Class Trip Catastrophe
Chapter 1

“OK class,” Started Mrs.Unger, “I have chosen where we are going for our week-long class trip. After a very persuasive essay from Sally, I have chosen…” There was no need for her to finish. Everybody was already sighing, and booing, and complaining.
“Of course, miss Disney Freak has to win us a class trip to baby town, Disney World,” Haily whispered to Baily. Baily sat on the left of her.
“Excuse me, I heard that!” I whispered to Haily. I sat on her right. They just ignored me.
“I know,” Baily whispered back, “What’s so educational about riding “It’s a small world” over and over again until we start whistling the song while we sleep?”
“Just to let you know, this so called “babyish” “It’s a Small World Ride” just happens to be a ride showing different countries and how they celebrate holidays, their cultures, and what they wear,” I whispered back angrily. Once again, they just ignored.
“Also, I have chosen your groups,” Mrs.Unger started again. I will read them off, then I will post the list on the board just in case you forget. There will be about 5 people in each group. Here are the groups:

Sally
Haily
Baily
Bobby
Joey…”

I didn’t hear anymore. Apparently, neither did Haily and Baily.
“Great, I get a whole week of being made fun of and hearing insults about how stupid Disney is,” I whispered to them with the comment referring to the look they were giving Mrs.Unger.
“Don’t worry, we can deal with you,” worried Haily, “It’s Mr.Show-Off and Mr.I-Wanna-Look-Funny-In-Front-Of-Everyone that I’m worried about. Her evil glance was looking over to Bobby and Joey. Everyone in the class was still booing and sighing about the “unsmart” choice of going to Disney World.
“Sally, you may come make your speech now,” said Mrs.Unger.
“A speech?” Haily whispered to Baily, “Of course, just what to expect from her.” Baily didn’t look very surprised either.
I walked up to the front of the room to give my “speech”. Actually, I thought of it more as a lecture than a speech.
“Don’t worry, I am not going to give you the whole entire history of Disney World, even though I want to. But, I am up here to give you some of the requirements, and some of the rules and the perks we will be experiencing. I will pass out this paper of the requirements and rules and perks. Although, I will need to add some extra stuff in. Pay Attention!” I glanced at Bobby.
“Perks
At Disney World, we will be going to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, MGM Studios, and Animal Kingdom. We will also be visiting Downtown Disney. IF we have enough time, we may visit the water parks. Remember: IF!
Requirements
1.Hall of Presidents~ Hall of Presidents is located in the Magic Kingdom at Liberty Square. Once you are getting closer to the front of the line of the Hall of Presidents, you will be taken into a room looking sort of like a ball room that leads to the door of the attraction. DO NOT JUST STAND BY THE DOORS AND WAIT! On the walls, there are pictures of the presidents and plaques of information about them. Take notes on the president. Also, make sure you are taking notes while you are on the attraction. It is very important to take notes! Note that you will have a test a few days after we get back from Disney!

2.World Showcase~ World Showcase is located in Epcot. There are several pavilions-each representing a country. Go to at least three of the pavilions and make notes about what their culture is like. Reasonable notes, not a 1 sentence notes! You will be turning your notes in for a grade.

3.Living With the Land~ Living With the Land is located in Epcot. This boat ride is basically a whole entire science lesson! Make sure to take good notes- you will be quizzed on what you learned on this attraction!

4.Kilimanjaro Safaris~ Kilimanjaro Safaris is located at Animal Kingdom. On this ride, you will see animals, but no 2 rides are the same because sometimes the animals aren’t in view. But if your lucky, you will be able to see quite a few. Your assignment is to write down some of the animals that you saw. What did they look like? Describe them or draw a sketch if you can. If you learned any information about the animal, what did you learn? There are also interesting trees you will need to look at also.
Tip! On the ride, look above you and you will see a strip with a bunch of animals listed. Use the chart to draw the animals if you need!

Extra Credit! Ellen’s Energy Adventure~ Ellen’s Energy adventure is located in Epcot. On this ride, you will be learning quite a bit of science, take some notes and turn them in for extra credit!

