Great choices, mods! It was really hard to pick. But I picked the "Easter Chicken" one by sweet_0nyx because it was so adorable- good luck to everyone who entered!

I think that some of the rooms that were chosen by mods had no theme of "LEAPING INTO SPRING" I think when a contest is up that they should chose rooms that have that theme not other things that have really nothing to do with spring. I am not compiling because i entered and did not get put on the pole I am compiling because i think you should go by the guidelines.

My point: this contest kinda missed the meaning of Spring, and made it Easter.

Most of the rooms chosen are spring-themed, and have a feel of spring to them. There is only one room that doesn't appeal springy to me, but this is only my opinion.

I'm sure staff had a reason for choosing the rooms they did, as they are all EXCELLENT. I'm also sure that they associated Easter with Spring because Easter is in Spring.

All of these comments from everyone can just help make the next contest a little better. :hop:

The reason for the contest theme: It started on "LEAP" day and ended on the first day of "SPRING". I don't want to do contests that aren't fun and if the rules matter more than having fun, there is no point in doing a contest. We will try again in May. I hope the focus will go back to having fun. I thought we had been doing that so far this year.

It is interesting that you are truly associating "Bunnies and Eggs and candy with Easter"; for many that is what it is, but in truth...

The Bunnies and Eggs are a sign of spring and rebirth and were introduced into the "holiday" as a way of making it more acceptable/interesting to some people who were being asked to accept it as part of their celebration.

These two icons, bunnies/rabbits and eggs, are great symbols of spring, and show the meaning of spring in conjunction with flowers and grass. It's a sign of life returning after a long difficult period of rest for the land (winter).

Spring - Birth
Summer - Growth
Fall - Harvest
Winter - Rest

This is not in defense of what I have, but in an effort to share a bit more about the meaning of rabbits and eggs and why they were introduced at this time of year. I could go into a great deal more detail, but it might be construed not as informational, but foisting my views upon others in areas we do not talk about here on the Forum.

I hope this makes sense to you all.

This was a great deal of fun for me, I build to build and would have posted regardless.

Well I got a few messages about how my room was related to Spring and I thought I'd clarify it here. I looked at the contest requirements and it said something about "leaping into spring." My room is in an Everest Room clarifying that Winter is not actually over but the season is pushing into Spring. I also used another metaphor with the clouds - stressing the leaping part which was kind of a long stretch being that some people would not understand. The columns just looked nice to me and I thought they could be added. Again, I have plenty of plain out Spring related rooms that I could have entered, but I thought that room was best for "leaping into spring."

I hope this helps you understand why I entered that room.

I thought it was a fun contest to do :) I had fun looking at my old room pictures and deciding if any of them were spring-y at all. I for one think that all the rooms that were chosen had at least one element of Spring. Also, thank you Tepcat for explaining the title; it makes more sense now. Maybe the next contest should be a "Fun" contest. Things to do, people to meet... Reminds me of Mr. White Rabit just a bit :easterbunny:.

Also, I'm not taking anyone's side in this. Though, I do agree with Tepcat guys; can we not be greedy and just focus on the fun? I think a no rules contest sounds fun and rule free in this situation.

All of them are just so amazing. I dont think I can pick just one!

One interesting note about these polls is that your voting is private. No one - and I mean no one - knows who you vote for. That means that if you are voting for someone so you will get something in return - they don't know it. If you say you are voting for someone and then vote for someone else - they won't know it. The only way these polls become a popularity contest is if you make it one. The mods don't look at the names of the entries - they just give me the URLs for the ones they like and move on. You will also notice that I don't put names on the poll. Yes, you see them when you look at the original entry, but that's only if you are looking for it because it matters to you. I don't have any way to remove the drama from these contests - that is up to each individual member.

I personally think the whole magic of the room creating process has been lost on this contest.. I think we should create rooms because we like to create rooms, not to create rooms bc we think we get a prize from it.

when i entered my room, it was a room i already created.. no i didn't make it into the top 10, nor do i care if i did, i entered bc i thought oh what the heck this easter room is spring oriented, so for the fun of it i entered, not bc i expected to win.

the whole point of the contest, is to show your creativity, and have fun, and support others. Not to tear others down. You don't know how much time some of us have put into their rooms, to have other people say they're no good! It's just not right!


And another note: Easter is spring related, yes Spring is a season, and is not all about Easter, but to say Easter is not related to spring is a stupid thing to say in my oppinion. Bunnies, Eggs, Flowers, its all spring related.


I personally enjoyed all the rooms, and thought everyone's rooms were awesome. Its a shame everyone can't just support eachother and be happy for those who did get chosen. Instead we all choose to complain that we didn't make it, and ruin it for everyone else who enjoy creating rooms.

And so what if i choose to support a friend over someone, maybe i actually thought my friend had the most creative room. It should all be about fun!! And i think that is what we have lost here..it's a shame

The Rooms Are all AMAZING and it was very difficult to decide. My First Choices were BaseballStarz, GPDOT, or Mr.GreenGene. I had to chose BaseballStarz overall because all the furniture he put together makes it really blend. You all deserve 1st place for efforts AND this competition. Good Luck!
