I am watching some Disney Channels, and I see NO Mickey mouse, whatsoever. Not even on Disney Channel, Toon Disney(House of mouse) Nowhere! Which brings the fact, Mickey is Missing.

Well, there is a show in the mornings called "Mickey's ClubHouse" or something like that.... but yes, I've seen no Mickey AT ALL in Disney Channel (Normal D.C.. Not the Baby one). Only thing I see is Hannah Montana ALL THE TIME. >_<

Mickey is in a difficult position. If they have him as a character in a regular TV show, each turn that his behaviour takes reflects upon the company that he is the one and only figurehead for. No longer can he be the michevious and oft-cruel mouse of the 20's-50's. He is too important to the company. Even on House of Mouse, he was just a host. He never really did anything, except in the shorts occasionally shown. But everybody understood that those shorts were modeled after Mickey's old days. But even then, Eisner feared for the saftey of the company, and House of Mouse was pulled.

So they can't really use Mickey for anything but as a figurehead because of those critics who are never happy and always find something to complain about. Disney wants their complaints to stay away from their figurehead, so Mickey is safest doing nothing.

I really don't get this thread at all,it's kind of confusing. I mean, first you're saying it's not on, now you're saying it is on.

yes disney does not want to make a mistake and accidently make mickey a bad guy considering the entire disney empire is based after him O_o mickey is just too riskey to use and jepardize his reputation as a good mouse of the happiest place on earth. :wave2:

What I was thinking was to send in a request for ' Classic Disney Week '
where they show nothing but classics 24/7 for a week!
Including the famous episodes that made Disney into what it is today.
I'm talking about Plane Crazy, Sorcerer's Apprentice, Wise Little Hen!

Why don't they have a new station that shows only the original episodes ( Steamboat Willie, ect. ), just like in WDW.

It's society. A mouse and his freinds doing cartoony antics is MUCH MUCH more violent than hotels exploding and boyfriends not being a clone of you!

:O!

Mickey's here. It's just that he's been rendered unrecognizable by the Wizard as punishment for messing around with his magic stuff...

(virtual cookies to anyone who can tell me what the above references)

Mickey's 60th B-Day from the '80's/90's where Roger Rabbit makes Mickey go missing. ;) Now where's my cookie!?!?

*hands AwesomeM a giant cookie*

Been a while since I've watched it, so I may not have had my facts quite right. My mom taped it off when it aired, so I grew up watching it as a kid (that and the Disneyland 35th anniversary special hosted by Tony Danza).

Ah, those were the days. Back when Mickey Mouse himself was crafting the various versions of the Mickey-eared television.

I do really, really miss Mickey. Seeing the new Goofy short with National Treasure the other day really made me long for some new stuff of the "main characters" of Disney.

My little girl loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, but, while I admit it's fun and certainly less offensive than most children's programming these days, it's just not the real Mickey. Know what I mean?

I'm glad we have all the old classic shorts on DVD. My daughter loves those, too. :)

I haven't seen the new Goofy short. Is it in the classic style? I mean, I know it's about a modern subject, but is it classic Goofy? Or is it that warped suburban father version of Goofy from the Goof Troop series? Or something even worse?

The character style felt pretty much like the classic, but of course the texture and lines were a lot more clean than the older stuff; you could tell it was new, but only because it was cleaner. They filtered the music and the narrator to sound like the old-time, echoey type sound, so that helped it feel a bit more classic.

Maybe after they make a few more...

What I want is a Blu-Ray special edition release of tons of old Disney shorts. You could probably fit about 100 onto a BD. And they'd look awesome.

They should change the symbol on Disney Channel to Hannah Montana's head...

We will find you, Mickey!

Their not afraid to kill hannah montana and hsm even though they are the symbol for disney channel, but they are afraid of killing mickey? In the process they are killing mickey and making him less well known. Right now I dont really care if its mickey or not as long as its classic disney, I am tired of the rude teenagers on disney channel. long live mickey!

It wouldn't make any money. Instead, they should just air them in between shows in the DC.
