dreamytime 04-08-2008, 05:36 AM Host Fin even told us in her room to use Disney Internet Group's contact us to voice our concerns and desires!!

KrazyDopey 04-08-2008, 05:40 AM She didn't wanna say to 'tone' them

Whoah, Fin asked guests to express their concerns to Disney Online?
gabyta 04-08-2008, 05:40 AM Let's save VMK! I really hope we can do something!
kingkris 04-08-2008, 05:42 AM She didn't wanna say to 'tone' them
After all she still is a Host!! hehe
LOL, true, but you know she sure wanted too :)
RetroRose 04-08-2008, 05:42 AM I already emailed them, and I'm dialing their number right now. They shouldn't do this!
EDIT: Their number is currently off, but they are opening them back up tomorrow. I will be calling them as soon as they do so.
Cools 04-08-2008, 05:43 AM If I call, what should I say?
Yell at them for closing vmk?
~€00L$
RetroRose 04-08-2008, 05:45 AM Yelling won't solve anything, it'll just make them angry. I'm going to try and reason with them. Explain why VMK should stay open, and how big of a mistake they are making.
gigarichard 04-08-2008, 05:46 AM Whoah, Fin asked guests to express their concerns to Disney Online?
This is as much her game as it is ours. People do get attatched to their job.
StitchRokcs 04-08-2008, 05:47 AM Host Fin even told us in her room to use Disney Internet Group's contact us to voice our concerns and desires!!
ah tis made me think what about staff they would all be laid off or transferred :( illmiss fin she was soo nice
dreamytime 04-08-2008, 05:49 AM Whoah, Fin asked guests to express their concerns to Disney Online?
She actually said to us to NOT use the VMK contact us that it will not do any good, but to use Disney Internet Group.
You Gotta Love our Phinny!!
So contact us on the form tonight and start ringing those phone lines tomorrow and every single day until May 21st.
You KNOW that your voice makes a difference. :)
KrazyDopey 04-08-2008, 05:50 AM This is as much her game as it is ours. People do get attatched to their job.
Yeah, I really feel bad for them actually.
This game was their job, and pretty much their life for a few years.
Yet another reason why to be angry about VMK closing, I really want to keep it open, not just for us, but for them. The staff made it an enjoyable time, they were really great.
gabyta 04-08-2008, 05:51 AM Already sent an email..! I hope we get the chance to save this game..

you have got to love phinny :) you just have to :) it has to be a crime not to like her
ok and btw i called the number they are closed and its for pirates online
Stunt 04-08-2008, 05:52 AM A suggestion:
If anyone here does decide to call them keep this in mind. Yelling at the person who answers the phone will resolve nothing and just make matters worse, so be polite when you express your concerns.
Also, as this is a "kids" game, if any of you who are choosing to call are not old enough, have a parent call for you. Nothing personal but a bunch of kids crying to an operator is a lot less effective then adults voicing their concerns. Not to mention, if a kid says "Sure I'd be willing to pay to play" it's different than if an adult does it.
Not to be a negative Nancy but don't get your hopes up, but do things the right way and who knows what good may come from this.
kingkris 04-08-2008, 05:52 AM You may want to consider pressing issues like going to Disney parks for the cards, buying Disney movies for the rewards, going through travel company for the cards, visiting parks to purchase pins, etc.
Does it keep you out of trouble?
How do you feel about losing your VMK family?
How many hours do you sepdn in VMK each week?
If you had to pay a fee for VMK, how much would be too much?
Just things to seriously think about.....

This phone number is for Disney Internet Services. They also control Pirates Online.
rollercoastrfrk..mike 04-08-2008, 06:05 AM all you say you e-mailed them; so i thought i would share mine :)
------------------------------
Hi, im not sure if im in the right place, but im sure that there are many other people trying to do this right now. It is reguarding virtual magic kingdom ( vmk ).
Im sure that one of the factors for closing vmk is that you ( disney ) is losing quite a bit of money with all the funding for it but is there any way that we could have a petition or something that could keep it open? Im sure that there will be many people who will be willing to play for vmk.
An idea for the petition would be to have a requirement of so many people to sign it that it would pay for the funds. If the requirement were to be reached, you would get your money, and all of the vmk players would be satisfied.
Vmk isn't only a place for little kids, its a place for people of all ages to come together as one. Disney lovers all over the world want to expierence something that relates to the magic, such as visiting main street, or going to splash mountain.
I think that disney would profit much more from making VMK a paid subscription game than any of the other disney games out there like toontown or pirates online. Unlike the other games, VMK doesn't need a specific interest, you could like pirates, fireworks, magic, friends and trading and VMK has them all - in the other games, like pirates you need to be a pirate fan to play - in toontown, you need to be a toon fan to play, why have a specific interest when you can play the game that has it all??
PLEASE give this some thought.
VMK lover,
Mike
Stunt 04-08-2008, 06:07 AM At one point I was banned and was able to contact them via this number to correct the problem. I'm not sure if it's still valid but, the more the merrier:
407-566-4421
PrincessAnnO 04-08-2008, 06:23 AM Thanks for the number stunt.
While the chances of getting anything changed, we do have to fight for what we like. Smaller fights have gotten bigger things changed.
As Stunt indicated earlier, be polite when you call and state what VMK has meant to you. Moms and Dads will make more of an impact than those of you considered kids.
Give it a try---can't make things worse at this point! And, we don't want to just bombard them tomorrow! Spread it out to make a point. Think things out and don't send emails until you have.
:)
Hey, here's a thought: think bugging cast members in the park would do a bit of good? Think I might have some talking to do....
Stunt 04-08-2008, 06:27 AM Thanks for the number stunt.

