View Full Version : VMK Checkers Guide
quinnriley 01-24-2008, 06:37 AM Hello, this is the guide by me for VMK Checkers. I will explain most of the rules, including leveling up.
Chapter 1- General Checkers
Ok, to play normal checkers you move pieces diagonally, but only forward. You can jump opponents pieces to destroy them, if you can jump and can jump again you can do this, it is called a double jump.
Kings-- After you reach end of board, you turn into a king. Kings can move backwards too.
Chapter 2-- VMK Rules
Magic Hats-- These are what vmk has instead of kings. You can move twice with these, in addition to king rules.
Magic Pins-- These let you do special things.
Buy them in the Magic Shop Specials. To use, say magic word with caps for first letter and exclamation point after. Uses your turn. Cannot be used by Magic Hats.
List of Pins To Date
Levitation: Word - Levitate! Lets you jump over to pieces at once.
Sleight of Hand: Word - Sleight! Lets you change places with a piece next to you.
Chapter 3-- Leveling up, Credits and Challenging
Leveling Up- If you beat a person you have never played before you level up and sometimes earn credits.
Credits- The credits you win depends on what level you turn into.
Just got to level: / Credits:
1 / 50
10 / 400
20 / 800
Challenging-- If you challenge someone, it will teleport you to an empty room, if there are any. To challenge, one of the players need the Checkers Level pin, which shows your level on it. You get it after playing checkers once. To challenge double-click someones Checkers Level Pin. Then they will get a request. If there are any empty rooms when they click yes, it will send you to the checkers chairs in the room.
Chapter 4-- Send me Info
If you have any information, please post here or pm me.
Thanks!
I just beat a level 35 on the high score list (i'm a 5). I took almost all their pieces until they couldn't move. It said "blue wins" then i was kicked out of chair she played the next person. My pin still says level 5 and I didn't get any credits. What's up with that? (No I just started today, never played her before)

frozenfire 01-24-2008, 10:08 AM Kit i think i was at this game was it near end of day?
bc i remember it
anways the reason u got kicked out chair was that somone in line
if somone in line then u get kicked out of chair if no on in line u stay
as for credits u dont get them every level or we would have hit a gold mine!
im not sure if its every to or three levels that u get credits
can somone check that? - how many what level u get credits -
prisoner 01-24-2008, 02:08 PM Leveling Up- If you beat a person the same level as you or higher, you level up. You also win credits at this time.
Credits- The credits you win depends on both players levels. Please post if you know anything else so I can add to this.
Do you have any evidence for these? Its not quite what people have been observing, or what the help file says.
From what we can tell and documented at the wiki at Disney's Online Worlds (http://www.disneysonlineworlds.com/index.php/Main_Street_Magic_Shop_Checkers), you get a level if you beat someone you haven't beaten before - or whom you had lost to in the previous game to them.
You get credits the first time you get to certain levels.
But since its a new game - I think we're all still trying to figure this out.
CooledCoyote 01-24-2008, 03:02 PM Between you and any one other player, there is only one point. Whoever wins the last game between them gets to "hold" that point. Want to hold that point forever? Then keep a list of who you beat and never play that person again, and you know some people are doing that already.
spacerightsummer 01-24-2008, 03:07 PM Well one thing i can say about this game is when the lag gets unbearable on fireworks at least i have something to do while waiting for the lag to wear off. I used to play jungle cruise and get that measely 20 credits but the rewards on this game are way better than that.
Acepowerboy 01-24-2008, 04:34 PM Credits- The credits you win depends on both players levels. Please post if you know anything else so I can add to this. The only credits I have gotten are
1- When I first won Level 1 50 credits
2- When I got to Level 10 400 credits
3- When I got to Level 20 800 credits
and it didn't matter what level we where both in. Any body else has something different?
MLKnCookies 01-24-2008, 04:38 PM The only credits I have gotten are

When I get to level 50, I'll notify if there is another credit reward.
Acepowerboy 01-24-2008, 04:40 PM When I get to level 50, I'll notify if there is another credit reward.Do you remember what you got for Level 30 and 40?
MLKnCookies 01-24-2008, 04:42 PM Do you remember what you got for Level 30 and 40?

JustOh 01-25-2008, 06:16 PM I would like to add from a curiosity perspective, no extra anything for winning a perfect game (you take all and he/she takes none) :(

That doesn't seem possible without collusion, so it makes sense that it wouldn't be rewarded.
:) It's still skills. :)
One of my first game was almost a perfect "block game". Most if not all checkers where still on the board and no one could move. And yes I won :) No collusion either.
It would be cool to get a bonus. I'm going to video some cool matches. It would be nice if VMK could recognized really good games.
Stand by for a tournament!! :)

With the use of the magic, it is possible to take them all and not lose any.
Acepowerboy 01-25-2008, 08:52 PM This is a good quide to play, I found it in the home page of VMK

LadyBella 02-07-2008, 07:21 PM no msg for level 60
GoofyGeggy 02-07-2008, 07:27 PM 3000 credits for "level" 200, and from what I hear, 4000 credits for "level" 300...
Neoteny 02-21-2008, 11:20 PM I've noticed that a few people have topped 1,000 points. Anybody here have a clue what the payouts are like at that level? Do you still get paid every hundred wins? And if so, how much?

The person who topped 1000 that I spoke to said no payout.. She didn't get anything special for that level. I'm not sure what that means but she said "I didn't get anything for 1000 win".
slinkyman 02-21-2008, 11:55 PM The time you get a reward for Checkers increases every win. Since they're over 1,000 they may have to win 200 games before getting credits.
snowegoof 02-22-2008, 12:51 AM I saw someone who had reached level 1000 -.-
ladybird 03-18-2008, 01:54 PM hi,
i just won my 150th game for which i was paid 2,000 credits i had noticed i played from 100 to 150 getting no credits ! seems a bt unfair 50 games is a lot to win nothing, also i had to quit my 144th game for am important call and on my return i noticed i had ' dropped ' to 143 ? so i deliberatly quit my next game and sure enough it dropped my score again, has anyone else had this problem..... i can't understand this scoring system and i refuse to play anyone using magic i think its a form of cheating does anyone else feel the same ??
papersouls 03-19-2008, 03:29 AM hi,
i can't understand this scoring system and i refuse to play anyone using magic i think its a form of cheating does anyone else feel the same ??
i'm with you on that one.. only problem is, not everyone wears it at the time you sit in the seat.. i actually like this game, but i refuse to play as often since the last 3 or so people i played refused to move their pieces out of their sides.. thats just as bad as the magic, cheating wise, if you ask me..
