View Full Version : If VMK Were Pay To Play, Would You Play?
Stemaboat_Tyler 01-20-2008, 12:11 PM Please move if in wrong area
It depends on how much it would give out. If it was like $3.00 then i would but if it was $10.00 then I would say no. Would You?
horseylove12 01-20-2008, 01:51 PM idk if i would pay at all but maybe if it was $3 but def. not 10$
:CastMem:
:smiley65::simba:
StitchRokcs 01-20-2008, 01:56 PM read my post i posted
i would pay like 5 american dollars a month if they compleatly got rid of lag actually did what they said they would and actually listen to the players!
i vmk came out with a membership payment and people paid vmk would be like 100000% better bc in potco i noticed people were complaining about something the very next day it was gone potco game designers actually listen what players had to say, why did they listen bc they are paying members they pay for there paycheck :D also if disney was making some what of a profit, disney would put more money into it to make an even bigger profit. so yea i would like vmk to have something like pirates have the basic accounts, then have member accounts. member benefits could be like privt public rooms that only members can play maybe a mini-game that only members can play members could get double credits everyday, memebrs could get benefits like participating in events going to host events. thats what i have to say my other idea was trading cards at target (i got that idea from my sisters webkinz O_o)
BaseballStarz 01-20-2008, 02:04 PM i would quit :(
VMK will never be pay to play though :D
icefire_dragon 01-20-2008, 02:32 PM I would be forced to quit :( But I agree with BaseballStarz, I don't think VMK will ever be a pay to play.
~Ice
Jezibabe 01-20-2008, 02:35 PM I would have no choice.. I am not allowed to pay for internet games. Therefore I wouldn't be able to play VMK anymore :(
TheMagicWithin 01-20-2008, 02:54 PM I would. But only if it was like Runescape's Paying System. you pay so much every much and you get additional things that others don't. But all can play.
dislori 01-20-2008, 03:02 PM I would still play but I doubt they would do that. They have too many problems and people would ask for refunds when the server is down.
hikoik 01-21-2008, 04:19 AM i'd leave............ it's an good game, but not something i'd pay for, especially not a month-to-month thing
Penguinz 01-21-2008, 04:20 AM I'd quit. I'm not that addicted anyway.
BestDana 01-21-2008, 04:27 AM VMK's fun to play from time to time, but I would never spend money on it.
Not that I'd even be allowed to spend money on an internet game. =P
BetterDays 01-21-2008, 04:37 AM I would definitely quit if it became Pay to Play.
I don't really think it'd be worth it.
Neoteny 01-21-2008, 03:36 PM I'd certainly have fewer mule accounts!
MinniesDream 01-21-2008, 03:41 PM I'd totally pay to play.
Stemaboat_Tyler 01-21-2008, 03:46 PM i would quit :(
VMK will never be pay to play though :D
I was just saying like yavn had a meeting and he went ' Oh, lets charge kids to make them play! Muahahaha! ' :D
2starTagregory 01-21-2008, 04:00 PM i cant pay either so i would quit unless they have p2p aand f2p ( pay or free)
pumpky12 01-21-2008, 04:09 PM i would play if i had my parents pay for the site not me lol! If i had to pay to play i would definatley be sad but still not play like toontown. it is boring there anyway on toontown.
OstrichSam 01-21-2008, 04:18 PM I wouldn't pay, I don't find a point in paying for any online game
Stemaboat_Tyler 01-22-2008, 03:07 PM Giving This A Bump :)
Disney101 01-22-2008, 03:10 PM I would quit :) heh.
Tremendous Tyler 01-22-2008, 03:15 PM If it was a cheap price yes but i cant aford anything not cheap.
pinkmaha 01-22-2008, 03:24 PM Maybe if they bring out more cooler stuff..
I would, if they greatly improved gameplay.
Acepowerboy 01-22-2008, 04:49 PM It would be goodbye for me, is already to much that we have to buy movies and go to the park to get the cards and the good items, if I had to pay it would be to much.
strikemaster 01-22-2008, 05:01 PM I would never pay for an advertisement in the form of a game.
~Strike
CuteTabitha 01-22-2008, 05:26 PM No way. I dont got any money LOL! My parents would say no bc they are already paying for toontown.
I would quit I guess.
blueyoh 01-22-2008, 07:56 PM i would quit too and i agree with BaseballStarz too
Caterpillar AEIOU 01-22-2008, 08:41 PM 1. If it were unlimited accounts per IP address.
