View Full Version : Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus
Ali-Rae 12-16-2007, 12:43 AM So recently I started thinking about this because tickets started going on sale for her concert here. If you saw my previous thread, I went to a Jonas Brothers concert. Those tickets were reselling (on the internet) for about $400 dollar PER ticket.
Getting back to the point, Miley's concert tickets sold out BEFORE going on sale. Ask me how this is possible, so many tickets went to Miley's "crew", so many tickets went to radio stations, and so many tickets went to fansites (that you have to pay to be a member) So therefore, there were about 11,000 tickets total. well only 5,000 were actually sold. my parents bought tickets at the EXACT time they went on sale, and boom, they were sold out.
I thought Jonas Brothers were more popular than Hannah Montana? Do you know how much money this girl is making? The second these tickets went on sale the second they were on the internet! and unlike the Jonas Brothers tickets, these weren't selling for $400 dollars a ticket, these were selling for $7,000 a ticket! And yes, that's seven thousand. It's not a typo. and people were actually bidding on them! not only a few people but about 20 people per auction!
I didn't know she was this popular! I totally love hannah montana, I have nothing against her, so it's kind of dissapointing when you can't get tickets for this concert unless you win them over the radio station O_o (everyone and their grandma were trying to win them over the radio station, people were actually crying when they won them, lol) This isn't a rant saying "ew, why is she this popular?" This isn't a rant at all. I just want people's opinions on what they think about this.
EtnaGreen 12-16-2007, 12:55 AM Personally I find this very weird. My friend's neice was going to go to a Hannah montana concert ( she got the tickets off ticket master ) and she was unable to go because of the weather ( I felt so sorry for her, as much as little kids worship her ). On the other hand if her tickets are really selling this high its probally because parents see that their kids worship Hannah Montana, so what do they think is the perfect gift ( aparently a hannah montana dool will not do ) they get them hannah montana tickets. Some parents will do anything to make their children happy.
OstrichSam 12-16-2007, 01:41 AM I heard about the prices for these tickets, I think that's crazy. I know she is popular, but they are taking advantage of her fans by making them pay so much. In my opinion, the prices for these tickets should be less, at least by $100 (so $400 would be $300) or even $200. Hannah Montana is in high demand, and whoever produces the shows obviously doesn't need the extra 110,000 dollars (or however much it is, I'm not too great at math), but I guess that business is business, no matter how much you make.
SafariLyssaOnVMK 12-16-2007, 03:02 AM well, I think that is redicoulous(sp?). See, the problem is, Hannah Montana is so popular that people are buying tickets and then selling them for about twice as much as they paid for them. I know, it's sad. And, yet...people still pay for them for $7,000...:thf471fd564zf:

matey 12-16-2007, 03:40 AM I don't have anything against her but why would people pay that much to go her concert, I mean you can always listen to her music 24-7 on disney channel.
Visions 12-16-2007, 03:50 AM That's how HSM 1 concert tickets were somewhere I heard of.
They were out of their minds pricing them
And these were front row tickets.
Disney has major money invested in HM/MC and JB! $$$$$
My Honest Opinion: I wouldn't pay over $3 to watch her perform.
Ali-Rae 12-18-2007, 08:26 PM well, it's kinda cooler to see people perform live then on a radio. expecially if you get to meet them!
Jamarocker 12-18-2007, 08:33 PM I wanted to go to one in my area, only for JB, but, anyways, was unable to go because of the tickets being sold out in 30 seconds and being so expensive. My parents would never pay over $40 for a ticket.
Two of my friends went, came back, and said that she wasn't as good as she could've been. At least they went for JB.
I would've been cool to go though.
Pinkglitter 12-18-2007, 08:45 PM Uh There we limited seats for miley fan club Miley world
KrazyLuke 12-18-2007, 10:10 PM I bought tickets for one of the concerts that was around my area. I got them just to have and if I couldn't go then I would just end up selling them. Well, the concert was just a week ago (12-11-07) and it actually wasn't that bad. I am not a huge fan of Jonas Brothers or Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana, but I enjoy any type of music, so concerts are the place to be for me no matter what is being played.
Just for some clarification-
MileyWorld only gets a limited number of premium seats that go on sale during the presale date. These goes pretty fast as they are very limited, and NO people actually get them- not just scalpers ;)
Radio, News, Entertainment, and Sponsor stations/businesses always get tickets for these type of concerts and events. They don't get thousands like you are making it out to be ;)
Regular onsale ticket dates believe or not the tickets actually go to the real fans, and they out number these ticket scalpers greatly. Most people get tickets for the regular running price when they go on sale- it's just that some people do not and the parents of these children make a huge deal out of it to get attention :) - Proof being that a parent is actually willing to sue the MileyWorld site (people will do anything for money).
Scalpers- there is not much you can do about it. This goes on with all concerts and especially those most popular for the year. Believe it or not this Best of Both Worlds concert is actually one of the best concerts of the year. Also-- Not all scalpers are bad people; I know somebody that used to buy tickets and try to sell them early then if they dont sell by the concert date the price will be lowered within an hour of the concert(s) or they'd go and enjoy the concert themselves :)
(Again.. people will do anything for money, and this "business" actually may be helping somebody maintain a somewhat "good" life.)
Anyways here is my exprience with getting these concert tickets. I got on when the official sale date hit, and I was on Ticketmaster at 9:45 waiting for it to be 10:00 and fight for some tickets. The clock hit 10:00 and I refreshed the screen- put 4 tickets and Best Available- long and behold I was waiting in a 7+ minute line behind many other hopeful people. It was finally my turn and the screen came on with the 4 tickets I have been waiting for.. without hesitation I clicked the buy button and they were mine. I then tried again after processing the tickets and by the time I got through my next search you could barely find single tickets. So again- it's luck for such a popular concert.
I'd also like to Thank Miley Cyrus and those who make this concert happen, because many people don't know that they give $1.00 for every ticket bought for every concert to City Of Hope, which goes for Cancer research, treatment, and education. If you think about it- that's a HUGE amount and affects and helps many many people :)
The Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour is a 54-city concert tour across the United States. If you think about on average that there is about 10,000+ people at each concert and they give 1 dollar for every ticket sold that's a lot of money. Here's the numbers...
54 x 10,000 x 1 = $540,000+ for the "fight" against Cancer :)
-- It's truly amazing if you think about it. Also sorry that I got off topic, but I thought I'd just share this wonderful information!
Caterpillar AEIOU 12-18-2007, 10:31 PM I am Actually GLAD that this whole ticket inflation resell thing happened. It is getting SO MUCH attention because it involves kids, but this has been going on for YEARS.
Super Bowl tickets resell for $10.000.00 and UP! ( each) No one really ever complains about that. Most of those tickets got to executives, sponsers, the networks and ticket brookers. Even season ticket holders of the 2 teams, have to enter a lottery to be able to get tickets.
Maybe now that ticket reselling has hurt kids, something will be done about it.
Mizz.V 12-18-2007, 10:54 PM I got 2 tickets and boy was I lucky to get such good seats! Ofcourse it was presale for miley world members. Bookers is all I have to say they have a software for buying 1,00 tickets a minute so they are very rich as well. Hannah Montana tickets though many people go crazy for. I think why becuase the Jonas Brother are her openeing act.
Ali-Rae 12-19-2007, 02:03 AM yea, i didn't know jo bros did separate concerts, they had one in our area a few weeks ago. it was just jo bros, nothing at all about or to do with hm.
TheFireworkZach 12-19-2007, 02:13 AM My Honest Opinion: I wouldn't pay over $3 to watch her perform.
$3!!! You would have to pay me to see it. It is odd to see that Disney has invested so much money in this as I wish they would invest money in some movies that actually had SOME quality of movies that came out 10-15 years ago at minimum. Honestly, 85% of Disney movies and every single TV show is rubbish (probably the worst word I could say without going over the top, which I would if this site was not G rated..), 10% are decent, and 5% are pretty good.
Disney, you need to make better movies. And about the people who bought $7,000 for Hannah Montana tickets, you need to learn how to use money. You could have probably gone to Disney World and Disneyland and still maybe have some money left over if you are smart with it.

Nobody bought those tickets that were that going for that much. Ever since I bought my tickets I have been keeping an eye on the prices people are asking- the most I've seen was $3,000, and guess what? They didnt sell :) The people that didn't get tickets didn't pay those high prices- that's why they are getting attention from the media- they are getting angry and starting to sue ;)

$7,000... Pay me that and I'll maybe consider it although I would say no.

Actually, people were buying them (from the internet) about 20 bids per ticket!
KrazyLuke 12-19-2007, 05:55 PM Actually, people were buying them (from the internet) about 20 bids per ticket!
They don't sell like that though. I've been researching tickets like this for many years. Most of the time the tickets are fake also- so if you are looking at an auction site such as.. eBay- don't believe everything you see. Also many tickets found on "Ticket" sites are fake. Sometimes you will even find the exact seats you have on the internet supposedly being "sold".

Hannah Montana is way more popular than the JoBros... for one, she's been in the spotlight longer. And, Jonas opens for her at her concerts.
EtnaGreen 12-19-2007, 09:06 PM She has been in the spotlight longer? The Jonas brothers have been around a lot longer.
KrazyLuke 12-19-2007, 09:15 PM She has been in the spotlight longer? The Jonas brothers have been around a lot longer.
I believe what they were trying to say is that Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana has been in the "spotlight" longer as meaning being "recognized and known". Jonas Brother may have been around longer, but their "spotlight" doesn't add up to Miley Cyrus'.
