Uh..

What about Sweeney Todd? That is my favorite Tim Burton film. That is way up there on the list of favorite movies, almost outdoing pirates. (Which is quite hard to do..)

How 'bout a shave?

Other than that i'd have to say Edward Scissorhands. Great film as well.

I agree, Sweeney Todd really needs to be listed as an option and if it were, I'd also select it as my favorite. I think Nightmare would be my second place, and Scissorhands would be third.I really need to see Ed Wood, though. That might shake up things up.

Hah, don't even waste your time with Ed Wood. I regretted putting that movie in my DVD player.

You also left out Beetlejuice and Pee-wee's Big Adventure. And maybe a few others I can't think of right now.

See it! Even if it is just for the fact that you get to see Johnny Depp in drag...

Hmm, it was SUPPOSED to be bad. Did you not get the the point of the entire movie?

EDIT:

Ok, I'm going to bring this up and play devil's advocate on this one.

Tim Burton has directed the following:
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007)
Corpse Bride (2005)
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005)
Big Fish (2003)
Planet of the Apes (2001)
The World of Stainboy (2000)
Sleepy Hollow (1999)
Mars Attacks! (1996)
Ed Wood (1994)
Batman Returns (1992)
Edward Scissorhands (1990)
Batman (1989)
Beetle Juice (1988)
Pee-wee's Big Adventure (1985)
Frankenweenie (1984)
Vincent (1982)

He has PRODUCED:
Corpse Bride (2005) (producer)
The World of Stainboy (2000) (producer)
Mars Attacks! (1996) (producer)
James and the Giant Peach (1996) (producer)
Batman Forever (1995) (producer)
Ed Wood (1994) (producer)
The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) (producer)
Batman Returns (1992) (producer)
Edward Scissorhands (1990) (producer)

He has WRITTEN:
Frankenweenie (2009)
Corpse Bride (2005)
The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
Edward Scissorhands (1990)
Beetle Juice (1988)
Frankenweenie (1984)
Vincent (1982)

While this is not a complete list of ALL films, it hits the top ones.

What I have found interesting for years is that he did NOT direct Nightmare. I was astounded when I realized that years ago. Because it still has the "Tim Burton feel" to it. Also shows, to me at least, the power that this man has. That you can look at a movie that he touches (Directing, Writing, Producing, whatever) and know that he was involved.

OMG! how could I have left out Beetlejuice! That's my favorite movie.
Should I make another one?

Let's not forget Vincent! :)

Vincent and Frankinweenie are both short films. The poll I did is for Tim Burton's movies, But I'm going to do one for the ones I left out later on this year. Is that ok?

I love Batman Returns. I am not a Tim Burton fan, but Batman Returns is my favorite movie. When I saw this poll I immediately signed in to vote for it.

Even so, it was like pulling teeth to get through that movie. I've watched some pretty terrible movies. That one just took the cake.

I have to say Sweeney Todd. That is like his masterpiece of the strangest musical to ever hit Broadway, with Johnny Depp. I. Like. Strange. Things. Don't blame me!

Hah, don't even waste your time with Ed Wood. I regretted putting that movie in my DVD player.

No offense, but you're pretty far down on the list of people I take movie recommendations from. Aren't you one of the three people in the western world who enjoyed Good Luck Chuck? And weren't two of those people Dane Cook and Dane Cook's personal waxer?

You also left out Beetlejuice and Pee-wee's Big Adventure. And maybe a few others I can't think of right now.

It's not often that Neoteny finds a way to make me feel like a fool (as I see it, 13 times a week doesn't quite qualify as "often") but boy, do I feel like a Grade A moron right now. Looking back on it, I remember Beetlejuice trying to break through as another obvious choice, but the fact that I didn't even consider Pee-wee's Big Adventure is enough to make me investigate the possibility of having a brain tumor. My sincere apologies to Tim Burton, Paul Reubens, and Mr. T, whose cereal is prominently featured in the opening scene of said film, and rightly so. In his honor, I officially pity myself.

See it! Even if it is just for the fact that you get to see Johnny Depp in drag...

I definitely plan on it. From what I've heard (from those whose cinematic opinions I respect) I really think I'd enjoy it. I like subversive oddities that display genius through their weirdness. That's why Neoteny is in my Fave 5.

Arg, I knew this! I read an article not too long ago about the special engagement at the El Capitan, and the premiere featured a panel including the director, who was not Tim Burton. Wow, if the cool kids at imdb ever read this thread, my hard-earned rep is gonna be in serious jeopardy. On the bright side, at least we made some room for Pee-wee.

I've watched some pretty terrible movies.

Almost exclusively. ;)

Only a Grade A, not a Grade A+? Pee-Wee...how could you forget that?

Ok good. I loved Ed Wood because it was odd and strange and everything that I love about both Tim and Johnny, if truth be told. Maybe after you heed my advice on watching Ed Wood I'll be in your Fave 6. I laughed so hard so many times I had to pause and rewind.

Yes yes. Only TRUE Tim Burton fans know this ;) Or those that take the time to read the opening credits! I just enjoy the opening credits because of my main man, Danny Elfman. <3

First of all, you got your facts wrong. I didn't enjoy Good Luck Chuck. The trailers completely mislead me into thinking this was a nice little romantic comedy, plus I liked Dane Cook. Boy, was I wrong. And secondly, one bad movie choice makes me the wrong person to get recommendations from? I mean I know we aren't all movie connoisseurs like you (:smiley21:), but can you honestly tell me you've never made a bad movie choice in your life? Answer me this, then we can talk.

Well, I'll admit to attending the grand premiere of Weekend At Bernie's II, but only because the original was so fantastic. Ever since that little blunder in '93, I can honestly say I've only exposed myself to the shiniest of cinematic jewels. A little research coupled with an intuitive sense will do that for ya.