Excellent point! Don't bombard them tomorrow. Keep the calls and emails going. I will be sending daily emails to them and probably be calling every3-4 days.
AceGoalkeeper 04-08-2008, 06:37 AM I just talked to Lily, I believe all the Staff are telling us to fight. I'm actually someone surprised. This shows that they actually enjoyed playing the game though, and didn't do it just for the money. I'm glad.

dreamytime 04-08-2008, 06:41 AM This is from another fan site - not me...another person:
I was just in NO Square with Lily for about an hour.
She changed her color to green bc she is Ill over all of this.
She is encoraging [sic] everyone to contact everyone and anyone EXCEPT VMK.
She said don't bother....just the Disney groups.
I asked her if I could tell ppl to contact Disney Internet group and she said and I quote " That is not YOUR person.all info Whinnie "
so Lily is very much encouraging ppl to fight,
When one asked if she would still have a job, someone else in the room piped up and said "In the news letter Yavn says everyone has moved on"
Lily's reply was " Wish someone would tell me where I moved on too"
So I can only assume this was as quick and shocking to them as it was to us.
SOOOO SAVEVMK and SAVE LILY!! Write and call we CAN make a difference!!
PrincessAnnO 04-08-2008, 06:42 AM The only thing I'm surprised about in this instance is that staff are being permitted to comment. But, I am very glad they are.
Of course they love the game. :) There is no way you'd keep going to a job like that if you didn't love what you were doing.
kingkris 04-08-2008, 06:45 AM The contact information on this thread is for Disney, not VMK itself as this would be pointless.... Yavn looks like he has his mind made up in the newsletter.
Use the link or make a call!!!
StitchRokcs 04-08-2008, 06:49 AM :( if staff do lose their jobs i would really be mad bc not only is disney ripping friends apart but then they are firing its staff so they are out of work

2starTagregory 04-08-2008, 03:43 PM I am going to call them later, Disney has no right to do this. (No more interruptions after this but they do :) I can't find a legit reason though) Disney will lose money, and money, so on so forth...... Read my other rant for more.
princesstinkgirl 04-08-2008, 05:02 PM some one in the areas near Disney World and Disneyland should contact the local papers, ex. Orlando Sentinel. After all, tourism money could be diminished by this. And we all know that money talks.
kingkris 04-08-2008, 07:00 PM OK this was posted on another Fan Site with EVERY imaginable way of Contacting Disney regarding this decision. I thank the person there for compiling them. I am adding Stephen Wadsworth's email to the list when I cut and paste it here:
I have searched 6 of VMK's fan site boards and have listed all the contact info into one group for us all to share. I did not obtain this information myself. Thanks to all of you who have posted the information.

TheRealPumpkinQueen 04-08-2008, 07:52 PM I was in a guest room with Lily this morning and she said..." You are all doing everything it takes to move mountains." She is still green I changed my skin to green as I am also very ill over this. Please keep trying to keep magic alive.

Sorry to comment on this but In fact Disney does have the right to do this. This is their game that they created and maintain. And asl it has been stated before VMK was meant as a promotional tool for Disneyland's 50th anniversary/birthday. This game has only really ever made Disney money when they had the quests in DLR and WDW. Since it has almost been over a year since their removal there is no other income for this game.

These have been confirmed as VALID email addresses :
Brad.Davis@disney.com
Jay.Rasulo@disney.com
Brandy.Phillips@disney.com
These have been returned as UNDELIVERABLE :
wdw.guestcommunications@disneyworld.com
robert.iger@disney.com
I sent emails to everyone on this thread - These are the only ones that have been returned or that accepted my read receipt requests (they do not have to accept that so the ones that I have sent that have not been rejected are safe to assume they are valid).
Keep trying!!!

