lag problems in vmk
i've noticed that vmk players have been so :Unhappy: unhappy about the lag

so i'm asking you do you think vmk should fix their "lag" problem?:Question2:

Yes, because say, oh, someone is in trade and lag gets them scammed!!!! Plus, it takes away from the time each day we have to play.

I had the worst lag experience I've ever had today in VMK. It was driving me off the wall. Everything freezes for a long time then people talk in super-speed @_@.

I wish they would revert back to the old system. Back when it took "longer" to log on and we had the DC. Even though DC was annoying, most of us were able to log back on...faster. And we didn't have to wait on this person's clothes to load, or that box to load etc.

Or, we should have an option. The old loading method and the new one. :P

yea i think that vmk should fix there lag problem but then again its not always vmk fault because some ppl have old computers and some, ppl have bad internet providers..... so its kinda of a 50/50 i seen ppl say ' Lag ' but i havent had lag when they do ..but what ever lag vmk give us i think they should fix!! :)

If they have enough resources and time - sure. Many other players and I would certainly enjoy it.

Lag problem are always a problem in vmk. I doubt it will ever be fixed, but vmk will try, and keep with their story that it's "fixed". But I voted yes, it should be fixed, even though I doubt it ever will lol.

Of course I think VMK should fix lag. Lag is so annoying!! Especially like during trades or games. So yes, I think VMK should fix lag.

Yes, VMK lag causes too many troubles and it gets other players a tad angry. It bothers me, also. So of course, Fix the lag.

All I have to say is: What lag?

I wrote to VMK about that. I had really bad lag when my furniture loaded. They told me to make a storage room, which made it worse. But really, how would they change it? There's really not much they can do.

Yeah, lag should DEFINATLEY be fixed.
Its driving me crazy!!!
And it especially takes FOREVER for those little blue tornados to load.. xD

What do you reckon VMK sohould do about the lag? There isn't any way I can think of that they can get rid of it, unless they degrade the graphics.

Yes, But I think its easier said than done. With the Amount of People on VMK i'm pretty sure it gets more difficult to control the lag situation. And also as some have said, different computers!!!! of course a new computer is going to load and be faster than an ancient one. I just recently got a new computer. And comparing it to my 4 year old one i had. Its Incredible! The difference in just loading onto VMK. It used to take me 5 minutes to load now i load in less than 1 minute.

It usually takes about 4 whole minutes to get into the game these days. That's serious lag, especially when I'm trying to get in to have a crack at high score in a game. Oh, and I don't have a slow computer.

As far as I can recall, VMK started having noticeable lag issues when they fixed the dc problem. I think the question is whether you'd rather have lag or have dc issues?

Me? I'll take lag over dc most days. The lag I get from the VMK servers isn't usually terrible anyway, so I don't have much to complain about in that regard. ;)

When VMK fixed dc, then all of this lag came.

I, personally, would rather have dc than lag because I could:


Log on faster.
Not lose points in pirates due to lag.
Not be afraid of being scammed during trade due to lag.
Buy things much faster.
See people NOT talk in superspeed. -_-'
Do magic and not worry about lag (only getting dc).

Yes they should and my computer does not help when I have problems with my shockwave player and every 2 hours it comes up and turns all black!

OK im all for reducing lag but............. all MMOG's have lag, its a fact of life

Well, however much I'd like to see it fixed, it's not really that easy to just get rid of it. There are so many factors in who gets lag (computer speed, internet speed, how many other programs you're using at a time, people logged in to vmk, their server speed/number of servers, etc. etc.)

Yes the lag needs to be fixed! Who likes sitting and thinking their computer might be slow or frozen sometimes?

I have went nuts in Pirates and Haunted Mansion about the lag. I have a 3.0 Ghz processor with 8gigs of RAM and some of the best gaming peripherals you can buy and I know it is not on my end. Oh yes and I use a T1 connection which is pretty tight for any gaming site. So yes I hope this is resolved someday because I know it is not my computer. I would just love to make 8500 points in fireworks just like GoofyGeggy, but because the lag is so out of control I can just barely make on a good day 6500. Of course I was always told by my grandpa too much of a good thing can ruin you, so I don't know. Hopefully in an age when we are sending probes to mars we can somehow see to it the lag situation is solved.