Rules
1. Mrs.Unger made sure that at least 1 person in each group had a cell phone. Please, someone, bring your cell phone! Although…I want you to use them for the correct purposes. Your cell phones are not to talk to your friends in a different group. They are to be used for meeting purposes. Disney World is a very BIG place, and if your battery goes out, it will be very hard to meet up! Mrs.Unger will be giving you her cell phone number so that you can call her if you need anything. Make sure to give Mrs.Unger your cell phone number so she can call you.

2. Behave yourselves. Disney has to right to kick you off rides and attractions if you are being bad and I really do not want that to happen. If this does happen, I assure you, you will be in VERY big trouble.

3. Stay with your group! I am sorry if all the members of your group don’t want to ride the same things all the time, just make sure everybody gets to do things that they want to do and be fair. Don’t separate to go off and ride separate attractions!

4. Requirements Come First! If you are in the Magic Kingdom, I want you to go do your notes on the Hall of Presidents, and then go have free time. I DO NOT want you to do whatever you want first thing, and then squeeze in your requirements last thing.”

By the time I was done, almost everyone was tired and looked like they were about to fall asleep on their desks. (By the looks of it, I think Haily did fall asleep) Mrs.Unger came up to the front of the room as I sat down.
“Luckily, all of your parents signed the permission slips I gave them at the beginning of the year, so all of you are able to go,” said Mrs.Unger. (I bet most of the class felt like going into the teachers desk and ripping up all the permission slips so they wouldn’t have to go)
“On the trip, make sure to keep the requirement paper, notebook paper, and a pencil with you in the park. We leave Friday!” Said Mrs.Unger sounding excited. Friday…I thought. Today was Monday. Five days to pack. Wow!

Chapter 2

Before I knew it, three days went by. At school, I could barely concentrate because I was so excited. I was more focused on packing…I would totally freak out when I got home from school.
“Yes, I’m home!” I would scream, “Now it is time to check over my luggage again!”
“Sally, you’ve already checked over your bags 100 times! I’m sure that you have everything in there,” Interrupted my mom.
“But mom, As forgetful as I am, I have to make sure I have everything. Just think about, what if I forgot to bring clothes? I’d be walking around Disney World in my pajamas for crying out loud!”
“OK, just make sure not to just skim, make sure to check over carefully,” said my mom.
Before I knew it, the day was almost over. I was in bed, trying to fall asleep. Today is Wednesday night…We leave Friday. I couldn’t take all of the stress I was taking in; I had to drink some water for me to finally be able to fall asleep.
Luckily, nighttime passed by faster than I thought it would! Before I knew it, I was at school. Surprisingly, people weren’t looking at me angrily. It actually looked like they were happy.
“Wow, what are you people so cheerful about?” I asked sounding confused, considering the fact that I really was. Bailey was the first one to speak.
“Well, we were angry, but now we’re excited! All of us girls met together yesterday and took a look at the Disney website…we were disappointed at all of the baby stuff at first. Then, once we got to looking at the map, we realized all of the cool stuff that was there!” Said Bailey sounding excited
“Yea!” Interrupted Hailey. There’s Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Expedition Everest, Rockin’ Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, all sorts of cool stuff!”
“Well, I’m glad you’re happy!” I said feeling happy since people weren’t angry at me anymore. “But what about the boys? Are they over it yet?”
“Well,” Hailey interrupted, again, “I was talking to Bob yesterday over the phone and he said that he looked over the website some and found some cool stuff too. He started the phone chain, so all the boys know about it.” Bob is Hailey’s boy friend.
“Just to think, I can’t believe we leave TOMORROW!” I yelled sounding excited. Then the bell rang. Time to get to class.
Once again, I couldn’t concentrate. And this time, I don’t think anyone else could either. The boys were probably worrying about packing considering they probably haven’t even started their packing yet, and the girls were probably worried about what they were going to do in the parks and the groups that they were in.
Once I got home, I checked my bag a hundred times more. I also looked to see what the weather was going to be like in Florida for the next couple of days. When I took a look at the weather, It donned on me. I needed to call everyone.
On the phone, I said exactly the same thing to everyone. “Make sure not to pack all shorts and capris. Florida can get really cold! Last time I went to Disney, at the beginning of the day, it was really warm outside. So, I put on my shorts and my mom put on her capris. Then, at the end of the day when we were going to watch the fireworks show, It was FREEZING! We ended up buying a blanket and cuddling up during the show to keep warm. So make sure to bring a jacket, maybe a light weight one you can wrap around your waist.” And I was not joking.