Agreed 100%, but I will say, the more contacts, no matter how you do it, will help.
Stunt 04-10-2008, 05:07 AM OK here's my letter which I will be sending to everyone on the list today and every day going forward. I will also be printing it out and mailing it in probably like two a week. Tell me what you think:
To Whom It May Concern:
Allow me a moment to introduce myself, my name is ******* and I am a VMK player. I’m writing this to you in the hopes of preventing an egregious error.
VMK has become a staple for many teens and adults over the course of the past two and a half years. I personally play almost every single day. I really think the Disney Company should re-consider canceling the game. Lots of friends have been made via this game; even friends from across the globe.
The only foreseeable reason to close VMK is because the game does not generate any revenue. I can understand that a game which produces no income and yet still has expenses is obviously a wasted venture. What I don’t understand is why has the company not done anything to generate income from this game?
Clearly the game has a fan following. Search Google or Yahoo and you will see the numerous fan sites devoted to it. Search ******* and you’ll see how people have incorporated it into their personal websites. Visit ******* and you’ll see how children actually make videos displaying their characters walking around set to music. Finally, visit Ebay. For a game that was free to everyone to play, many people have made good money selling their “virtual” items on Ebay. I of course understand that selling items on Ebay is “Against VMK values” but my point for bringing this up to illustrate a point. People WILL pay to play VMK!
I’ve seen many people pay hundreds of dollars for just one single VMK item on Ebay. Why has the Disney Company not capitalized on that yet? At a point, the company caught on and began selling VMK/Pirates blind boxed pin sets. Fantastic idea! As a result the pin sets sold out instantly. For about two to three months it was impossible to get those pins at the parks because they kept selling out. I have visited the parks many times since and the supply of pins is always very low. Why, why, why, has the company not caught on? People clearly are willing to pay to play VMK; I know I am. Rather than trying to steer an existing fan base to another on-line game, i.e. Pirates or Toon Town, why not take advantage of what is already in place and improve on it?
Obviously the company needs some sign that the game can generate revenue. The only way to prove this is to ask people for money. Make it to their advantage as well as your own. Most online games carry a $10-$20 monthly fee; just charge the same. My idea is, charge $15 a month for play or a special one time deal of $150 for a full year, saving $30, and $15 a month after that. Each person that chooses the special offer and pays the full amount up front can get some sort of in-game free item, like a badge saying “I Helped Save VMK.” Based on my experience as a player, the majority of people would opt for the special offer. As a result the company would have some quick start up capital to continue the project.
In addition to that, the VMK staff should partner up with the merchandising team and once again produce VMK related blind boxed pin sets. I speak for myself and others in saying that when the Pirates pin set came out I rushed to buy them. After I bought them my next question was, when can I get more. I was waiting for a set based on the Haunted Mansion or the Jungle Cruise or even the Tiki Room. Why were these not produced? It seemed to me like a winning situation. Pin collecting and trading at the Disney Parks is a huge source of entertainment and I’m sure income. Each park has their own designated pin location as well as additional stores and kiosks located throughout the park which sell pins. Selling pins based on the attractions combined with the elements of VMK would surely be profitable. It would be the perfect way to reach two separate but very similar consumers.
I appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to read this and hope you understand that I write this with heavy heart. VMK has been a permanent fixture in my life for almost three years and I would truly hate to lose it. I’ve had an opportunity to meet some great people and I’d like to continue to meet more. I’m sure over the course of the next few weeks, leading up to the closure on May 21, you and many others will be inundated with emails and phones calls. Please take a minute to reconsider the closure and help restore our faith in Disney Magic… After all, “When you wish upon a star, your dreams come true.”
Very truly yours,

Very truly yours,
I really respect your thoughts, Stunt. I enjoyed reading this, and with the quote at the end, if gave me the chills ;) Maybe it's because I like reading literature, but anyways, nice message. This should easily open the hearts of Disney associates.

Marian1601 04-10-2008, 05:32 AM I just got an email from disneymovierewards and they have a newletter feedback on the front page. I clicked it and after about three questions there was a area to write feedback. I mentioned the fact that I would no longer be buying Disney movies for rewards unless they once again offer VMK items. I asked them to help us save VMK.
Just a thought and another avenue to try!
This is feedback only, not a survery for the 100 extra reward points.

Thank you for reading it, I know it was long but I had a lot to say.
Erikcrayons13 04-10-2008, 05:49 AM Thank you for reading it, I know it was long but I had a lot to say.
I go through those phases when I don't care how long it is- I'll read it. Especially when the punctuation is correct, and theres strong vocabulary :) Will get a lot more attention if it's that way.
P.S. At this point, we all have a lot to say, as a matter of fact, too much to say. I'm not even positive that Disney will read all of our messages, but, the only way this kingdom has any more than 0% chance of staying open, is if we keep our faith.
Good luck to everyone who is calling/e-mailing!

