More virtual worlds? Like what? Atleast they responded ;)
autoalice 04-11-2008, 02:27 AM Love form letters :( Got mine today as well.
"Keep moving forward" except for beating the cash cow that is the Princesses and pimping out Tinker Bell endlessly and milking Cars and Pirates for everything they're worth, making very few new movies and just dumping out sequel or prequels of the stuff they know can bring in the cash.
Disneyland park isn't something that brings them in money?
Sorry...I am so bitter about all of this. I apologize if this is a bit bad and rantish. Believe me, I've left out so much.
TheFireworkZach 04-11-2008, 02:33 AM Contact the news! Rumble the newspapers! Do anything to keep our favorite game. Boycott going to Disney parks and boycott Disney movies! Anything to give them bad publicity! Keep up the good work everyone.
- acefredfred
I'll boycot the Disney movies over almost anything as they aren't very good (or atleast the more recent ones) but as for the parks, VMK isn't that important at all for me to boycot the park. I would rather see VMK go any day of the day, week, or year then to just not go to a Disney park.
They aren't going to change their mind, it's over, I think you guys need to try and be able to find a place where all of your contacts can meet as like I said before, I think staff will have a little bit more sympathy now that VMK is closing now.
I also got a question for some of you people, do any of you guys NOT have a life outside of school, VMK, and VMKF because I have seen some of these people on this site almost every single time I get on and I kinda feel bad for you guys how your life is truely half dead after VMK leaves the internet for good in about a month and a half. I don't want to seem Mr. Negative here but some of you guys are acting as your life is over but really, VMK isn't even something you can touch, just try and keep in touch with your friends and I don't think there is anything to be sad about.
- Zach
Pisces 04-11-2008, 02:33 AM It does NOTHING, I'm sorry guys, but u all are not building Walt's dream, ur really just building ur own..
Well I believe that my dreams are important too, just because I'm not famous or popular or anything like that doesn't mean I can't try for my dreams... That's like saying that I wouldn't let you try to get whatever you want most just because I think something negative about you.
Anyway, like princesstinkgirl said:
In my letter to them I quoted Walt Disney. They need to remember that he also said "I love the nostalgic myself, I hope we never lose some of the things of the past."
Part of Walt's dream was to allow people to keep things from before, and I definitely believe that keeping VMK applies
NOTHING is going to stop me from trying to keep VMK alive
MinniesDream 04-11-2008, 02:38 AM Whenever I think of Disney World, I get this tingly sensation in my stomach, and I think of the wonderful time's I've had there. I have a Mickey Mouse tote bag I bought from our resort, and I use it for my bookbag at school. I love everything Disney.
When my friend told me about this game, I tried it, and I instantly fell in love. I joined back in beta, and had a few different accounts. I've always loved getting out of school, eager to get on this amazing Disney game with all of my friends! I didn't have to use the phone to talk to them; I could go on virtual adventures with them. It took me away from the school life; the hardships of it all.
When I got older, so did my friends, and they grew out of Disney games. I, however, kept hanging on, and always loved the magic that Walt brought to this world. It makes me teary-eyed when I think of all he has done for us. I remember a notable conversation with my friend.
"Have you ever wondered if Walt Disney is watching over us?"
"Yeah, sometimes."
"Is he proud of this game that reflects his parks, do you think?"
"I'm sure he is, Dani. He loves it."
Then my friend hugged me.
The thing was, we were fighting. Walt brought us together; the game did.
It's more than a simple game to me. You may think I'm crazy, but I'm not. I love Disney, and I always will!
Kitri 04-11-2008, 02:39 AM Psh, they still don't give us a reason why it's closing. They just tell us that it was an advertisement. Which we already knew.
DarthMelissa 04-11-2008, 02:43 AM Did anyone else notice the similiar phrases used in this letter and in the new Yavn speaks?
mrmyth 04-11-2008, 02:47 AM Did anyone else notice the similiar phrases used in this letter and in the new Yavn speaks?
Yes a carefully non-threatening, promoting other sites response.
Like he was not contacted and told to stop the madness? Why are these kids e-mailing and calling us? Get a letter out to thank them and stop!!
LOL
etain 04-11-2008, 02:47 AM Did anyone else notice the similiar phrases used in this letter and in the new Yavn speaks?
I have to admit I did. Which makes me think Disney may have given Yavn something canned to say on the newsletter.
Pisces 04-11-2008, 02:47 AM Did anyone else notice the similiar phrases used in this letter and in the new Yavn speaks?
Yes! They're just repeating themselves! It's not explaining anymore, it's like all they can say is to "Keep moving forward..." It't not like staying firm on their decision is going to make most of us give up
Oh and sort of off topic, but did anyone else notice that Yavn signed the last Yeti safety thing in the newsletter?
DarthMelissa 04-11-2008, 02:57 AM Exactly! Canned response.... glad I was born yesterday so I wouldn't notice that. It's irritating that they think giving us something as lame as "the promo is over" will be good enough of an explanation.
If I lived anywhere near the offices in CA, you better bet I'd be down there in a picket line. Anyone want to join me?