“Oh my gosh, I can’t believe we are leaving today!” Everyone screamed. We were now aboard the bus that would take us to the airport. When we were putting our bags in the back of the bus, there was so much luggage that we ended up carrying some of our smaller bags.
“I don’t like planes,” said Kaily sounding worried.
“Don’t worry, you’ll be fine,” I said to her. I actually meant it too. “We’re flying by Air Tran and Air Tran is great! They have a built-in radio in the armrest. We can even listen to Radio Disney! Also, the flight attendants come around and offer pops,”
“ I bet we’re going to make it into the Guinness Book Of World Records for the record of noisiest airplane,” said Hailey trying to be funny. Actually, it was funny.
“Actually, I can agree with you on that. I can’t believe how many seats our class is taking up. There’s thirty of us students, Mrs.Unger, and Mrs. Gray. Each section of seats has three seats, that’s 31 rows of seats! Well, with an extra person in Mrs. Unger and Mrs. Gray’s section. Imagine all the chaos!” I said sounding excited, I was actually nervous at the same time.
“We already get enough chaos on the bus, but on an airplane! Wow,” Bailey said.
“To bad, I like the bus. I mean, we can’t get semi’s to honk at us in an airplane!” interrupted Pat. All of us nodded our heads in agreement.
I looked out the window. Apparently, all of our talking made time pass by at hypersonic speed. I looked out and saw the airport. When our bus finally came to a stop, Mrs. Unger went to the front of the bus and started talking. “OK, Our plane leaves in about 3 hours,” she said. I looked at my watch and it was bout 8:00. We had to get up really early to board the bus for the airport. Mrs. Unger continued, “Now we have to check in our luggage, go through airport security, eat an early lunch, then go wait for our plane. I hope to get this done fast so we won’t have to catch our plane at the last second.” Everybody got off the bus.

