VMK was taking my life away. I missed 2 whole summers and a year's work of weekends playing VMK all day. Now I only get on during a holiday or when I have time. I wouldn't say you should quit, maybe just cut back.

No, if you can make a balance between VMK and your normal responsibilities.

No, VMK does not take my life away. I do school, play sports, and do other things. It's just a game, nobody should care about it enough to want to play it ALL DAY.

Sorta, there's not much else to do in the school week. On the weekend I get on in the morning and do something else in the afternoon.

It's not. I spend about an hour a day, and thats mostly only on weekends. Sometimes I go on in the week, but usually weekends. And if on weekends, I play usually only when everything is done.

Insanity i play sports too and stuff like that but still i think i should quit ignore the post above this lol

i used to play vmk from the second i got home till i had to go to bed however now i only go on in my spare time and special events (ride-a-thons, competition, trading events, and lots of new items) i would not quit but just simply cut back. it may be difficult to cut back but as u start getting used to real life it becomes real easy lol

If they hadn't made VMK into such a competitive must-have activity, then probably most of us would be much happier.
I thought, back in Beta days, that VMK wouild be a pleasant place to hang out and chat with Disney friends in a simulated Disney World.
But this "envy of the Kingdom" line they live by has made VMK just an acquistion game.
I am so disappointed.

I've been thinking about this lately also. But I'm staying on because I judge it on the following:
1. Are my school grades getting effected? No
2. Do I still get enough hours of sleep? Yes
3. Do I still get out of the house? Yes
4. Does vmk get in the way of my hw? Not that much
5. Does vmk help me when I'm bored? Yes

There are more but if you have similar answers then stay on. I've been getting on vmk for shorter amount of times lately but I still find time to stay on even if it is just for 10 minutes.

I must say that I am on VMK probably longer than I should be...

I wouldn't say that it takes away anything important in my life - I don't really have anything else to be doing while I am on.

I don't get on much when school is in session, but during vacation, I get on for a few hours every day. VMK doesn't affect my grades (in fact, I get straight A's).

Just cut back on your vmk time.. I used to be that addicted too. and I still am, but I spend more time on other sites now. LOL

VMK is game. If you remind yourself that, then you soon realize that it bears no significant value. And then, if you remind yourself that, you can get off the comp and off your butt.

Well let's see,im new to a new school and i have like 1 persons phone number.I don't have much friends and VMK is the only life i like at the moment.I have a skin condition>>Considered as 'Acne'.I don't go outside a lot meh grades are falling, I'm not very social.All i do is come home from school play till about 9/10 and than go to bed.On the weekends i play VMK like all day.It's just i don't have alot of friends...and not much people like me because of my Skin condition.I believe i'm not gonna live much longer, Even though im young.My life is horrible,I do not have absuive parents i love them very much.It's just VMK there are some people i can relate too.My brothers make fun of me because i play VMK, It's too addicting when i try to quit all i do after School is sleep.No 1 likes me, My dad works on his computer all afternoon, My mom is at work.My brothers are at College and highschool and they make fun of me because i play Online games.Everyone i love in my life right now are Virtual people.Yes i sound silly but,Im addicted and i dont know how too get Non-Addicted! Meh grades are very very low all ever since i started playing on the computer alot!

Well, I remember I used to come home from school, get a snack, and then I went straight to VMK. It was all I did besides school and sports. But this year I spend more time doing other stuff, although I do think I need to stop watching so much TV and playing on the computer so much so I can spend more time outside and excercising. My grade haven't suffered much though.

VMK took up most of my time about a year ago, but then I suddenly got sidetracked and stopped coming on often. I still go on occasionally; but now I really only stay on the fansite.

If anything; I'd say limit yourself. Get homework and chores done before you play =3

I only go on weekends now because of homework and piano.
Right now, I'm on Winter Break, so I'm free!
But, I usually take breaks in between to play piano or to eat.
Besides, there isn't much to do on VMK, so if it's boring I just log off and do something else.

Yes and no.
I think I've played just about everyday since I joined in 2006... (I don't really have any friends, I'm not allowed to go outside, and I don't play any sports, lol, so what else is there to do?).
But the internet had taken my life away a long time before I found VMK, though. Lol

heh vmk opens in the between afternoon/evening so in the morning and afternoon i get to do other stuff :D

i dont have much friends outside either about 10 that is it because hardly any kids live here >_< but at least i got a lot of friends in school and a lot of cousins.

Lol I remember when I used to play on VMK 24/7, but since my 10 year ban I have hardly been playing at all. I still go on my other account to get like weekend pins and just say hi to my friends but that's all really. I have better things to do now and I want to socialize in the real world.

I just got my stitch hat and it feels....it feels...stale. Like when you eat something too much you never eat it again. I doubt if anybody knows that, but that is what it feels like when i play. I just got great christmas presents, so that is keeping me occupied. I don't go on as much.

It doesn't exactly 'take away your life' unless you've become so addicted to it that it prevents you from getting things done that need to be done, like homework or chores. Otherwise, it's really just a matter of what your parents say about how long they want you to be on, or how long you want to stay on.

I wouldn't say it's taking away my life. If I thought so, I wouldn't be playing as often as I do. I don't do any sports or activities, which leaves me more time to play VMK.

Though I am on a lot, I would say VMK doesn't take away my life. The main reason I go on VMK is because I am bored. I do have friends, but I'm more of the "wait for someone else to call me" kind of person rather than the "call everyone I know until I have plans" person. It's not really something I am proud of, but it's also not something that is easy to overcome.

I mainly say VMK does not take over my life because:

1. I can stop anytime I need to, or whenever I think of something else to do (which is also a problem that I mostly only stop when I think of something to do, but in a sense it shows that I'm not really "addicted")
2. I would never say no to any outside activity because of the game
3. My grades are still the same as they have been
4. I have no problem having to force myself to leave the computer for sleeping, food, or just a short break (or anything else, actually)

Though I'm saying VMK doesn't take over my life, I'm still not happy with myself for relying on the game for most of my entertainment. I'm trying to become more involved in things like school clubs or sports. If I join things like those, I will have other things to think about rather than just VMK and other things to look forward to during the day.

Uhm, no it doesn't. Lately I've only been on because of the new stuff, but it's gotten so boring over the months that I don't care about it anymore.

I only go on all of the fansites that are avaible for VMK. xD

I only log on VMK to see my friends, or if I'm really bored, like over breaks, weekends when I have nothing better to do, or during the summer.

VMK can't technically 'take your life away', but it can rule your life. It rules mine, and I'd have it no other way. Reality is for those who can't handle fantasy. VMK lets me escape from the world, and the world is a crooked place @_@.

Or maybe it's just that i dont have a life to take away.

lol, that's also pretty much me, too. My only chance to ever make plans (well, not really, but you know what I mean) is during school, and only like one of my friends is in any of my classes. It kind of makes things hard.