There is no way I wouldpay per account. I have 12 very established players, all with very rare, but I wont pay per account. A lot of the rare and rooms aren't tradeable, and 3 people in my family play.
2. It would have to be open 23 hours a day ( LIKE WEBKINZ is)
3. They would need to stop re releasing park quest exclusive items into the game.
4. They would need to sell VMK items with codes ( Like Webkins)
5. Quest would have to be back at the parks
In other words I would EXPECT a lot for my money.
coolJamz 01-22-2008, 09:02 PM Depends. I finally was allowed to pay for toontown... after some arguing.
I might
mrmyth 01-22-2008, 11:42 PM Originally I'd have said no but..
More and more I'm thinking the quality of players might improve since as of late we have seen a decline in respect and values throughout the kingdom.
Destination 01-22-2008, 11:49 PM I would most certainly pay to play.
StitchRokcs 01-23-2008, 12:11 AM well if vmk went pay to play the would do something like POTCO a basic membership and an account so players can play just without a few benefits nothing like toontown where the only way to play is to pay
MinniesDream 01-23-2008, 12:18 AM Originally I'd have said no but..
More and more I'm thinking the quality of players might improve since as of late we have seen a decline in respect and values throughout the kingdom.
I agree. And I think that IF they decide to charge people, they should do the same thing as toontown does; some lands are for members only. ;)
MLKnCookies 01-23-2008, 12:22 AM I would quit. It would be a shame though after all this time to quit just because of money coming before fun.
Neoteny 01-23-2008, 02:51 AM 1. If it were unlimited accounts per IP address.

Yeah, as the game is right now, it's not worth paying for. But if the game could be made worth the money, then sure, why not?
Retri 01-23-2008, 02:55 AM I would hope to stay, but it would all depend on the cost. Money doesn't grow on trees! :/
Also, they'd have to drastically improve the quality of the game. Right now it just wouldn't be worth paying for. But if they made some improvements and brought back quests and stuff, then it would me much more worthwhile.
I pay for toontown (still beta prices for me muahaha). I think i would pay for VMK if (like somebody already said) it were open all the time. The current times stink for east coast.
-Kit-
BlatinaBella 01-24-2008, 01:43 AM i would stop, becuz im to poor to be playing vmk. but that would be bad if it was pay to play!
StitchRokcs 01-24-2008, 01:45 AM I pay for toontown (still beta prices for me muahaha). I think i would pay for VMK if (like somebody already said) it were open all the time. The current times stink for east coast.
-Kit-
i dont find the east coast times stinky
Extras 01-24-2008, 04:42 AM Never, I mean, if VMK acts as bad as it is right now, then no.
i dont find the east coast times stinky
You're lucky! :) I guess folks on the west coast must hate ending at 10:00pm. I just really hate waiting for 10:00am local time to start playing. Before 10am is quiet time in my house on the weekends. :)
-Kit-
PirateInferno 01-24-2008, 08:44 PM I would never pay. I pay to go to WDW, and that's the line.
Stemaboat_Tyler 01-27-2008, 09:05 PM Bumpity Bump Bump
ValentineH 01-27-2008, 09:08 PM My parents wouldn't allow me to pay for it. If it was my money they might let me... Yeah, if it was like 3 dollars a month, sure I do it! I'm addicted to VMK! :)
-ValentineH
PaperClip 01-28-2008, 03:29 PM I don't think I would. I don't get on much anymore.
AwesomeTom 01-28-2008, 03:41 PM I would most likely pay to play. As many have mentioned before, it does depend upon the amount of money they ask for. If it was small/minimal per month I would most likely do it, but if the price was very high I would have to decline. If VMK ever became pay to play I would guess they would do a similar format to what Pirates Online did. You can pay for extra additions and better quality or play a free version ;)
No Way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
gigarichard 01-30-2008, 11:08 PM I would only Pay to Play if I would get my money's worth. If the quality of the game improved, which I would expect it to, then I would pay.
Stemaboat_Tyler 01-31-2008, 12:23 PM Bringing up my post.
Palkia 02-01-2008, 01:03 AM i would still get on no matter what! runescape is stupid no offense but it would depend on the money that was made pay or if it was like webkinz you have to buy something and you get a year, and VMK would never be pay to play... I hope
TeddyYeti 02-01-2008, 01:04 AM Isn't there a rule against pay to play?
