View Full Version : Suggestion for VMKF
waffles 01-28-2008, 03:24 AM hello there =)
i have a suggestion for vmkf
Instead of whenever you post you have to select what font and color you want if you one, you should be able to just select a font and color under the userCP and keep that font and color whenever you post instead of changing it everytime. =) There are not many people that use fonts, but I think that if this would ever happen for VMKF more people may start using fonts.
Then, so the mods don't have to edit the posts, all of the bright color fonts (yellow, lime green, etc.) can be taken away so people can be able to read the posts color. There can only be dark colors or readable colors. Same with font sizes.
For those who don't want their font changed, then they can just leave their settings at default.

heh, thanks :D
Narnialucygirl 01-28-2008, 03:27 AM great idea!
Destination 01-28-2008, 03:28 AM I think that's a good idea. That's one of the reasons why I dont change my fonts or colors that much.
Mintypal 01-28-2008, 03:36 AM yes we really need that here :)
Mooshu 01-28-2008, 03:37 AM Excellent idea. It'd certainly be helpful.
YourFootsteps 01-28-2008, 03:40 AM Kind of like neohtml.
Yeah, that's good.
I mean, I don't do any fonts or colors because it has to remain in all my posts.
waffles 01-28-2008, 03:53 AM thanks for the positive feedback everyone! :D
i added this to my original post as another idea to support this:Then, so the mods don't have to edit the posts, all of the bright color fonts (yellow, lime green, etc.) can be taken away so people can be able to read the posts color. There can only be dark colors or readable colors. Same with font sizes.

The reason I don't change fonts or colors is that the default font and color (and skin) are the easiest to read. I don't like when other people post in other colors or fonts. But, of course, you have the right to post as annoyingly as you wish (within the rules of the Forums).

if this rule were ever to go into effect, then you can select the "view all fonts default" option (is that on VMKF already?) so you don't have to view the annoying fonts :D
Haveamagicalday 01-28-2008, 04:20 AM I don't think forums can do that, I've never seen it before. Maybe I'm wrong, but it would be nice! :)

aww, really? that stinks :( oh well, ill still hope! :D thanks for your input HAMD.
Batleth 01-28-2008, 07:07 AM But, of course, you have the right to post as annoyingly as you wish (within the rules of the Forums).Well, I wouldn't say that:
"Irritating posting styles" - This refers to posting styles which make it hard to read and/or comprehend what a user is attempting to state on their post(s). Mods and other users must be able to read and understand what you are posting. Use of all caps (indicates yelling), caps/lowercase variances (I wAnT A sEcReT fRiEnD), poor color choices for their text vs. forums background colors (such as white text on a blueish background), excessive punctuation (yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) or letter repetition in a word (Woooooooot!) are both irritating and sometimes hard to read. These types of posts will be removed from the forums or edited by a mod.

It's not with vB natural programming to make adjustments like this. We'll have to wait for further updates to see if they include something like this. So the answer is no, for now.

Well, yes, that's why I said:

Stemaboat_Tyler 01-28-2008, 03:15 PM good idea!

thanks bat for letting me know, and checking this idea out :)
PaperClip 01-29-2008, 04:59 AM I think that it would be a great idea. I'm too lazy to change mine all the time though. xD.
/me waits [impatiently] for someone to create a default-font script...
