Me too! I wanted to play the flute, but the classes were filled up, so I chose the clarinet.

For a few reasons I couldn't get the sound of the flute, the percussian try out was kind of.. weird, I was really loud when i tried the clarinet so i tried the trumpet couldn't get a sound out of that, and that is one of the lightest intruments considering I am very not strong and it wouldn't be very fun lugging a baratone around during marching band.

Baritones are actually kind of small and light

Tuba on the other hand...Its hollow and light, but not the best thing to play in marching band.

I can also do percussion; reading the rhythms is the hardest part, once you can do that you can pretty much play any percussion instrument that doesn't require a great amount of technique.

The great thing about music is you can totally teach yourself how to do it. The bad part about that is it makes alot of people play by ear, which is a not good thing. Learn to read music! hehe.

I'm a professional Tuba player, but can also play Euphonium (what some incorrectly call a Baritone), and Trombone. I took a couple years' worth of lessons on the Clarinet and Percussion, and feel that I play those fairly well, too. I also took Piano for eight years.

I can play Trumpet and Horn, but have a limited upper range since I'm a Tuba player. My flute skills are adequate, but not as good as my Clarinet/Percussion skills. My double reed (Oboe/Bassoon) skills are very low because I haven't tried...but would like to. ;)

I play the piano and am at grade 3 going for grade 5 :D

I play electric and acoustic guitar really well, and I play not too bad on the piano. I've also tried the drums and I'm really good at that too....I used to play the flute, but I couldn't take it for long. It was a very annoying instrument for me at the time, but I'm sure if I ever did pick it up again, I could be better at it.

i started in 4th grade i'm in 7th now.
i wanted to move 2 bass clarinet like my dad, but the band director said not to, and reccommended some sort of sax. Lets just say i stuck with the clarinet :)
i play around on the piano, i know all the notes and arpegios are easy-we're doing them in band- so im not bad but im not good either:)

A lot of people said I would be good at the piano because I have really long fingers. I never really had any intrest in it, although a lot of my friends who play have tried to teach. Its impossible.
I would say band is an excellent experience. You really learn to work together and they will always have your back. I will finally get my favorite band teacher back after breack. In elementary school we didn't have a band room so we played in the music room ( for all the vocalists ), bridges room, the stage in the cafeteria, and the closet in the gym ( it was really really tight ).

I have a guitar but I haven't learned how to play it. I'm pretty awesome at guitar hero =]]

I used to play the violin. But during my second year(last year) I wanted to quit. I ened up playing it until summer vacation. I don't play it this year. If I did I would have to carry it around from class to class, every day. Right now, my brother has an electric guitar. I want an acustic guitar, but for some reason my parents won't get me one. They say it's to expensive. A few years ago I saw and ad for an acustic guitar at a reasonable price, they still wouldn't get me it for christmas. Instead they got my brother's guitar. -.-

I played trumpet through middle school, and my freshmen year I played trumpet for marching band. Recently I switched to baritone in January. I'm actually better at baritone then trumpet, lol.

I play some trumpet, I quit lessons. Now I play a cream fender stratocaster, a sunburst Epiphone by Gibson Es-335, and some acoustic, But I find electric guitar a lot easier for some reason. I can play a little bit of Bass on my Dad's old Washburn Force ABT

I played the alto sax for Grade 9 Comprehensive Arts course. I liked it, but never found time to continue learning how to play it, let alone joining Jr/Sr band. Oh well; everyone told me I was actually decent at it too. Maybe if I find time I'll take it up again :D

Piano: I taught myself how to play. I can play almost any song you'd like.
Name it, and I'll play it! (Been playing since I was 4 years old, but sadly, my
piano just blew out on me and I have to get a new one. --cry cry--)


Drums: I've always been a good drummer, and a few of my friends have
drumsets they don't use, so I'm always happy to go over and use their
drums. And I can go really fast without it sounding insane! (Been playing for
years.)


Xylophone: No, I don't just play the little kiddie ones you buy at the store; I
play a REAL xylophone. I can actually play a real song, hit up to 2 notes at a
time, just like you would on a piano! (Been playing since last year.)


Guitar: I have an acoustic guitar which I like to call Stella. She's a dark
brown with pink, blue, green, and orange flowers all over her. I love to play
lullabies for my little cousin, and I love to write songs for my band on it. That
goes for all of my other instruments, too. (Been playing for 2 years.)


Bongos: I can play the bongos, yes, faster than the speed of light! Well,
maybe not THAT fast, but VERY fast. I don't think I 'learned' how to play, I
just kinda started moving my hands one day, and did it. Now I can play a
beat to any song! (Been playing since last year.)


Vocal: I count my voice as an instrument. I've never had a vocal coach, but
I never seem to miss a note! I've loved to sing forever, and I guess it paid
off, since I'll be in an audition next month! (Been singing since I was 3 years
old.)
