View Full Version : Guests Treated Unfairly
SuiteStarr 12-16-2007, 01:55 AM Ok I never realized how mean people are to guests! I made a new account today and was playing pirates and this girl booted me from her team.. heres the conversation.
Me: Why did you boot me?
Her: bc you know nothing about the game and you will make me lose..
Me: uh I have probably been playing longer than you so dont judge people by their title.
Her: I have been playing for ive years!
Me: If you knew anything you would know vmk has not even been open for ive years.
- i join other team -
- she boots me -
Me: scared your going to lose now?
Her: no i like a challenge and you know nothing..
It just made me really mad.. feel free to share your stories about guests being treated badly. :xmikec:
acenima 12-16-2007, 01:59 AM yup, also i know someone who had lots of rare stuff and was requesting a title change, so their name was guest###### and some people that that person hacked.
don't play with people you don't like, make your own game or join another. don't be sad be glad.
SuiteStarr 12-16-2007, 02:34 AM yeah but it is fun to see peoples shocked looks when I am pretty good at pirates =D. lol
gabyta 12-16-2007, 02:39 AM It' sad but true :( People judge guests for their condition of "guest"
Friez 12-16-2007, 02:42 AM Yea, but sometimes they act all "I know more about the game than you" and I get so angry at that! Yes, I understand that we should all be treated the same, but it's annoying sometimes.
TBs_Creation 12-16-2007, 02:42 AM There was one day that i wanted to see what it was like being a guest ( I had rare items on that account ) So i went to a trade room and said '' Looking for teleport magic '' . There was a guy there who then said '' LOL '' and asked me to trade. Then i put in my offer and he but in the magic and he said by dictionary dancing '' Omg you idiot guest you cant be that rich i hate you'' and then i stopped trading. At least i got a good giggle out og it:xmikec:
strikemaster 12-16-2007, 02:46 AM While I was a guest for the first time, I got to level 3 pirates, and I played a CL, and when we got in game shekilled me and said "guests can't play me, Im more big than little guests" and she kept killing me the second we started, and NO ONE said it was unfair...and yes, she singled me out. But, whenever a guest joins a game that I have, even if there is an unfair number of players and they all say to boot him/her, I wait for another to join because I have played guests a lot, and you can learn a lot from them, in fact, I bet there are players who have just started out as guests now, who are WAY better at pirates (and kinder) than us!!!!!
~Strike
SuiteStarr 12-16-2007, 02:48 AM yeah! lol speak the truth! Its a very interesting experience when you know alot about vmk and you get ppl acting like you know nothing..
strikemaster 12-16-2007, 03:02 AM But guests are more likely to not notice the rules.. ;)
You know, since they are new to it and all.
Ahh, yes, but they are supposed to read the values! lol
SuiteStarr 12-16-2007, 03:14 AM =/ how many people do you think actually read the values lol
SafariLyssaOnVMK 12-16-2007, 03:16 AM People think that guests don't know anything.. Don't they relize that their account might have been deleted or something so they made a new one? BTW, lol about the pirates. VMK has only been open about 3 and 1/2 years.
Acepowerboy 12-16-2007, 03:22 AM I was just playing Ghost game with a Guest and the person was really good at it we played a few game and did the tree rounds and got over 5000 credits total, my point is that some Guest are better then me in the game so I don't judge anyone. We all where at that point of being new.
Khaki_footed 12-16-2007, 03:23 AM it's not been open for 3 and 1/2 years.......the 2nd Birthday for VMK was just a few months ago.
i usually try and play on the same side as a guest if nobody is joining them. i'm not the greatest at pirates, but they shouldn't be left out. i'm competitive when i play so i do get a little perturbed when they kinda sit there. some are new so i give them the benefit of the doubt.