Chapter 3

Everybody seemed nervous coming off, including myself. I was wondering if we were going to make our flight on time. The whole class had to go to the back of the bus to get the luggage, so while we did that, Mrs.Unger walked to a person that was putting bags down a shoot.
“Is this for Air Tran?” asked Mrs.Unger.
“Yup,” said the luggage person, “You put all of your luggage here, except for your carry-on items. Each person can have 2 carry-on’s.
“OK,” said Mrs. Unger. Then she waved her hand to invite the class over. When the whole class came, the luggage person was shocked. Such a lot of people doing a big thing can easily shock a person.
“Make sure you have tags on your luggage,” said the luggage person. As a matter of fact, all of us did have our tags on. We had yellow tags that said Animal Kingdom on them. This is because we were staying in the All Star Movies resort, which is located in the Animal Kingdom section. Since we had everything we needed, each of us took turns sliding our luggage through the shoot.
Luckily, that part of the process didn’t take that long. Now that we made it through the luggage drop off, it was time to make it through the airport security. I was scared that 1 person would have a bad thing in their suitcase and ruin the whole entire trip for everyone.
As we waited in the line for the airport security, I had a water bottle in my hand.
“Sorry, you can’t have that in there,” said one of the guards. I threw the bottle away, I felt bad for wasting half a bottle of water.
We finally made it into the airport security room. Everybody took of their shoes, put them in a tub, and also put their carry-on’s in the tub. Tub after tub went through the machine, then, what scared me to death, was the beep of the machine. One of the guards checked the bag that had “beeped”.
“Whose bag is this?” asked the guard.
“That would be mine,” said Haily sounding kind of nervous.
“This hairspray you have here, is a liquid. There’s a rule that you can only have a 4 ounce bottle of liquid,” said the guard. She didn’t sound all that surprised, I am sure that he has gone through the routine millions of times already.
“Oh, I’m very sorry. I guess I’ll just--” Before Haily could finish, the guard had already thrown the hairspray away. Haily walked away angry.
Besides the little hairspray mishap, there weren’t any more problems through airport security. Actually, after the airport security, there wasn’t anymore talking. Everyone was probably curious…along with myself. I was worried about what we were going to eat for lunch. Considering how picky I am…I hope there’s a McDonald’s someplace around here.
“Oh look, a food stand. I guess we’ll just have to do with hotdogs and pretzels,” said Mrs.Unger. All of us formed a big, humongous line in front of the cashier. And one by one, we stated our order. All of our orders were going on one receipt. And let’s just say, that was one BIG receipt!
I was curious about what the time was. Our flight leaves at 11 and right now it is…I looked. It was 9:30. I was relieved, surely our class can eat in an hours time!
And I was right. I am a very slow eater, so I just ordered something small…1 hotdog. If I would have gotten a big meal, it would have taken me about 10 hours to eat! Everyone managed to finish eating in 30 minutes time, so we have about an hour until our flight leaves. So, everybody headed off to our gate so that we could sit and wait. By the time we got to our gate, we had about 45 minutes until we would take off. The girls, they would sit around, giggle, and listen to each others music on their iPods and MP3 players. And the boy’s, they would talk about…sports, guy stuff, etc. But for me, I just listened to my own MP3 player. Most of the time, I would just listen to “Witch Doctor” by Alvin and the Chipmunks. Before I knew it, it was just 10 minutes before take off and Mrs. Unger came over to ask me to pass out our boarding passes. So, I passed them out. The girl’s, holding it with excitement. The boy’s, shoving it into their pocket carelessly. By the time I was done passing out the boarding passes, our section was already boarding the plane.
“Hey, wait up!” I yelled. Some older people gave me an annoyed look, but I didn’t care. I didn’t want my class getting on the plane without me. I know that you have to wait about 20 minutes for people to board. But I was starting to get really freaked out anyway. I rushed onto the plane, apparently a little to fast. One of the guards stopped me from my fast run.
“Boarding pass?” asked the guard. I gave them my boarding pass, and then continued my sprint.
“Wait a second,” started the guard. I stopped. The guard gave me my boarding pass back.
“Is there something wrong with my ticket?” I asked sounding scared.
“No,” said the guard, “I just scan it, and then give it back.”
“Oh!” I yelled. I felt kind of stupid for not remembering that. Then, the next section I entered was the plane. All the seats filled with the loud people. I slowed down from my sprint because I didn’t want to run into someone…The last thing I wanted was to get kicked off the plane. Then, at about the middle of the plane, I found all of my class. (I could tell it was them…I didn’t figure anyone else on the plane would be doing hand jives) I was so relieved to find them.
