I'm afraid I don't have any more information other than that there have been pictures on VMK Story. I don't know how to access them, although others on this site do. Maybe one of them will speak up here...

Possibly Key, possibly. Some things will never come out though, as to why they teased us with the Flying Carpet magic for so long. Hopefully VMKStory is the new VMk with all our items replaced, or maybe, we start a-fresh.

I really wonder what it will be.

But why close it, and not even say anything about having a replacement. I find that not a "surprise" or a "secret" it is kind of mean.. LOL

Hopefully it is some sort of second gate, maybe with new lands and stuff.

Or explanations to why we didn't ever get a lot of the items we were promised and real reasons why things were leaving or closing, not just because "they were meant to end."

Ah, and since the promo is over, they need people to pay for the game. This game looks like it has better graphics, which may mean it will cost money, and if it does cost money, it will need to come out! rofl. But still, I really hope that this will come true. Sorry but I'm not too familiar with computers How do I find where the peoperties are to find vmkstories.com? I can do enough to play VMK but that's about it. I am very sad that VMK is closing and I would totally be willing to pay to play. Everyone knows me as Dazzling in VMk by the way.

my whole take on this is if they are doing a second gate way (after all they have been saying there seems to be another portal opening) that they are going to release it after vmk closes. They close vmk first to see how people are going to react to the news and once they see all the the hype they will problem realize that yes they could get away with charging money to play and as far as those characters go MEBAY the new hosts of vmk stories?!?! idk just my take

It seems to me that Disney pulled the plug on VMK without giving the staff much notice, and you'll recall that Yavn said Vinnie would be getting his own place in the newsletter. Perhaps "VMK Stories" was to be the title of series and the pictures are illustrations that were to go with the story? Just a thought.
I do hope VMK is continued in some way, but I'm trying to still be realistic and not get my hopes up too terribly high.

By the way, is anyone else creeped out by the alternate picture of the character posted above?

If VMK starts doing mass releases, I think it would be a really big sign that it is all over.If they continue at the normal pace, then it would be a possibility of a carry over to a new site.

I'm afraid you're right. They ended VMK because of the tons of complaints last weekend, so they thought VMK must be lame and not worth keeping open. It should have told them that people really care about VMK's fate and want it to be the best it can be...

I bet VMK stories was just meant to be a part of the newsletter. Maybe they were thinking of having stories to go along with quests, like the Blackheart quest.

Didnt they do that in Pinky and the Brain? They disappeared during the height of their glory only to reappear decades later in hopes that the children they brought joy to, now adults, would give them the world... ...and instead the fans were just as ticked as before and wanted them to pay for their therapy bills... ...Im sure the same VMK fans that complained to VMK about the quest would be the same that would try to sue for all the greif and stress they caused them.

That was my theory too. :Unhappy: Atleast some good came from this. Those people who beat the quest multiple times, or just did it once to trade everything basically wasted their entire weekend for nothing. They gave them world only to take it all away in May.

From what I have seen, I believe that Garfieldo is correct. We may still see these used in the last days of VMK as part of a way to give free trial memberships to ToonTown and POTC Online. The other pictures in this folder have already been used in in-game promotionals like the Twitches Quest. Pictures go all the way back to Everest billboards on the Esplanade.

Maybe this is Yavn's new project like he stated in his newsletter

From the picure with that guy with the bird hat on pg.3 of this thread, look in the background of the pic. it almost looks something like VMK merging into POTCO.
