This is an assignment i had to do in the perspective of a leaf on a tree during fall. My teacher loved it, so i thought i would share it with you guys :) hang in there it's a little long!
It was the most dreaded time of the year, fall. This is the time when all the older leaves start talking in whispers. The month where all the leaves fall off the tree. I am scared of fall, i have heard of the evil winds and leaves falling. I never never felt this cold or scared before. It is making me nervous. I can only hope i won't be the first leaf to fall..
Fall has started a few days ago, and already some leaves have fallen. Some cried when they fell. Some even laughed becayse all the pain was over. The ones that confused me the most where the ones with the blank expressions on their face, as if they had already gone. The leaf that lives just down the branch from me fell yesterday. He was my best friend. I tried to say goodbye, but no words came out. i just sat there watching until he hit the cold, hard, ground. Today his body is covered with hundereds of other leaves, including my parents. I starting to wonder hwne i will falll...
Just earlier today the last leaf besides me fall. I was alone for the first time in my life. I never thought being alone could be so painful. It was like a cold, icy feeling burning inside of you. The wind is ripping at my stem. I swore i felt invisible hands, trying o pull me off my branch. My tree is started to sway back and forth in the wind as if it is scared also. Right now i feel pain and regret for not letting go earlier, and for being scared of falling. But for some reason i can't let go. It feels like falling will hurt, like the worst pain i have ever felt. That is why i'm scared of falling from my tree to join my friends and family.
The wind is really blowing now. It's screaming it's challenge to me in words i can't understand. Finally, my stem breaks. I fall fast at first, but then i slow down. I expect to hit the hard ground, but instead i hit something else. I land into the softest hands i had ever felt. They were softer than the softer pillow, likes clouds, or sheep wool. Somewhere from far away i hear thousands of voices, but all talking as one say "welcome, i have been waiting for you". Then i wasn't on the ground any more, i was flying up into the sky, into heaven. I took one last look at my tree, my only home i ever knew, before i left forever. Then i was there, with all my friends and family. There were big leaves, little leaves, tall leaves, short leaves apple leaves and trees, and buckeye leaves and trees. There were more leaves than anyone could possible imagine. But most surprisingly, There was a giant man. He wore a long robe with all the starts of the sky in it, and had a long, white beard along with his long white hair. His robe was as bright as the sun. He was the creator of all the leaves in my tree, and everything else in this worlds. I went to greet my family, and they showed me around. We had our very own tree that we could get off of at any time. I was finally here, i was home.