Chapter 4
I looked at the boarding pass I was given. Seat 17C was what the ticket said. I finally found my section and found Baily and Haily sitting together.
“Can I have the window seat?” I asked them. I liked the window seat. I thought being able to look down at the clouds was a pretty cool sight.
Of course, knowing Baily and Haily, they let me take the window seat. They probably wanted to be facing the center aisle so that they could talk to the people on the other side of the aisle; Sammi, Charlotte, and Kaily. Baily sat closest to the aisle, with Haily sitting next to me.
“Everybody please turn off all listening devices, cell phones, computers, and all electronics. Please buckle your seatbelt and put your lap trays in the upright position and please store carry-on items either under the seat in front of you or in the compartments above your seat. Make sure to go over the safety card located in the pouch in front of your seat. Thank you and enjoy your flight,” said the intercom. Everybody in the class looked at each other and smiled with excitement. Then a woman came out.
Then the woman spoke, “Exits are here and here,” she said pointing out specific areas. “ If cabin pressure drops, oxygen masks will drop from the compartments above. Put them over your face like this,” she said. Basically, it was a doctors mask with a string like thing above it. Then, a guy went walking around with a basket saying
“Ear buds anyone? They’re free!” said the flight attendant. Knowing my class, they each grabbed a pair. So did I, I mean, they’re free! Why not take a pair! Everybody knew what to do with them considering I have been talking about the flight for the whole entire week. They each plugged their ear buds into the armrest. Each of them clicked the buttons on the armrest trying to find a good station. Then, finally, I found Radio Disney.
I whispered to Haily, “Station 115 is Radio Disney, pass it on.” Then she passed it on to Baily, then Shaylee passed it on to Sammie, then Sammie passed it on to Charlotte, and so on until everyone knew about it. Although, I don’t know if all of them listened to it. I had a feeling all of the girls did, but the boy’s were probably listening to a sports game.
Everybody soon got relaxed listening to music, but then they’re eyes suddenly opened wide once the plane started moving. The plane was taxing it’s way down the runway.
Some people closed their eyes as if not liking the air pressure, some people looked nervous because of the new experience, and the rest of the people looked out the window getting excited to enjoy an airplane once again. I was one of the people who was excited to enjoy an airplane once again. Although, the air pressure was making my ears want to pop. My mom told me that chewing on gum helps your ears not pop. But, in my opinion, gum is nasty! So, I packed myself a big bag of tootsie rolls. I got the tootsie roll bag out from the backpack I put under the seat in front of me.
Apparently, I should have been more cautious. Haily was eye-balling me as I got out the bag of tootsie rolls. I took one, and popped it into my mouth. Then I popped 2 more in along with it.
“Can I have one?” asked Haily slowly.
“Well, OK. But just 1!” I said warningly. She grabbed a handful. Then Baily saw Haily’s tootsie rolls.
“Where did you get those?” Baily asked her. Haily pointed over to me. Baily eye-balled me as I tried to look innocent.
“Can I have one?” asked Baily slowly.
“No!” I answered back sharply. I knew her little act. Baily managed to wrestle the bag away from me and started sharing the bag with her friends. I got my carry-on back out from out of the seat and brought out my back-up bag of tootsie rolls. Yea, I come well prepared.
Take off was over before I knew it, it was quite a fun take-off being able to look at everything speed past you as you went up. Everybody, once again was casually listening to their Radio Disney, and snacking on my tootsie rolls. Actually, this type of silence continued for an hour. Although, according to my watch, listening to music gets pretty boring after a while. I decided since I finally got some silence, I might as well work. Luckily, I brought my Disney Park brochures so that I could circle all the stuff I wanted to do. I started out with the Magic Kingdom and circled attractions with my Sharpie. After about 20 minutes, I was finished with the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and MGM Studios brochures. Although, when the drink cart came by, I was bummed. My 20 minutes of silence were over.
“Drinks anyone?” The cart person asked. Everybody snapped out of their peaceful music listening. With everybody yelling their order to the cart person, the guy was pouring pops into cups willy nilly, mostly Mountain Dew. But in about 5 minutes, that dude was able to serve all of us. That is one pretty amazing dude…That’s got to be a world wide record for fastest serving time.
Along with our drinks, he also gave us a small bag of pretzels along with Biscotti crackers. For me, I thought Sprite, pretzels, and crackers were a very good snack.