Stunt 04-10-2008, 06:19 AM Petitions are fantastic but my personal opinion is that everyone should do their part and email, call, and send snail mail. One petition with a lot of names is not as powerful as thousands of letters.
kingkris 04-10-2008, 06:22 AM Petitions are fantastic but my personal opinion is that everyone should do their part and email, call, and send snail mail. One petition with a lot of names is not as powerful as thousands of letters.
100% agree Stunt. Petitions online are only going to go so far. They know how many people play the game. Calls and letters are going to make more of an impact then a list of the players.
Stunt 04-10-2008, 06:30 AM Another suggestion, based off the idea about CNN, contact the local news in the Orlando and Los Angeles areas. Seeing as these are news markets closest to WDW and DLR, these would be the best ones. I would also recommend contacting some of the bigger publications such as the Miami Herald, New York Times, USA Today, etc... In addition, Yah oo, MSN and Aol also have news features that may be worth contacting.
So far I've emailed everyone at the Orlando Sentinel and will be working on more soon.
Noelle 04-10-2008, 06:59 AM I think $15.00 a month is a little steep. I already pay for two toontown accounts and that is $20.00 a month for both. I recently made an annual payment since it is a little cheaper. VMK would have to do some serious upgrades before I would pay $15.00 a month for it.
kingkris 04-10-2008, 08:59 AM New Update :) more contacts!
Ok I added quite a few Disney Big Wigs... removed invalid email addresses and deleted duplicated information.
If I find any more, I will update again! If anyone finds anything in addition, including missing titles, please post!!

I could be wrong, but National Public Radio is a group that may respond and do a story. They often have quirky stories on there. Maybe we should look at that avenue.

This morning I sent in letters to NYTimes, LATimes, ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX. I also copied this letter to the media to all Disney executives I contacted on Tuesday. Keep the letters and phone calls coming. At some point somebody will have to stop and listen. We are the consumer, we have the power because of "our" money. One can only hope.

Now I feel bad cause I only contacted the Orlando Sentinel. Awesome job Cat!!! On another, I hate to say positive note but who knows, I did receive a reply from one of the editors from the Orlando Sentinel saying he would pass the message along to a different editor.
EDIT: Just sent a letter to NPR, thanks Green for the suggestion.

madamecat 04-10-2008, 08:44 PM Ok letter just sent to Oprah Winfrey. If one person in the media would run with the story we may just get somewhere. If others could also write Oprah it might help our plea. The more attention to this the better.

I've heard the the Bob Iger email address isn't working. But that robert.a.iger@disney.com (robert.a.iger@disney.com) is working.
Just saw this message on another board. Are these 2 on the list?
Another possibly important 2 contacts to write to:
- Eric Freeman is currently CTO at Disney Online eric.freeman@disney.com (eric.freeman@disney.com)
- Jason Davis is currently the Vice President of Online Creative at Disney Online jason.davis@disney.com (jason.davis@disney.com)
Also, has anyone thought about some of the magazines?
What about the gaming magazines? I'm not a gamer, so I don't know of any.
But there's also ones such as Newsweek, Time, USA Today, U.S. News & World Report, etc.
On another site, some of us are sending flats of our characters to Disney.
When writing or calling, we need to make it personal. Tell your personal story as to why you love VMK. What makes you keep playing. While it's good to tell them about the financial aspect, that is not the only focus here.

That new iger address provided is not working either:(
wdmountie 04-10-2008, 09:05 PM i suggest people start faxing and using snail mail to get their letters into Disney. I kind of don't blame them to wanting to block emails, if I worked for Disney I would want my email blocked after the thousands of emails - lol. Also, the boxes could also just be full from all our complaints. But be persistant and explorer other ways guys. :)
And great work with the media guys - just because the story is not getting run - trust me Disney knows that you are contacting the media. But keep being persistant - don't give up! Keep contacting the media - they will eventually hear you if enough people contact.

OmButterfly 04-10-2008, 11:32 PM I sent this!
I am writing you today about vmk. You say it is going to close in May, but I have to say, you can't close vmk! We're all willing to pay, so don't close vmk! So many of us play every single day, so many would be heartbroken without vmk. We've all tried toontown, it's just okay. We've all been on clubpenguin, but it doesn't work the same way. And about pirates online, well, I don't have much to say. So I am asking you now, why close vmk? Why close vmk, when we'd all pay to play?!
:D
cteddiesgirl 04-10-2008, 11:33 PM I just called Disney online services and Steve Parkis (aka Rebecca Metz) who gave out the VMK email and phone number:
vmk@disneyonline.com
and a very monotonous automated message with a place for you to leave messages at:
407-566-4421
Do not email VMK. They are not the ones that made the decision. People higher up made it. They are the only ones who can change it.
Write real letters. Send snail mail. Obviously either the email addresses are full or they have changed them. And it seems they've now changed the phone policy.
Emails are also a lot easier to delete just as are phone messages. But thousands of letters are not so easy to get rid of. Better yet, thousands of letters every single day. ;)
black33 04-10-2008, 11:38 PM I found some more e-mails, faxs, and phone numbers on a VMK Podcast website..
I don't know if you have these already, but here they are:

KEEP IT GOING!! YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!
supernov 04-11-2008, 12:28 AM So I just called the VMK number. What in the world. He is so lying! He sounds so "upset". And rude! I was like... rude much? Keep going they are "touched" by our emails and phone calls. And of course they threw in a little ad of Pirates of the Carriabean (Which is not pronounced that way) and Toontown and their upcoming games.
shaydie 04-11-2008, 01:38 AM Not all the emails are working. I just sent another letter and got this:

Stunt 04-11-2008, 03:38 AM The Robert A. Iger one worked I think. I got an auto message saying it was deleted without being read. So it look slike it works. I sent another email right after I got that one :)

Just FYI, just because you receive the deleted without being read email, this DOES NOT mean they didn't read it. I work with outlook everyday and know how this works. They could have read it without actually opening the email.
Do not be discouraged by this, it is actually confirmation the email is valid and that they did indeed receive it.
THANKS STUNT!
crushandgush 04-11-2008, 08:36 PM yavn has his own website, and I traced the I.P. and it came up with his real name and info, but Im not going to post any information because he is not in charge. sad vmk is going away forever, but I am going:Unhappy: to be there till the end. ;( how I know this info is true is because I found some info about him on "other" disney fan sites.
NicoleMarie 04-11-2008, 08:54 PM Just wondering if anyone has tried these numbers and actually spoke with a "live" person? I have tried calling 3 of the numbers and all I get are canned recorded messages basically stating the same info "Yavn" has put out through the newsletters. At the end of these messages you are allowed to leave a message.
I guess we should feel somewhat encouraged that VMK/Disney is willing to address this in any way shape or form. In my opinion, the fact that they are not completely ignoring the issue means our efforts have made some sort of impact.
If you are able, please keep up all your good efforts through calling as well as letter-writing (both through e-mails and regular mail). Thanks for all your wonderful support! :wave2: Don't give up!
Off to buy more stamps!

mrmyth 04-13-2008, 05:31 AM Another possible contact name - from a Feb. 2008 article
"Taking on an expanded role within Disney Online Studios will be Mike Goslin, the VP of virtual worlds and one of the lead developers of Toontown and Pirates of the Caribbean Online, who has been appointed to guide the development of online virtual worlds and communities."
Did not see him on the list.

Marian1601 04-14-2008, 05:35 AM I wasn't sure how to start a thread so this is better than nothing. This is a letter that I sent to newspapers, Disney, Sulake and news stations using the emails I have so far. The reponse has been fantastic. Try [a] petition site for the updated list of addresses. Or use the ones from this post. I got most of the national news and newspapers addresses from the site.
:)
Dear Sirs,
Many of you have heard my plea to save VMK already in the past week, but I am not ready to give up trying to keep it alive. We are a Disney household of 5 and our hearts are still breaking over this terrible news. I have yet to even tell my youngest children that it may be ending. When I told my ten year old she cried for two days and wrote to all the Disney addresses we could possibly find. I told her we would not give up. My five year old actually thinks the people in the game live there. It is pure magic and so incredibly sweet. He can't wait to ride on all the cool rides with his character and to see all his friends.
There are so many stories going around as to why this is happening. No one seems to be the villain here but I am pleading for some agreements to be made in order to keep this wonderful game going. Disney may have started this as an advertisement but it has turned into a "real" safe world for so many adults and children alike who need a community with real values. It was like living in a Disney dream.
Please Sulake work out some kind of agreement to release Disney from any obligations they have to your company. You will feel a much bigger hit if it turns out you are the reason VMK goes out. The Forums are very strong and will start a boycott against your company and your games (Habbo Hotel). Don't think we will all be running to join your pay to play sites. It will be the exact opposite. And speaking as a parent of three potential customers, I will never allow any of my children near your sites if VMK does go black because of your inability to compromise on this issue.
Disney, revenue will be of no consequence if you in-state a pay to play policy and once again serve your VMK patrons in the parks and web-sites like disneymovierewards.com. It is very obvious that everyone is more than willing to support this monitarily if the game will continue. We all love you and appreciate all the magic you have brought into our lives. Thank you, Thank you!
As a community we are reaching out to the media to help our small voices be reached by a larger audience. Once people hear about this most wonderful game and the how it has benefited so many people, the possibilities are endless for all involved. It would be a win, win situation all the way around. VMK could be the biggest thing since peanut butter met jelly. :)
Rest assured you will be hearing from me again and many others before and long after the day that VMK goes dark.
As you have heard so many times over the past week! Please save VMK!
Warmest Regards
Destination 04-14-2008, 05:55 AM I tried sending an email to Iger a couple of days ago, but I got back an automatic reply saying that there was no such email address.
Marian1601 04-14-2008, 07:02 AM Make sure you have Bob Iger not robert! I did that also the first time!
Stunt 04-14-2008, 09:49 PM OK everyone, hopefully the MODs don't mind but seeing as everyone else is here, here's a new contact for the list:
Yavn:
Seth.Mendelsohn@disney.com
CONFIRMED! Let him know how you feel.
You can also contact him at 818-623-3689.