Well problem with that is that you would need permission from the county to protest peacefully. However, seeing as Disney is private property, you may just be escorted off the grounds or arrested. So I would not suggest a picket line for this. I do not want to see children being hulled off in mickey hand cuffs - lol.

Dear ,
Wow, that's such a lame form letter they sent me. The "Dear" part was at the end, with a space for them to fill in my name, which they didn't bother to do anyway. :RedFaced:

CapnOlaf 04-11-2008, 03:12 AM "We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths."
To quote Walter Elias Disney myself:
"To all who come to this happy place - welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America... with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world."
Well VMK is our land, it gives us fond memories, and it's sort of a source of joy and inspiration to us. Why not just add the pay to play version of VMK? I think that they want to get new hype up for new games and get tons of money whenever new games open. I think that this is just out of proportion.
autoalice 04-11-2008, 03:19 AM Well problem with that is that you would need permission from the county to protest peacefully. The Disney Lawyers gave them a canned response to send out is more like it is my take.
madamecat 04-11-2008, 03:21 AM Another crock of ................ canned response letter. My personal favorite line was we are working on a way to recognize your VMK friends on our other sites. "Stay tuned for more information on that here in a few weeks." A few weeks my behind.............as you say VMK will be gone hence no newsletter:(
PS: Sorry wrong thread topic, this was quoted from my memory from this evening "Yavn's Speaks" newsletter update.
CaptianNemo 04-11-2008, 05:14 AM Got the same letter... no problem I write them again.