After about 20 minutes, everyone seemed to be done with their snack and everyone continued listening to the radio. Then suddenly, everybody looked at each other awkwardly wondering what had happened. This was because the radio stopped working.
“Please fasten your seatbelts and put your lap trays in the up-right position as we prepare for landing,” said the intercom. Everybody was excited and started looking out the window. They were probably hoping that they would be able to see Cinderella Castle…I hoped that the first time I came by plane.
“I guess the radio turns off every time the intercom person speaks,” said Logan sounding disappointed. And her fact was correct.
We were zooming down. Once again, the air pressure started changing. Luckily, I was well prepared and already had one of my tootsie rolls in my mouth. Once we made it below the clouds, everybody, including me, started looking out the window hoping to see something special with the special overview.
The plane stopped zooming. The air pressure was back to normal, and we were back on solid ground.
“Welcome to Florida,” started the intercom person, “Please make sure to gather all of your belongings as you exit the plane.”
“Yes, welcome to Florida!” said one of the flight attendants as they stood up front, “Today looks like a pretty nice day, 85%. And make sure to have fun what ever you do.”
Unfortunately, we couldn’t get off just yet. The plane was still making it’s way into the airport considering the fact we just got off the runway. Everyone looked out the window, along with myself.
After about 5 minutes, we were finally able to get off. Our class gathered our belongings and got off quite quickly.
When we went inside of the airport, the “people who have never flown be fore’s” mouths’ gaped open. Let’s just say, the Orlando airport is one large airport. All of our class gathered around the directory. We didn’t know what we were looking for, but we looked anyway.
“Please sit down,” said Mrs.Unger. All of us followed orders. There was a set of four benches nearby. Everybody tried rushing so that they could get a bench. But those who didn’t get a bench just sat on the floor or stood.
“I forgot to tell you what we were doing with our luggage,” started Mrs.Unger. “We are doing a program called “Disney’s Magical Express.” The Disney Company will be taking our luggage to the hotel for us, and we will all be boarding a bus that will take us to our hotel so that we can check in.” Everybody’s reaction seemed to be a very happy one. I don’t blame them…I didn’t want to drag my luggage around either. “So, hopefully we can find some people kind enough to help us get to the “Disney’s Magical Express” bus.” All of the class, being willing to help, gathered around the directory again.
“Oh, I see it,” said Lily as she pointed it out on the directory. Mrs. Unger took out a notebook piece of paper and jotted down some stuff. I did the same, just to be safe. I wrote down which directions we needed to go to get to the “Disney’s Magical Express” bus. Luckily, I had my notebook needed for the research inside of my backpack, which just happened to be my carry-on item on the plane.
Mrs. Unger started walking, and we all followed. Everybody stood with their buddies. But, their wasn’t much talking, only whispering and pointing. With us living in such a small state with a small airport, we were amazed with the Orlando airport. We were most amazed with the large quantity of stores. Although, everyone stopped when they saw a Disney Store.
“Come on guys, you’ll find PLENTY of stores at Disney World,” I said. I was getting really scared. I was scared we were going to get left behind.
“But, they have candy in there!” said Bobby practically panicking. “I need candy!”
“Magic Kingdom has a confectionary! Now come on!” I said worrying. Bobby and everyone else who stopped just sighed and continued on. Luckily, we saw the last few people in line make a turn. So, we ran to catch up with them. Some elderly people gave me a look that said “What rude children.” But, I really didn’t care. I would rather have people hate me right now than have people feel sorry for me when I got left behind.
Mrs. Unger must be really good with maps, because she found her way without asking anybody. When I and my mom looked for the “Disney’s Magical Express Bus” on our last vacation, we had to ask about 2 or 3 people for help before finally finding it.
And the bus was already there! We didn’t have to wait out in the 85 degree weather for a bus, the bus was there. And empty seated!
When we walked onto the bus, everybody walked into the center aisle, but did not sit down. They were to busy staring. It was probably one of the nicest buses they have ever seen.
The seats were not like you average city bus seats or even your school bus seats. The seats were plush blue with swirling designs on them, supposedly shaped after a swirl-like looking trumpet. On the outside of the bus, It was painted blue also. It had the words, “Fantasia” on the outside and it also had swirl-like designs. On the back of the bus, It showed Disney characters waving.