I do not think Yavn is someone we should be contacting for VMK Closing. This isn't in Yavn's hands.
Stunt 04-14-2008, 10:18 PM I do not think Yavn is someone we should be contacting for VMK Closing. This isn't in Yavn's hands.
I disagree. This list has many people's info who are of no help to the cause. Now, Yavn may not be the best person to email and voice our concerns to he is certainly higher on the list then a lot of other people.

It's the Disney CEO's (or HIGHER people above Yavn) that need to get contacted. Do you think Yavn wants VMK to close? A game he originally imagined.
Stunt 04-14-2008, 10:35 PM Do you think Yavn wants VMK to close? A game he originally imagined.
Maybe yes maybe no. None of us know for sure.
But, we're contacting people related to the Disney Channel and ESPN and ABC and imagineers like Tony Baxter, why? We are contacting people who have no relation and no influence to VMK, but we are still contacting them. My thoughts would be if we are contacting these people shouldn't we be contacting Yavn. None of us know his position, perhaps he is the puppeteer closing down VMK because his research is wrong. Now I don't know any reasons, but before I contact a lot of other random people on that list, I'll be contacting him first (or second Bob Iger is first).
Greenway 04-14-2008, 11:21 PM Besides, if yavn doesn't want it closed and is trying to find ways to keep it open, having personal experiences from players may help his/our cause. File it under people that "it couldn't hurt to contact" them.
kingkris 04-15-2008, 03:20 AM Yavn added. Thanks Stunt :)
Not sure how much contacting him would do, I think he already knows......
gilligantrips 04-15-2008, 03:25 AM Yavn's number? Stalkers... ;)
I emailed many of those who are on this list. Thanks for compiling it. :)
Stunt 04-15-2008, 03:26 AM Have something big coming soon... maybe. Working on it.

I emailed many of those who are on this list. Thanks for compiling it. :)
Haven't called Yavn, think it's actually probably pretty pointless...
Compiling, my pleasure.... glad to know people are putting it to use :)
mrmyth 04-15-2008, 04:14 AM Check out the big Rolodex on Stunt!
Awesome work all - We are starting to get local news spots and that is how bigger shows pick up on it for their personal interest stories( shows like GMA/National news/Daytime talk shows).
At this point, nothing is pointless and nobody is safe.
Get enough people interested/bothered who knows what can happen. We already know what will happen if we just sit back quietly and listen to those that tell you it's a lost cause.
Keep up the mailings - keep up the E-mails - Phone everyone from your local paper/news to the contacts listed on page 1. ( http://www.vmkforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=145531 )
Better to go out in a bang then a whimper!
(in Disney movie terms, no matter how many times I see Pirates of the Caribbean, Jack still enters the Kraken's jaws with sword drawn!)
Stunt 04-15-2008, 04:15 AM Better to go out in a bang then a whimper!
Believe me, I plan on banging as much as I can!
This one works also:

mrmyth 04-15-2008, 07:17 AM Let's all keep the effort up - here's a bump to keep the contact info on top!
We are being heard - as a certain mod's signature always read-
POWER TO THE PLAYERS
MagicMontey 04-16-2008, 04:38 AM I am not sure this is Steve Jobs address? But it is Apple Computer Corporate address:
Steve Jobs
Apple Computer, Inc.
1 Infinite Loop
Cupertino, CA 95014
Does anyone else know how to get these kind of addresses? I would like to send my letter to all Board of Directors. I have the list Board Members but not their office addresses. If someone is good at getting office addresses I can type all the Directors and their Companies from the inside back page of the annual report. Just PM me :)