Aislynne 04-11-2008, 05:24 AM lol now i understand why they had those last 2 themes..pirates month emphasized the POTC game a whole lot, and well this month emphasizes toon town!
I always thought that was sort of weird to advertise another game even though they are affiliated, but now it all makes sense! lol
Wonderlanda 04-11-2008, 05:30 AM I really think getting it in the media, local and national, is the only hope we have. Hit em where it hurts?
tiedyenaj 04-11-2008, 10:25 AM i got the same email
wdmountie 04-11-2008, 07:36 PM I really think getting it in the media, local and national, is the only hope we have. Hit em where it hurts?
i just sent a letter in to a bunch of media emails this morning and I will plan on sending the same email every morning.
Also I have so far sent two emails today to all the Disney emails we have listed and plan on doing the same thing this evening. I say three polite emails a day is a good start to keep persuading them. Plus I am sending one fax to WDIG a day.
Keep fighting guys! Don't give up! Just push them more! It is the only way to influence Disney that we want VMK to stay open! :balloon:
LadyCobain 04-11-2008, 07:44 PM I actually almost gave up before I read all of these messages! You keep on reminding me why I am fighting! I'm going to keep bothering them too! A whole month of annoyance for you WDIG unless we get to keep our precious VMK!
EtnaGreen 04-11-2008, 08:56 PM My husband has always wanted to see if the urban legend that Mickey Jail has sad Mickey faces on the wall is true......hum....
The Disney Lawyers gave them a canned response to send out is more like it is my take.
I am pretty sure disney doesn't have a jail, because the lead singer from early november was signing autographs in front of the house of blues and a women in a yellow polo shirt told him to stop and leave because he was causing a riot. He didn't know she worked for disney so he ignored her, soon after the orlando police was their and arrested him..
tomben 04-11-2008, 09:01 PM Keep Fighting For vmk everyone.
never give up
we all love it so much!!
skipper 04-11-2008, 09:32 PM We understand your opinion and your point of view, but if we dont try, there would be vmk, if we do try, they will consider bringing it back. Even if they do close it and they're other games fail like we all think they will, they can bring it back knowing people will come. Thank you for actually understanding me, and not compltetly insulting me like every 1 else, I agree with u on what u said to.. I am just giving other views, so we have more options.. is that really bad?
Well I believe that my dreams are important too, just because I'm not famous or popular or anything like that doesn't mean I can't try for my dreams... That's like saying that I wouldn't let you try to get whatever you want most just because I think something negative about you.
Anyway, like princesstinkgirl said:
I have nothing against ur dreams, I am against u saying its WALTS dreams, I am just pointing out , that its urs, not his, thats all I am saying.. As walt said, "We keep moving forward..." thats all I am pointing out, I am giving OTHER options, its better 2 have 2 options, then 1 , so we can fight, or move forward, I AM ONLY GIVING ANOTHER OPTION, nothing more, nothing less.. Well.. flametabulous ..
Save_FruitsBasket_Ace_vmk 04-11-2008, 10:08 PM Are so called " Friends " at vmk would not close vmk if they were our friends
mribgrumpy 04-11-2008, 10:27 PM I guess I'm not the only one who saw Meet The Robinsons
SkyRocket 04-11-2008, 11:17 PM How about everyone just get along and work together instead of complaining!! Save VMK
sue555 04-11-2008, 11:18 PM There is nothing else out there like VMK - They are pushing us towards cars and fairys - I don't want to be either! Plus how long will they be around - until they are done pushing the movies and toys that go with them - they seem to be just the hot fad right now. VMK is not a fad, it's the Magic Kingdom where we can wear Mickey Ears and all be children at heart. I just wish they could see what they have here.
coolJamz 04-12-2008, 01:12 PM whoah? pay to play? i guess if it kept vmk open- i would support it.
disdreamer 04-12-2008, 02:04 PM We gave it our best shot. Guess we can't change their minds.
monkeyfunkychunky 04-12-2008, 02:15 PM Disney isn't moving forward like Walt did. Walt built other parks in Disney World before Epcot. Did he close down all the other parks to build Epcot? No.
We're fighting. We feel we're gaining more progress. That's moving forward.
BlueTinky 04-15-2008, 12:31 PM VMK is not like the other virtual games that they created. These other game they are telling us to move onto are either
A. for little kids(no offense)
B. for mainly either boys or girls
C. just stink
LLamaLLamadddj 04-15-2008, 08:38 PM Hmm. This doesnt look like it's actually been sent by a real person. Looks like the wrote it earlier and it's a auto reply.
Sly cooper 04-20-2008, 05:53 PM Take the news to the papers! Contact every news station across the globe! Burn all of your Disney merchandise! Anything to keep VMK alive!
Disney and Sulake just want us to:pirate6:
-------------------------Toontown, POTC, Club Penguin
DinoVan 04-20-2008, 06:16 PM If they are innovation and creation or whatever and want to move forward how about moving forward with toontown?! VMK is alot bigger and better than those other games and they just want to get profits from the stupid toontown.
I feel like contacting news papers right now.
We should go to disneyland and protest.
EtnaGreen 04-20-2008, 11:37 PM If they are innovation and creation or whatever and want to move forward how about moving forward with toontown?! VMK is alot bigger and better than those other games and they just want to get profits from the stupid toontown.