And everybody’s favorite part of the inside of the bus…tiny TV’s! They were about 6 inch TV’s. But right now, the only thing it did was say “Disney’s Magical Express” and have the symbol on. These TV’s were spread out to about every four rows of seats. Of course, with everybody wanting to get a close view, the students spread out in separate rows. The teachers sat at the back of the bus along with some of the other students. Each person had a perfect view of a TV, which made me happy. I didn’t want to here any complaining anyway.
Right now, the driver was waiting for more people to come onto the bus. Although, our class already took up the majority of the area. After about 5 minutes, the driver must have thought “What the heck, lets go!”
He got onto the bus, but didn’t get into the drivers seat yet though.
“I will be playing a video about what you will be experiencing at your resort,” said the driver. And the movie started automatically. I was sitting at the very front of the bus so that I would be able to look back at people. I looked back, everybody had their eyes glued to the TV screens. I bet they’ve already had enough practice doing that.
It was a very adorable video. The video featured Disney characters including Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, Huey, Duey, Luey, Lilo, and Stitch. Basically, it was a video explaining about our hotel. It told us how to make reservations for restaurants, and what you can do at the check-in desk, and about what we can do at our resorts. I find videos like this very interesting, and by the looks of everyone’s’ staring, it looked like they found it interesting too.
I am very happy that we were the only group on the bus. If there would have been another group on, we would have had to make stops at the “All Star Movies” and the “All Star Sports” resorts to drop people off. But now, we don’t even have to wait! That made me very happy. After about 30 minutes, we started seeing some Disney property.
We saw road stops pointing out different areas of Disney World. And we were overjoyed when we saw the sign for “All Star Movies.” Finally, we made it into the lobby of our resort.
“OK,” started Mrs.Unger, “I will go check us in, the rest of you can go explore the resort as Mrs. Gray supervises. And by explore, I mean stay with Mrs. Gray. Stay in Mrs. Gray’s sight.” Let’s just say, we all rushed out of that lobby faster than a dog that saw a piece of cheese drop to the floor.
I was the tour guide of the resort. I took people to different sections of the resort to explore. Before I took them around, I told them a couple of things.
“Now, the All Star Movies Resort,” I started, “Is separated into 10 different buildings. Although, there are only five movies that the resorts are based on. Each movie has 2 building based on it. These five movies are Toy Story, Fantasia, 101 Dalmatians, Mighty Ducks, and Herbie the Love Bug. And the outside of these hotels are so cool! I really hope you brought your camera! The first section I took them to was the Toy Story section. I took them into a section that looked like an animated gate. On the door of the animated walls, It said “Andy’s Room, Stay Out.” We walked in, and it was a whole entire display of larger-than-life sized statues. On the left, in front of the building to one of the Toy Story hotels, was a humungous statue of Buzz Lightyear. On the right, in front of the other Toy Story hotel was a humungous statue of Woody. It had a blue gate around is, not to big, but just made to keep people from not climbing on him. They probably didn’t do this with Buzz because Buzz looked impossible to climb. Buzz was standing up and Woody was sitting down. Also, in the area, was a statue of little Bo peep and Rex. There was also a statue of letter blocks, three of them stacked to look like a lopsided pyramid.
“Are you done talking now?” Asked Mrs. Gray sounding kind of bored.
“Yes,” I said wishing I could have given more information. Everybody scattered out to take pictures of each other on the cool looking statues. Over next to the letter blocks were Baily and Haily. They had Mrs. Gray taking pictures of them leaning against the blocks. I didn’t want to disrupt their fun, but I had a better idea.
“No, that’s not how you do it. It goes like this!” I said getting ready to demonstrate. Those were some pretty big blocks, so it was really hard for me to be able to get myself up there using my upper body strength. Then, once I got on that one, I decided to climb on the one that was at the very top of it. That was easy, all I had to do was jump and use very little of my upper body strength.
Baily and Haily thought it was a good idea, so they climbed up onto the two side blocks. Baily on the left, Haily on the right. Then Mrs. Gray started taking some pictures.
After we were done taking pictures on that, we made sure to take pictures with all of the other statues. For Buzz, we leaned against his foot. Buzz had one big foot, and a round one too, so it was pretty much impossible to sit on.
For Woody, we would have climbed on his lap, but he had a gate around him. So we just ended up leaning against the gate.
Pretty Soon, everybody was done taking pictures with the statues.