Nice going Magic - I was just looking into it as well.
Steve Jobs not only one of the biggest parts of Apple but also co-founder of Pixar Films and BIGTIME shareholder as well as on the Board of Directors at Disney.
kingkris 04-16-2008, 09:55 AM Great info!! Added to the list :)
If you get more, let me know and we'll get them posted!!
SAVE VMK!! DO YOUR PART!! :)
mrmyth 04-16-2008, 03:54 PM I think we should not let up on efforts to contact these people!
You never know when it will be that one little email/letter slips through and ends up in the right hands.
Thanks to all for the efforts - Great work!
MagicMontey 04-16-2008, 04:35 PM ty Mystery, long time no see, I hope you have been well :) - smiles at my old friend - and I agree totally!
It might only take ONE letter, ONE video, ONE avatar, ONE Board of Director to say another "these fans really want to keep VMK, who knew what we had created, we should look into this."
If you ever wanted to see if one person (you) can make a difference I challenge you to go for it now. We will be making history and you will be able to tell others “look what I did.” If we can spin this cog around (reference to ToonTown) who knows what else we can accomplish!
Disney movies often show that one person can make a difference and that people can do anything if they believe and work hard. Please let our efforts make a difference and show the world that we CAN keep VMK open because we are signing petitions, sending letters, mailing our avators, making videos, contacting media and working together to find a way to get our feelings expressed. Together, I believe we can keep the Magic going!
kingkris 04-16-2008, 10:12 PM ;) You guys are doing great...Dont give up on Vmk just yet....We can do this.....
EDIT: Thanks MagicMontey! More info added to the list! :)
slinkyman 04-17-2008, 12:48 AM OK this was posted on another Fan Site with EVERY imaginable way of Contacting Disney regarding this decision.

There is also: robert.a.iger@disney.com
mrmyth 04-17-2008, 06:15 PM Nice going to all that keep the faith and try to keep our game open!
We have all read that news stories are starting to pop up. This is how it starts! Other news agencies and blogs pick up on it and the word gets out.
This only happened since we refuse to just go out without a voice.
Please keep up the emails/letters/phone calls everyday to every contact on this thread as well as any/all media outlets you can. Most local news stations have a web site you can send a story to, or reporter you can email. Every little bit helps! Thanks again to all that are trying, and to those of you that have not yet..
Try just one if you can - worse thing that can happen has already been told to us.

SkyRocket 04-19-2008, 05:16 AM email@ridleypearson.com

specialagentpooh 04-19-2008, 06:27 AM You know, that's not necessarily a bad idea. He has media connections already...
Stunt 04-19-2008, 07:20 AM BUMP!!!

Here are their biographies from the Disney web site, (Jr.detectives needed! - maybe we can find an email for these people with a company they are associated with. Let's keep it respectful since I bet most of them are unaware of VMK);

kingkris 04-20-2008, 08:25 AM :) Nice work Stunt!!
mrmyth 04-21-2008, 08:19 AM Odd - I got a busy signal!
Ok everyone - We really need a push.
I know that everyone has dropped off a bit on the efforts but we need to stand together and keep getting the word out!
Write that letter/keep up the emails, everyday if you can.
Try the calls - alert the media.. any media!
We need to stay in the face of Disney. They are counting on us giving up.
Show then they are wrong. Show them we do care about our game.
We will not be faries or carsor whatever ride/movie they are promoting.
We already have our virtual us..and our virtual friends.
Thanks for being strong and trying to stand up for something you want!
Keep our virtual dream alive - be heard - make a difference!
kingkris 04-22-2008, 10:53 PM Seems like people are letting these contacts go.... please keep up the effort!
mrmyth 04-23-2008, 06:13 AM We all need to keep the efforts up!
Be heard - save the game - keep the dream alive!
Every little message helps!
Stunt 04-23-2008, 06:47 AM Good job Myth for continuing to fight the good fight.
Keep it up people and get your voices heard. Don't be bedazzled by the new stuff out there forget the cause. Keep it up!!!!!
evina 04-23-2008, 05:00 PM I dont think you can save VMK. Many people think that their contract with the game maker is over. I don't think its Yavn's fault or any person in Disney's fault.
KellisMan 04-23-2008, 05:33 PM Yes it is Disney's fault. You're totally wrong. If you're meaning Sulake, they no longer have anything to do with VMK. Disney, WDIG, to be exact made the descision.

