I don't know what you are talking about.
I love WICKED,but that is a copyrighted image you are using.

I had it up on another site, and was contacted by the production company to remove it.

The image doesn't matter. I'm just wondering if making a VMK play of it is good!

*wide eyes* Allymatey, no offense but what Caterpillar is saying, is true. My close friend ended being sent multiple e-mails by the company to remove the image from her blog. I really would use my own creativity to come up with a graphic banner for wicked, that I made myself. Anywho, Caterpillar AEIOU is a wise Caterpillar. So listen up. I thinky that Wicked would be pretty cool as a musical though, I miss musicals. Eversince Tmkttt left... *goes off to dreamyland*

The play, and the ART WORK is owned by someone who has an office at Universal Studios in Hollywood, I got an email from them saying that I could use, but I would have to PAY them royalties EVERY time that I use it!

Art work is protected by some kind of copyright law. It is the same law that allowed Disney to sue Daycare centers for painting Mickey Mouse on their walls.

People pay lawyers to look for these images to protect themselves.

Sorry to get off topic.
Good Luck with your play, which you would also have to pay royalties to perform ANYWHERE. The play is owned by someone.

If you ever perform a play in high school ( or wherever), you have to PAY for the rights to use it, and each script that you get a copy of. Even Free community theater has to PAY for royalties.

I know this sounds unfair, but it is the law, you can look up on the net.

I've done a VMK version of "The Phantom of the Opera". What's the difference with "Wicked"?

I'd say just don't do wicked... You might be sued.... even though it would be really hard too... I would close this thread

Good grief, this is confusing. I didn't know we couldn't post posters on our forums or blogs without having to pay royalties. And I also didn't know my dog could be such a nuisance by lying on my mouse. Grr! Hehe, sorry to get off topic. Good luck with your musical! I've never seen or read Wicked, but I'm dying to.
Edit: Whoa, whoa, whoa! We can't do copyrighted productions on VMK without getting sued? That's messed up!

Look, I am just trying to save you some trouble for using the image. The bigger problem is using the image to advertise a performance.

Obviously, you can't take advise. Go to the Wicked the Musical website and look it up yourself, and look up the law.