Stemaboat_Tyler 02-02-2008, 01:04 PM Isn't there a rule against pay to play?
If there is, how come Club Penguin makes you pay? ( to be a '' member '' )
Neoteny 02-02-2008, 01:06 PM If there is, how come Club Penguin makes you pay? ( to be a '' member '' )
Club Penguin doesn't follow VMK rules. Neither does basketball, Mah-jongg, or coin collecting. This thread is about VMK.
Stemaboat_Tyler 02-03-2008, 02:27 PM Giving this a bump.
Stemaboat_Tyler 02-04-2008, 11:54 PM Bump........
Stemaboat_Tyler 02-06-2008, 10:18 PM Bump!!!!!!!!!!
matey 02-08-2008, 05:20 AM I was just saying like yavn had a meeting and he went ' Oh, lets charge kids to make them play! Muahahaha! ' :D
Lol I would quit, I mean its hard enough getting money but having to pay for a game @_@
Imagine if they did >.<
Neoteny 02-08-2008, 05:21 AM If VMK started charging real money to play, I'd start looking for a way to sell my virtual items for real money and get out.
TeddyYeti 02-08-2008, 05:27 AM If VMK started charging real money to play, I'd start looking for a way to sell my virtual items for real money and get out.
Ask around. You'll find one of the thousands who do the same thing.
PS did you watch lost tonight. That's some trippy stuff huh?
matey 02-08-2008, 05:28 AM If VMK started charging real money to play, I'd start looking for a way to sell my virtual items for real money and get out.
I know what you mean working hours, months, or even years to earn items then pay to play comes up and you have to quit and let them rot away at least get some profit :D
Neoteny 02-08-2008, 05:34 AM did you watch lost tonight. That's some trippy stuff huh?Don't tell me! My wife was too sleepy, so we're not watching it until tomorrow.
Stemaboat_Tyler 02-09-2008, 09:33 PM Bump!!!!!!!!
markershark 02-10-2008, 05:38 AM Haha, thats an easy question. I would not pay for this site at all :D
Pink_Bink 02-10-2008, 05:41 AM My mother doesn't allow me to pay for online gaming, so I would have to quit.
- Pink
aggieathlete 02-10-2008, 05:42 AM I wouldn't play VMK if i had to play....... I would find some other game
spot41414 02-10-2008, 05:50 AM VMK's fun to play from time to time, but I would never spend money on it.
Not that I'd even be allowed to spend money on an internet game. =P
Exactly.
Not worth it, and I wouldn't be allowed. XP

Stemaboat_Tyler 02-14-2008, 12:09 PM Giving this a BUMP
PopCicleAye 02-14-2008, 01:45 PM I think I posted already.. but I've got new reasons.
I would pay if it was like three dollars a month or something.. but if it was like 10 dollars a month, I might not pay. It's pretty much in my parents hands.
And I am not planning to waste the rest of my life on this game.. so I wouldn't want to pay a whole bunch of money for it.
If it was like Club Penguin, and Runescape, where the members are a "higher rank" I would quit all togther. I HATE that about those games.
~*~Pop~*~
snowegoof 02-14-2008, 02:36 PM No. Paying for virtual entertainment is a no-no when you can be enjoying the earth.
Stemaboat_Tyler 02-15-2008, 12:26 PM Giving this a BUMP.
Baconbits 02-15-2008, 12:31 PM Well if yavn just decided to make it pay to pay : I have gone to far in vmk to say no to paying for it and since I have so many great friends on vmk, so many great items/rooms/clothing. I'd pay to play vmk if i HAD to.
What if it was a once and done pay to play though ?
.:Blue:. 02-17-2008, 01:31 PM VMK would probably never do that, but if so, I would have to quit. :(
Beautiful 02-17-2008, 02:04 PM I would probably pay if VMK started making you pay to play and keep your account. That's kind of wierd, if they do start this ' pay to play ' it would be against their own values. Wierd. It would be against all odds even if they did start ' pay to play '. Because just about 1/3 of kids are not allowed to spend money on paying sites. And about another 1/3 thinks it's not worth it to spend money. Also about 0.5/3 might spend the money if you had to pay. And about another 0.5/3 would definatly ' pay to play '. So basically if VMK choose to pay to play they would not have a big profit. So chances are VMK will probably not go to ' pay to play '.