We should go to disneyland and protest.
Unfortanately since were children and dont have any rights we will be kicked out within five seconds, and they will tell the papers that we were an angry mob and hurt their cast members or something..
ToyStoryFan 04-20-2008, 11:37 PM Disney isn't moving forward like Walt did. Walt built other parks in Disney World before Epcot. Did he close down all the other parks to build Epcot? No.Took the words right out of my mouth. The "moving forward like Walt did" thing is such nonsense. Using that logic, let's tear down all the classic Disney rides like Pirates of the Carribean and Splash Mountain and call it "moving forward."
EtnaGreen 04-21-2008, 09:36 PM Took the words right out of my mouth. The "moving forward like Walt did" thing is such nonsense. Using that logic, let's tear down all the classic Disney rides like Pirates of the Carribean and Splash Mountain and call it "moving forward."
Well their strongly thinking about taking down the carousel of progress which walt believed in strongly, so I can see them taking down pirates of the carribean..
autoalice 04-21-2008, 09:43 PM They may not have taken down Pirates of the Caribbean but they've made it "Politically Correct" and added Jack Sparrow to it which in my mind is getting close.
mrhis2ry 04-23-2008, 02:52 AM If they are so overwhelmed by how many responese they had, why don't they keep it open? Seriously I hate all the lame excuses they give us..
Lame excuses for sure. Why would they close so successful? Would they ever doing the same at WWD? I doubt it. Someoen is screwing up.
VMK is not like the other virtual games that they created. These other game they are telling us to move onto are either
A. for little kids(no offense)
B. for mainly either boys or girls
C. just stink
Well said!!! This is a game kids and adults can equally like.
I'm sure that the new "Virtual Worlds" will NOT be as fun as VMK. VMK will be differen't from the others -- the friendships, the memories... I have lost alot of respect for those who work for VMK... I know I shouldn't have... but I can't stop it.
Retri 04-27-2008, 11:23 PM I think it's about the money.
Honestly, look at all the games they're redirecting us to do. All pay to play.
You have to pay to get the good parts of Toontown.
You can pay on Pirates to do some extra stuff.
On Club Penguin you have to pay to buy most of the good clothes/accessories/items.
VMK does not cost anything unless you buy the code cards.
Of course, I'm gonna miss VMK. I mean, I've been playing since October 2005! I've spent hours of my life browsing through trade rooms, playing games obsessively, and talking to fun people. This is disappointing, especially if you look at some of the reasons that they're closing it.
warioguy 04-28-2008, 05:14 PM Man, I leave for a short year or so, and I come back to find VMK closing. How disappointing.
Yeah, Retri, it's most likely a monetary issue. It costs a lot to keep massive servers with thousands of people on them running every day, and since it's a free game, they probably think it's just not worth it to keep it up any longer. Simple as that.
kala83 05-13-2008, 05:16 PM They still arent too clear as to why its closing.
If they give a REASONABLE reason as to why they are closing, i wouldnt be as furiated as i am now.
If its just for monetary purposes, then thats wrong.
They made over $700million last year from just internet games. Im sure keeping vmk wouldnt be that big of a deal.
I have to agree this is really irritating me the most that they are not really giving any valid reason as to why they are doing this if they were to just give a "good" explanation and reason as to why this happening and then I would not be as <annoyed> about the matter as I am.

...This Letter Keeps Coming up like every 5 Days. It is not a wrote email.
It is a Generic Sent Email. They even sent it to people who didn't contact VMK or WDIG.
SonicBoom 05-13-2008, 07:30 PM Ya, ive left for a short month or two, then I find it closing.
Its over for me. My life's a wreck right now.
But as of VMK closing, guys, dont sweat it. C'mon! It's Disney. You know...THE SUPER RICH ULTIMATE COMPANY?
If they made VMK this good, if they have gotten more and more suggestions to the "pay to play" version of it, rather than just complaints and putting them down (If you protest, you're only getting on their bad side and taking an ultimate risk, it may end up good or bad) they may release something even better. They really mean it when "keep moving forward" (even if they only want money, make better products, make better profits)
I wonder if this is a good example...
There's a new game out, downloading though. All of your memory is taken up. You have to throw something out, obviously you would pick the program you don't use much, most likely the oldest that got boring to you. When you download the new game, it turned out to be awesome. Better than a lot of others. When you want something better, or even just similar but more flexible (like an update) you have to replace it with something else.
Get the point?
Mickey_Dude 07-06-2008, 09:26 PM Fighting well not do anything I believe unfortunately there decision is final.
Obviously there goal is to open up 2 new community's for people to go to, I just do not agree with the concepts of these community's VMK was able to attract a adult and teen audience the new games sound like there meant for children.
You know really bickering is not going to do anything just be happy that you were given such a wonderful opportunity to make such good friends and experiences.
:)

Tayseth 08-29-2008, 11:03 PM Heres a good Motto that someone posted:
• Do not become deeply involved in any game from the WDIG.
• Do not join a game that could be perceived as a promotion.
• When you join a game, do not assume that every word from the mouth of the game's producer is true.
• Disney makes dreams come true every single day for the right price.
• There is no such thing as free magic.