flaxygirl 12-16-2007, 03:40 AM I remember once i was playing pirates and this guest created a game. And like everyone joined the other team and she was like "Just because im a guest doesnt mean i'm bad!" and i joined her team and we won! ;)
gabyta 12-16-2007, 04:31 AM I remember once i was playing pirates and this guest created a game. And like everyone joined the other team and she was like "Just because im a guest doesnt mean i'm bad!" and i joined her team and we won! ;)
I had a similar situation but in my case the first one who died was the guest.. he wasn't very nice by the way. (I'm not saying that all the guests are rude or anything like that)
It's funny how some people are even bigger newbs then the guests.
acenima 12-16-2007, 05:06 AM =/ how many people do you think actually read the values lol
i sure read the values! you must read the rules before you confirm with anything or its kinda like fraud!
if you havent read the rules please go read them. once i started reading rules i felt powerful that i can explain to people and be a role model. :D
i hope you learn your lesson, don't come crying:xcry: to me when you get banned or something because i will just say "i told you to read the rules"
rules are very important
peepsdancez 12-16-2007, 11:37 AM Not like I'm against guests or anything, but if you make a new guest account this is what you're asking for.
Unfortunately, there is no way to know how long you have been playing or how good you are.
People will judge you by your title and stuff.
GryfindorGal 12-16-2007, 12:15 PM Yeah, sad isn't it? I play on my newb people all the time. I usually crush the other team in pirates. LOL. Some people in VMK don't get that just because they have Guest in their title, they're new. They never think about a name change.
Whipstersh 12-16-2007, 12:47 PM =/ how many people do you think actually read the values lol
To be honest, I read them after the fact. Until then, I just used my common sense to think whether something would be G-rated or appropriate for a Disney game. Sadly, there are many people who don't even do that much nowadays...
waffles 12-16-2007, 12:49 PM guests that ive had encounters with i have played pirates with and they arent the greatest sports. -.-
OstrichSam 12-16-2007, 01:13 PM When I made my side account, OstrichGal, and I was a guest, my character was green and in the esplanade this girl comes up to me and says "u so weird u green dumbo guest". I just left the room, but sheesh, the nerve of some people! If I really was new, that would have kept me from ever playing the game again. A lot of times guests are treated unfairly, but I do agree that sometimes guests are pretty rude..especially in pirates. But it's not only guests that are rude. I've seen long-time players be just as rude as any guest has.
bee2u 12-16-2007, 04:12 PM Actually, many of the guests these days aren't new, because most of the truely new people have the premade names like LilacLemonCake. I think most of the people with a guest title are people creating another account or getting a name change.
Mooshu 12-16-2007, 04:41 PM =/ how many people do you think actually read the values lol
Heh, i read the values.. it's not that bad!
But, yes, i think guests are treated unfairly.
CuteTabitha 12-16-2007, 04:50 PM I made a guest account to see how 'rich' people react. Well I went into this room and there was a bunch of people with rare. And they told me to go away and stop bothering them. Well I was not bothering them.. I just sat in the room listening to their conversations. They kept making faces like O_o or -.- . Then this boy with inferno came up to my guest account and said "You should change you face," And I said Whats wrong with my face? And he said nevermind.
--------
That is so rude how people do that to guests. Guests should be treated FAIRLY like everyone else. :princess:
lucky33325 12-16-2007, 05:41 PM I feel they are being treated differently a bit, but they deserve it.
When your playing pirates, when you win, they say " no " 50 times.
Or if they win, they go " Haha! IN YOUR FACE YA "Beep!" " -.-
And when you make fun of them, they start to make up the worst come backs ever. >_<
Narnialucygirl 12-16-2007, 05:46 PM i guess some guests don't respect VMK Values cause i've been in places and boy guests ask <inappropriate things>. Also they could just start calling people mean names that might be another reason why they're treated badly
Epcotfans 12-16-2007, 06:00 PM omg i have a few stories i was on my magic_parade account when he was a guest and i know alot of stuff from 2007 vmk and they are like u are a guest u know nothing! omg alot of people woh are not guest can act like little babies in pirates i was playing with a few people i beat this dude he said <something inappropriate>!!
Encyclopedia 12-16-2007, 07:31 PM Five years? I guess she just decided to fib as she went along. Usually to add insult to injury, they compare they're gameplay duration to yours when it's usually false.