Disney builds digital magic kingdom in Seattle
Archive | Disney completes buyout of Starwave (1998)
Excerpts from the blog
Ten years after setting up shop in Seattle through its acquisition of Starwave, Disney is again building up its presence here.
Disney Internet Group is planning to expand its team here from 300 to 400 people over the next year, reflecting the Seattle operation's importance to Disney's broad digital strategy, according to John Spelich, vice president for corporate communications.
Disney's employment has been up and down since it made Seattle its Web-development outpost when it bought Starwave in 1998. The group had more than 500 employees during the dot-com peak, but cut back dramatically a few years later after the crash and strategy changes.
For years Disney was a major part of the cluster of Web companies in Pioneer Square, where it occupied much of Smith Tower. But the company recently moved a few blocks uptown, to Fourth and Madison.
The Seattle office includes engineering, advertising and operations teams that build and run a platform of services powering the online sites of Disney, ABC and ESPN. They power registration, e-commerce, ad serving and data warehousing for the global network.
Spelich listed some impressive stats for the Seattle operation: It's serving a billion ads a day, handling more than 100 million registered users and managing 27 million unique visitors a month just at Disney.com.

benihodge 04-24-2008, 07:47 PM I know those areas in Seattle pretty well, I didn't realize Disney had offices there.

Nice going Cat!
Come on people - our days are getting shorter - we should be getting louder!
Stunt 04-25-2008, 07:50 PM Here's a thought.
After searching around it has come to my attention that the game may or may not have been sponsered by the parks. Meaning the parks paid to keep it open and are now closing it.
Does anyone know who the President of Disneyland is? I know at WDW the President is Meg Crofton. Let's find out who the Pres at DLR is and see if we can start emailing them as well.
Just a thought.
EDIT:
Allen Weiss - Worldwide Park Operations
Ed Grier - Pres DLR
I'll let everyone know how it goes but I tried:
meg.crofton/mary.crofton/allen.weiss/al.weiss/ed.grier all @ disney.com
If any go through I'll post.
EDIT AGAIN:
So far Mary Crofton and Allen Weiss got kicked back, but the others work (I think).

Mr. Ed Grier
Ed Grier , President of the Disneyland Resort
Disneyland Resort

Anaheim, CA 92802
I sent one of my 11 letters to Ed Grier, President of the Disneyland Resort. If you guys get a working email or phone number please pass it along.
I also had an idea today. Why not try to contact Disney teen music stars like Jonas Brothers or Hannah Montana (Miley Cyrus). I am sure both have contact with Disney Officers and they are in the demographic that VMK targets. I found a fan clubs for both. Maybe someone here knows more about these sites and how to get a contact email, address or phone number. I bet stars who these kids look up to might care about the news that Disney is upsetting their fans. Even a buzz on their fan site could get our vioce out there?

Thanks for the address, be trying that tomorrow.
I am also 99% sure that al.weiss@disney.com and ed.grier@disney.com and meg.crofton@disney.com do work.
As these people are the heads of the park and the ones (rumored) to be responsible for the funding of the game, these three should be high on the ladder. I've emailed them basically saying how can they not see the value. I and usually three (at least) members of my family were going to WDW once a month (sometimes twice) and I was mostly going for VMK. While there I stayed at Disney, ate at Disney, and of course shopped at Disney. They sure took our money!
mrmyth 04-27-2008, 02:37 AM These are all great new leads to follow through on!
I'm sure Kingkris will update the front page of this with the new entries.
Let the new ones as well as the other contacts get our messages daily!
Never give up - surrender is NOT an option.
We fight for three things at this point-
1. Keep VMK open as is.
2. Secure a future version of VMK.
3. Show that we are to be heard and not just dismissed!

And well.. while we are at it..
Micheal Eisner does a show on CNBC
Send emails attention him at:
conversations@cnbc.com
And here is his foundation for helping children,
"All children are capable of achieving their dreams. We are committed, as a family and as a foundation, to supporting organizations in Southern California that improve and enrich the lives of underserved children. That, simply, is the mission of the Eisner Foundation."
(we can donate to a worthy cause and be needing some help as well)

These are the latest to add to the contacts.
Do not give up on the others, we will be heard.
We fight for VMK now/VMK future versions.
Don't let the fun be brushed aside, it only takes a minute to copy an email and mass send it to all these people. Only takes one getting through to save a virtual world.
kingkris 04-29-2008, 06:50 PM Ok, I have posted the recent update, please let me know if I missed anything!
You guys are doing awesome! Keep up the great work!
kingkris 05-04-2008, 04:03 AM Updated :) anyone have anything else to add?
SoccerRyan 05-04-2008, 06:22 AM When I received a 10 year ban last summer, my dad called:
407-566-4421
He explained the situation, and the woman was able to find the exact dialogue from the night I was banned. Reading the conversation, she told my father that what had happened was certainly against the VMK Values, but she would have the conflict reviewed to see if the ban could get lifted. A week later, I was unbanned.
This phone number is linked to a woman named Joan Kaplan. She lives near Orlando, FL. If she has the power to find exact dialogue from a previous day, she must be a VMK staff member.
I hope this number is still valid. Add this to the first post if it is.
We don't have much time. Call, e-mail, and write as much as you can! Don't lost hope, we still may have a chance.