.:.Beautiful.:.
Brer_Nick 02-17-2008, 02:11 PM I would pay to play. Probably becuase I'm CrAzY like that when it comes to Disney (answered every trivia so far correctly and still no reconition?) even if it would be like 10 dollars a monthe. Of course though they would've have had to make to my liking.
My liking would include what I expected when I joined about 3 years ago:
Ridable Rides
All the parks
somewhat better graphics
a less strict dictionary (can you even say dictionary in vmk?)
Walk around characters like Mickey and Goofy
True to the park areas (why did they think messing with tomorrowland was a good idea)
All the Rides
Games that relate to actual rides like Pirates does
and most likely more...
Neoteny 02-17-2008, 03:24 PM (can you even say dictionary in vmk?)
Yes.
(why did they think messing with tomorrowland was a good idea)
A better question: Why did the real Disneyland think it was a good idea?
disdreamer 02-17-2008, 03:28 PM I feel alot of people would quit. So I doubt VMK will charge to Play. We all have gotten use to playing VMK at no charge. No I would not pay. No Way!!
DarthMelissa 02-19-2008, 01:43 AM I feel alot of people would quit. So I doubt VMK will charge to Play. We all have gotten use to playing VMK at no charge. No I would not pay. No Way!!
Well, I don't think they'd care how many people quit because they start charging because as of right now, they aren't bringing in money based on the game :)
Originally I'd have said no but..
More and more I'm thinking the quality of players might improve since as of late we have seen a decline in respect and values throughout the kingdom.
I agree here mystery man. You don't find as many rude people in ToonTown as you do VMK and I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that people are paying for ToonTown.
1. If it were unlimited accounts per IP address.
There is no way I wouldpay per account. I have 12 very established players, all with very rare, but I wont pay per account. A lot of the rare and rooms aren't tradeable, and 3 people in my family play.

5. Quest would have to be back at the parks
In other words I would EXPECT a lot for my money.
Miss Caterpillar, I agree with you. If they were to charge, I'd expect a great deal more. I think with a solid income from monthly subscriptions, the game would be improved a lot.
Although maybe they could take a hint from POTC and do a free game and a paid game. Have the best of both worlds, but give the players that are paying a little boost.
SuperSnowCutie 02-19-2008, 01:46 AM I'd quit.. I'm not allowed to pay for pay to play games.
dubcit 02-19-2008, 01:49 AM I would give everything away to someone who was paying then I would quit. The game has lost it's magic.
Madilina 02-19-2008, 08:26 AM If i had to pay to play, i wouldnt.
I would just quit but as people has said VMK is never going to be pay to play.
SoccerRyan 02-21-2008, 10:50 PM If VMK ever became pay to play, I would quit. But I don't think we have to worry about that happening anytime soon. VMK is already dragging in money by serving as an advertisement for the real parks and with the whole Inferno thing. I mean, don't you find it odd that all of a sudden they stopped having Inferno as a HOST prize for a long time and then went ahead and said you had to buy all of this Disney stuff to get it? They waited until they felt that the demand for Inferno was at its peak and then went ahead and made it literally "buyable." Disney is already getting plenty of money with their "free" game. I don't at all predict that VMK would make that kind of drastic change.
ihavewaycutecats 02-21-2008, 10:55 PM I would be so mad if vmk was pay to play. I have been on clubpenguin sometimes and that is such a dumb website. You have to pay just to buy anything, it is waste. I would never pay to play on virtual games, it is not worth it.
lemon_seed 02-21-2008, 11:00 PM my addiction to vmk is strong but not strong enoff to pay to play !!!
Dizney_Princess 02-21-2008, 11:33 PM I would if they improved it. Like no more crashing and lag and stop rereleasing rare items for like half price and everything. If that happened then maybe I would but if vmk stays the same then definitely a no.
acepetunia 02-22-2008, 02:43 PM even though VMK is against pay to play rooms I would without a doubt pay!
mistrominnie 02-22-2008, 04:49 PM I would quit if it were pay to play. I like VMK, but not that much...
Centurey 02-22-2008, 04:57 PM If they were open more often, yes.
If they did giveaways for like tickets to parks and airfair and stuff, yes.
If it was cheap, yes.
Heh
But im not on that much so yeah