VMK staff members and programers messed up the game by adding the new loading and everything
I understand they are trying to make the game better but it really was like to trying to put out a fire with gas.
Basicly it didn't.
What they should do is revert to the old way the game would start up.

The reason about this is that during the start of vmk, there were a few people; then more people came in and more stuff were designed and selling out. So now, the servers they have at the VMK HQ, is being over filled with our data as we keep playing and more people join and buy more or copy the same data of the item to each person. So the cause of this is us. The only way to fix this is if VMK HQ put separate the servers into more which means there will be VMK clone but half the people in there and the original VMK with the other half (if you play Runescape, then you know what i mean); which will result to more room for our avatars data to do more stuff, meaning we'll won't have to handle Lag anymore. Also that we will do stuff faster without stopping and save time, load stuff much faster, load into the game faster, crash in rooms such as the music games (if it happens to you..), load furniture or other items faster, and other slow stuff.

So it depends if VMK does my plan or whatever, but YES, VMK should fix the lag problem.

but still, every MMO i know of has an amount of lag. I guarantee that if vmk had no lag at all to anyone, regardless of computer, internet speed and number of players on vmk, every other MMO company would want in on the secret, which, i would like them to find if possible. .-.

I THINK THEY ABSOTUTELY POSOLUTELY SHOULD!

They should Definitely fix the lag, Number one priority.
I don't know how many times i have been number two in line for a host room and crashed or missed my chance to get in the room.

The new system is not helping, its gotten worse!

They definately should fix the lag. It doesn't effect me that much, I don't know why, but I still want it to be fixed. And of course, when it does effect me, I'm waiting on line for a host's room or trading with someone.

Ok I just built a faster better mouse trap, I mean computer and the lag is there just not as bad as usual. My new Intel Pentium 4.0 Ghz platform rocks. But yeah the lag problem still needs to be ironed out. Even with 8 gigs of RAM I can still sense a bit of lag. ;)

Hmm, I'm not much of a technical/computer person, so I'm just wondering how VMK would go about fixing their lag problem:
Would this mean getting a new server?
A bigger or faster server?
Degrading the Graphics?
Limiting the amount of people in the Kingdom at a time?

Just wondering.

I hate lag so much especially in the Pirates game. I've gotten robbed out of 21 credits so many times...:( So, yes, definitely attempt to fix the lag problem, Staff. However, I'm sure they have already tried by now and have been unsuccessful.

Here is an odd twist. Has anybody else noticed that lag gets worse at certain times? (Besides the obvious peak user times like during host events and quests).

I've noticed that right before and right after something "big" comes out, lag is unbearable. By big, I mean a new magic, room or a piece of furniture that has a lot of animation (like the fireworks on the castle prop).

Friends laugh at me now on the dock when I can predict that something is coming out by the severity of the lag.

i hate lag and getting dc-ed or vmk crashing on me i never had that proplom until i got my new computer on my laptop i never had lag or got dc so i think the proploms sould be fixed by the vmk players if vmk fixed vmk probobaly would become pay to play

I 100 million percent think they should fix the lag. I feel bad when I go into a ride-a-thon room and will block off everyone else because I cant move. Fix the lag!

So this morning I am having the worst time getting in. I can get as far as the main menu when I first log in, but then nothing happens when I click on a destination and then VMK crashes always when I click on the guest rooms. Then it brings me back to log-in and i get the black screen. What is going on here - so frustrating!! (I think they need to fix this)

Of course I would want it to be fixed, but I would rather have the odd lag then constantly get dc.

Lag is your computer most of the time, and early in the morning, many players are logging on, so VMK has to load every character's information which causes extreme lag.

I'm serious about this.Ever since vmk is closing all you guys can say or complain about is the lag?! That's pretty low. There's more important things going on as well. Y'know that people who complain expect so much more even though they already get so much?