Once again, I agree. I guess they really did want the money. But hey no one will ever know because "promotion" is all they say.
Oh, and btw, this is posted by SoccerRyan.
GoldenHeart 08-30-2008, 02:05 PM Wow..
Nope. This game represented Walt, he would have liked it! Yes his motto is "Keep moving forward," and Disney could have done that but kept VMK open or made greater expectations for the game. VMK was a dream, to all of us, to Disney even. And this isn't a TV show. This is WAY different. This is reality, and people can do whatever they want. Say what you feel, but nobody's going to listen to you. They could care less about what you think. Their just gonna do it! We can make a difference, so I'd like to see YOU try to work half as hard as we are instead of sitting around and being negative about things. Also, grammar matters. :)
hauntedmansionvisitor 08-31-2008, 07:37 AM I still haven't given up on getting vmk back. :wave2: I am still writing to disney and asking them to bring it back to us. They have to see that if they bring it back or make it pay to play they would make more money on it then ever which i thing is the only thing that disney cares about right now. They only care about money.:ThumbsDown:
toontoony 08-31-2008, 12:30 PM Much as i was looking forward to cars, Walking around in disney world//disneyland/magic kingdom is alot more fun then driveing around in radiator springs
bellaace 09-08-2008, 03:53 AM They should have like kept vmk and added new worlds. I don't think the other games will be as popular as vmk was.
SoWassup 09-17-2008, 01:21 AM Keep on fighting, keep on getting Disney bugged, keep on sending letters! I insist that you all keep trying! We've gotta try to get VMK back! Nobody shall stand in our way to get VMK back! Disney has gotta give up after a couple months of this. I would if I got like a million letters a day! ( lol ) Keep on fighting, don't give up! Let's win this fight! This is for forever VMKers!:Post:
xwing23 09-17-2008, 08:01 PM I think they could easily make pay to play just by adding the game to lets say gamekingdom for instance or even adding it to another one of there sites like that. The main problem is because sulake owned the game engine not disney they only provided the content. I think disney could take the content and recreate the game like GPDOT did on vmk revisited, if he could do it so well as one person then we all know disney could easily do it. I think they should get together with GPDOT and bring the game back using what he has already created.

Thanks but they have the content. It would be far easier for them to do than for me. They have all of the original and source files, I have to remake it form pictures, and yes I am one person and they have many more resources available... if they chose to make it available again.
Blossomflower 09-18-2008, 06:34 AM I had never clicked on this thread before til just now...
I read the first few pages and the everyone's fighting spirit made me feel happy for some reason..
Chululli 09-18-2008, 07:34 PM You know, Meet the Robinsons was an extreemly unique and heart-felt film, and I'm really getting tired of them running it's theme into the ground simply because they were suddenly made aware of this convinient 'motto' that Walt once said, and now use it for eeeeeveeeeery thing. http://www.ilovetherain.com/Emote/DonaldWait.gif
They've decided, and they aren't going to change their minds. That's how they work. We just have to accept it, from their point of view, but I highly doubt that their next projects will get as equal and positive a reaction as they are thinking that it will, because now we've learned what putting effort and time into a Disney game gets us: The eventual scrapping and deletion of the game. I won't be playing any of their newer games, as I strive to learn from my past experiences, and I won't be wasting my time a second time around. http://www.ilovetherain.com/VMK/Emote/DeadMe.gif
I know! Next thing im gonna order pizza and this will happen:
Hi, heres your pizza
Thanks!
Thank you, keep moving forward
WHAT!?
osmello 09-26-2008, 05:15 AM I cried for days when it closed, it was not the game that mattered, it was the spirit of disney that radiated from every player and host every day i could be there. It made me feel like i was in disney world even though i live a thousand miles away.. Disney will no doubt make another community game, it just won't be the magic kingdom. I do not want to be a fairy or a car with a big butt. I want to be me, a goofy looking girl with glasses in black mouse ears......nothing else will come close. But beyond a doubt, from my shareholder reports, and disney press releases, I do not believe we will ever see that kingdom again. And that makes my heart sad.....
Kitri 09-26-2008, 01:26 PM I don't want new gams. I want my V-M-K!!!!
