I have tested around with these the past 30 minutes and I think I figured most of it out.

Where to buy a gift-
Under Emporium Specials is where you will find the current present(s) on sale.

Red Surprise Present: 500 credits

How to set a greeting-
Each present takes up 1 space in your inventory almost like a teleporter and a magic pin. Choose a present and place it in your guest room. Double click the present.

Now there will be four different layout options:

Donald Card
Mickey Card
Holiday Card 1

Now click on one of the bullets on the bottom. Once the bullet is highlighted (next to the one you want) it should show up as that layout background.

Take your cursor and highlight the word "Gift" and press backspace to delete it. Now add your own titile.

Now you are free to type in your own greeting. Once you have your greeting typed you press OK.

REMINDER: You cannot go back and edit the present at all!

What happens after I set the layout?-
You are now free to trade it, place it in someones room, put it as a quest prize, etc.

How do I know who it is from?-
If you read the top of the message it will show who it is from and what date they typed it on.

How do I know the difference from each present in my inventory?-
If you double click the present directly in your inventory the greeting should come up.

Now you know what the greeting is when you place it in someone's guest room.

How do I know the greeting when I am in a trade?-
Click once on a present in your trade window. A new button will appear under the info about the item on the right side of the trade window.

You can press the button to see the greeting before you trade it to another VMK player.

What happens when I place it in someone else's room?-
If you place it in someone else's Guest Room it becomes theirs. You need to know which present you are placing (double click it to see the message before placing). Once it is placed in the other players guest room you can no longer have control of the item. You cannot pick it up, move it, or rotate it. If you place it down in the wrong room you might be lucky enough to ask the person for it back. They can then trade you it back.

If you set with donald layout, do you get a donald doll when you open the gift? if so, what do you get with holiday 1 and holiday 2?

A few questions for you:

1. Do you have to write a message? Like, can I put a blank one in my quest machine or just give as a gift, and will that person be able to write the card?

2. After I place the gift (with a message) in someone else's room, can they change the card and possible give it to someone else? (Not that I expect someone would, but you never know. ;) )

When you are in anyones room there is a place button, so basically you can place it in any guest room in VMK just the same way as you'd place it in your own.

1. Yes, you can put an empty box with no card in a Quest Kiosk.
2. No, you can't change it after it has been saved.

Also, I noticed when you write a title on the card, it will be in black lettering. If you want the original color for the title back, click a different card template then go back to the orginal one you chose, and the title will be in it's orginal color. (The same color "Gift" was written in.)

I bought one and wanted to see what happens when putting it in someone else's room. Instead of going to a friend I just picked a random person on the list, went into their room and dropped it off.

My question was quickly answered - you can put it in anyone's room, message or none, and they will own it after that.

I hope Ms Random enjoys the gift. lol

The red and yellow present is mickey mouse only. I think there was a blue one shown on the Ride-a-Thon this past weekend that had donald. I saw it in StitchMad's Signatures here.

That is the most explained section. You can place the present with a greeting so the owner of that room gets it. Once you have placed it in the other member's room you lose the rights to the item and it becomes the present room owner's. They can not edit the present greeting, layout, etc.

You can also place an empty one which they can edit later on.

1. You can trade, put in a quest, or even place a blank one so the new owner can edit it later on.

2. Once you give a present with a message it stays there on VMK permentaly. Where ever it goes in VMK your message will be there. I'm not sure if VMK staff can remove them though.

The Red Surprise Present has mickey that jumps out. A greeting that has been written by a fellow VMK Member will pop up. That is the gift.

Nope. He goes away after a few minutes. He also comes back up if you double click it again.

Just a few points:

If you put the present down in a friends room that you've accessed through a teleporter, you may want to message your friend to tell them to look in a certain room. If not, it maybe several months before they enter that room and see the gift if they don't know to go there.


Also, if you leave a present in a room, make sure to put it someplace they'll see it. Put it in the middle of the room, on table, or even right in front of their feet! Try not to tuck it a way in a back corner or have it mixed in with a lot of other furnishing where it will get over looked by accident. Your friend can (and probably will) move the gift after receiving it to put it where they want so don't worry about decorating their room with it.

that's a good point.. they need to know that there is a gift for them somewhere :)
