Yavn really doesn't want to close VMK it is not his fault it is disney's in a site of a vmk closing petiton yavn states this:

Yavn- I am sorry for the unfortunate announcement of VMK closing forever. VMK has also been a day to day life experience for hosts and staff at Disney. If there was something we could do about this inconvenient choice, we would. But simply, if we tried, we would more or less be ignored. Disney has made up their mind. I'm sure that if they see how many people have signed this petition, they will make something simliar to VMK, but their decision as of now is final. Again, I am terribly sorry to all of you gamers. We truly only wish for the best in hopes of VMK remaining open, but we also doubt the decision. Now, I must bid this petition signing adeu to catch the monorail before it leaves.
