After a four-month long period of not playing VMK, I would like to say I'm back!
I had been busy with so many other things in life that I just did not have time
to play VMK. I like all the new features that have been added into VMK. I'm a
little surprised that my friends in the game still remembered me! But anyways,
let's get on with the thread here.
So after seeing what was new with VMK, I decided to take a ride on my old
Tokyo Disney Sea Tower Of Terror (http://www.vmkforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=90867) ride recreation that opened a little over a
year ago. It still seemed fun but then I thought "I need to make a new ride,
a recreation, but not that of a common ride, I want to make a unique ride
very much like my Tower Of Terror ride." So then I began thinking of possible
Disney rides that had not been recreated yet. But I came up with four ideas
and I can't decide which one to build! I like them all but I have decided that
I am only going to build one... for now at least...
And that's when you come in, I need you to read over my ideas then vote for
your favorite! This poll will close exactly a week from now. And after the first
room of the ride is done, I will hold a little "press event" party. Now let's get
on to the concepts!
#1 Journey To The Center Of The Earth
Real Ride Location: Tokyo Disney Sea
Actual Ride Type: Dark Ride, same technology used on Test Track and
the future Cars ride.
VMK Ride Type Planned To Be Used: Everest Track
Estimated Cost: 75,000 - 90,000 Credits
http://www.laughingplace.com/files/TDSJourney/P01-1.jpg
Description: Riders enter a large volcano excavation then ride
elevators several feet below ground. Riders then board vehicles and venture
through many tunnels that lead them to the center of the earth. Along the
way riders see many strange underground wildlife and plants. They even
encounter a large lava monster and then their vehicle speeds upwards and
then down a drop out of the side of the volcano! The story is based on the
Jules Verne Novel of the same name. I once attempted this ride for those of
you who remember, but I stopped due to lack of funds.
#2 Space Mountain (Disneyland Version)
Actual Ride Location: Disneyland
Actual Ride Type: Roller Coaster
VMK Ride Type Planned To Be Used: Space Mountain Track
Estimated Cost: 60,000 - 80,000 Credits
http://www.disneydreamer.com/disneyland/Space50th-wr.jpg
Description: In this ride, riders board rockets that send them
on a wild ride through space. This version of the ride will be based on the
one at Disneyland. One reason why I wanted to this one is because it is
my favorite ride at Disneyland. Yes I know this ride has been done before,
but I would make the track layout as real as the actual ride.
#3 Space Mountain Mission 2
Actual Ride Location: Euro Disneyland
Actual Ride Type: Roller Coaster
VMK Ride Type Planned To Be Used: Space Mountain Track
Estimated Cost: 70,000 - 90,000 Credits
http://www.attractionland.com/users/1/photos/space-mountain-mission-2_11_hr.jpg
Description: This version of Space Mountain is the most unique
Space Mountain of them all. It features longer trains and a launch
that is built on the side of the mountain. Based and the Jules Verne
Novel, From The Earth To The Moon, riders ride rockets that get
shot out of a cannon and into space. This is a much more intense
version of Space Mountain. I have never seen anyone make this ride
in VMK yet.
#4 Western River Expedition
Actual Ride Location: None, never built.
Actual Ride Type: Water ride, would feature boats very similiar
to those on Pirates Of The Carribean.
VMK Ride Type Planned To Be Used: Splash Mountain Track
Estimated Cost: 100,000 - 150,000 Credits
http://www.waltdatedworld.bravepages.com/3a0f1450.jpg
Description: A legend among Disney Park fans and Disney Imagineers.
They also consider it "the greatest ride Disney never built". Planned for
Walt Disney World, this ride would have stood where Splash Mountain stands
today. On this ride riders would board boats that would bring them on a
adventure through the old west. It was made by Marc Davis, a well-known
Disney Imagineer and Disney Animator that had been a part of Disney for
a very long time. This ride was canceled after years of planning because of
the size and cost, the complaints from early WDW visitors saying "Where's
The Pirates?" and that Tony Baxter, a well-known Imagineer that created
a lot of Disney rides, had a more affordable western themed ride idea, which
was Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. I thought of this one because the concept
was very interesting and it had never been done in VMK.
I know some people will be interested in ideas and want to make them too.
Feel free to, I'm not going to stop you, and there is nothing like a little
friendly competition!
So please post which one I should build, it seems I can't make a poll anymore...