“Should we go back to the lobby to see how Mrs. Unger is doing? I asked. I was sure that Mrs. Unger had to be done by now. It had been about 15 minutes and she was probably able to get all of our tickets and our hotel stuff in that amount of time.
Mrs. Gray agreed, so we all followed her back to the main lobby. When we saw Mrs. Unger, she told Mrs. Gray, “All I’m doing now is waiting for the service desk people to get our park tickets.”
There was no need to worry about us getting impatient though. Right at the side of the check in desk was a whole cartridge of park brochures. Everybody grabbed one of each brochure and started searching through them, looking to see what they would want to ride.
But that is not what had sparked my interest. I have looked through them things a million times already, but on the wall, there were lots of pictures of memories through Disney’s past. I walked over to the other wall. One picture showed a picture of Walt accepting his Oscar for his animated classic “Toy Story.” Another picture showed him accepting an award for his first ever animated classic “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.”
The rest of the pictures were very interesting also. A majority of the pictures showed pictures of Walt accepting Oscars. Other showed pictures of Walt on other special occasions.
When I was done reading all of the pictures and their captions, I saw everybody crowded around Mrs. Unger and Mrs. Gray…and they had a big pile of park tickets in their hands. I rushed right on over.
Chapter 5
Both teachers were yelling out names and passing out cards frantically…It looked like some students were about to plan an attack if they didn’t get their tickets soon. Pretty soon, they had all the cards passed out.
Everybody was looking at their cards, Along with myself. We were looking at the beautiful design, and the interested people even looked at the restrictions and the expiration dates on the back.
Mrs. Unger started telling some of the students that were close to her to tell people to listen up. As much as my class liked to “pass things on,” the word went by faster than e-mail ever could. Everybody was gathered around Mrs. Unger once again. Except, this time, people weren’t looking like they were about to attack.
“Do NOT lose these!” started Mrs.Unger. “These cards are both your park ticket and your room key. If you lose these, you are going to be in some deep trouble, considering that fact that you won’t be able to get into the parks. So keep these extra safe!” And I totally agree. If somebody were to lose their park ticket, they would have a pretty bad time.
Mrs. Unger continued with her talking, “We go into the parks tomorrow.” Some people were pretty confused.
“It’s 2:00 right now,” started Amy, “What are we going to do for the rest of the day if we aren’t going in the parks?”
I interrupted, “Oh wait, didn’t I show you the fantasia swimming pool yet?” Everybody seemed to be satisfied.
Then, an important question popped up into my mind, “What about our hotels? Who are we going to be staying in our rooms with? What hotel are we staying at?” I said, anxiously. I really wanted to know.
“Oops, I almost forgot,” Mrs. Unger started again, “We are staying in the 101 Dalmatians resort and I am going to read of the list of who is in what room once we get closer.” 101 Dalmatians…I thought. I was quite happy by this thought. On my first vacation, I stayed in Herbie the Love Bug (which I wasn’t all that happy about,) the second vacation I took, I stayed in Toy Story (which I was very happy about,) and the one I wanted to go to next was 101 Dalmatians. My wish came true.
Everybody follow me out of the lobby and I led them to the 101 Dalmatians resort. Everybody stared, including myself. Even though I have already seen this place, It is always enjoyable to look at. Next to the hotel, there was a humungous fire hydrant. No, not a normal fire hydrant that dogs go to the restroom on, this one was made of wood. It was see through for it was made with shingles, except they were lopsided to make the fire hydrant all swirly. Inside of the fire hydrant was a stair case, which was pretty obvious considering you could see it through the gaps of the shingles.
Also, by the building, were big statues of Pongo and Perdida from the movie. These were statues that were bigger than the building, just like the size of the ones in the Toy Story section.
Mrs. Gray yelled “Everybody over here!” I think both Mrs. Unger and Mrs. Gray would have been better off bringing their whistles, for it took a couple of times to get everyone’s attention.
Mrs. Unger started to read off which people were in what room. Although, I didn’t know who everybody else was with, considering that I didn’t really care. I just waited for my name to be called. “Room 846: Sally, Haily, Baily,”
I ran off to our room, 846. I knew the all star resorts very well; I knew which floor to go to. So, up to floor three was where I was heading.
Believe it or not, I didn’t use the elevator. The fire hydrant stairs looked cool, which is why I decided to go up those. I finally made it to the room, slid my key in the door, and walked inside.