EtnaGreen 12-16-2007, 08:06 PM Well when it comes to pirates most guests are better than me, wait i think all guests are. How can people say they know nothing about pirates, when they know the same things as you ( everything you know is in the rules )? It's amazing how much nicer guests are, one day i got on my new account. I decided to do an experiment and ask for free and see who is most generous. 25% of them said they were going to report me for asking for free. Most of the rich people said no or said rude things. And most of the new people ( who have basically nothing ) gave me free. One time I went into a cute or boot room wearing not so rare clothes, and i said i would leave if they didn't start the game. So this one girl who was kind of rich said no one cares if i leave. So I told her I was going to give her sparrow but now she can forget it. Then she said i didn't have sparrow. Then i put on my sparrow, and she was said like you would have given it to me. So i said i was leaving vmk. Its amazing how nice people are to you, if your rich.
Whipstersh 12-16-2007, 08:28 PM One time I went into a cute or boot room wearing not so rare clothes, and i said i would leave if they didn't start the game. So this one girl who was kind of rich said no one cares if i leave. So I told her I was going to give her sparrow but now she can forget it. Then she said i didn't have sparrow. But the question is: Were you going to really give her sparrow?
If you were really going to give it too a random person that would have been nice.. but to brag about giving something that you wouldn't give isn't what I would recommend x:undecided:
LadyNikki 12-16-2007, 08:44 PM People are quite rude to guests :( It's sad to see how people judge others.
sunshine_chic21 12-16-2007, 09:17 PM yah it is true.
Like in POTC nobody wants to be on the Guest's team. And one time, i was a guest, and I went into a trade room for no reason, and they're like, "Hello, this is a place for trading, not for stupid guests" Gawd was I mad
Teselo 12-16-2007, 09:21 PM I honestly hate it when people are rude to new players. I understand getting a little annoyed when they're deliberately rude to you, but I've seen some people be really mean to guests that didn't even say anything to them.
Ali-Rae 12-16-2007, 09:27 PM Well, to be honest also, when I first joined, I didn't read the values. I read them after I started playing. I mean, I'm not going to say any personal information in VMK, that's just common sense @_@
EtnaGreen 12-17-2007, 09:51 PM But the question is: Were you going to really give her sparrow?
If you were really going to give it too a random person that would have been nice.. but to brag about giving something that you wouldn't give isn't what I would recommend x:undecided:
No, I did it to teach her a lesson to treat everyone nicely. If you were really quitting and you were going to give it to her, and she was rude to you. Would you give it to her. I was preparing her for the future.
black33 12-17-2007, 10:49 PM Yes.. guests are judged a lot because people think that they know "nothing"
but sometimes you have to face it.. you can't be good at everything on VMK
PaperClip 12-19-2007, 02:59 AM There's a rant on this subject...somewhere.
Oh well, I agree with this entire thing. Guests are treated so unfairly. I know that most of them are new to the game, and most will probably need some help, but that doesn't give others the right to not let them play the games that they had to play when they first joined the game.
I just wonder what would happen if all of us (members, with names) got our names suddenly changed back to Guests, and the new members had real names. xD
iImagine 12-19-2007, 07:12 PM I agree that they're treated unfairly - I'm guilty of treating them that way.
The thing is, these days, most Guests aren't real guests - they're just n00bish players who got banned on another Guestish account and come back and act like idiots. So I treat them badly - they deserve it because they're not playing the game the way it's meant to be played.
Real guests, real new people, are easy to spot. The behaviour difference between a Guest and a "Guest" is phenomenal - you could pick either out of a crowd.
So I'm kind to real guests and cruel to fake ones.
Taaada.
Shartruse 12-20-2007, 04:38 AM I hate (Yes hate) people who act like they know more than you do. I didnt play Potc for a while once and i was playing with someone from day 1. Anyways we lost the game and he said to me "Omg that was the first time i've lost at potc. You stink at potc. Go play with the guests. You'll never play on my side again." That made me very angry.>_<
