This is the message I got when I used "contact us" to find out when my second month ban due to personal info. The Wiki says that 10 year bans are unjnown and myths. lol, I think it needs to be added to by someone. Here is your proof! Pretty common, like I wrote it...NO! I don't know if this is the right forum topic. Please move to correct area if not.

ok i think this funny cause if they ban you until lets say 2009 you lose your acoount anyways becasue you don't log in for 6 months yea you can use log in name but you have to make a new character

Same happend to me but not permanent, I got a 10 year ban. But some people said that if you wait a little bit like after 2 months they'll lift it. Thats what my cousin said and a few people on this site. So maybe check it everyonce in a while every month and maybe it'll be lifted.

To me it sounds like they know VMK won't be here for a while.

At least a couple years back, I got banned for 20 years.
Yes, 20 years - although, it wasn't me.
I was on vacation and the day I came back ; banned till 202- something.
But I got a new computer so.. yeah.
Also, every ban has it's own purpose; although contact us can make it clearer.
But I do agree that maybe the 6th or 7th ban should be 5 years, they go up by 2-4 every next ban.

A 10 year ban? Not something to be proud of and post. It also says "since your previous bans have not improved your in-game conduct....." That obviously means you have been banned multipul times ( because it say "previous BANS" ) and have failed to learn your lesson. So, I'm going to say it is a fair ban.

They don't always delete accounts after six months I have a community leader on my list that hasn't been on in about 9 months, and she isn't banned or she would have lost her leader status.

Yes, I beleive its unfair if your ban was unfair, their are a lot of kids that like this game and want to continue, we always make mistakes.

No, if you did somehing horrible and gotten many very bad bans. if you hacked and you know it then you deserve the ban.

Not to be mean but this ban is fair rules are rule and everyone who breaks them must face the consconsis (however you spell it). I not saying this to be cruel but i know if you slipp up once it not your fault and if they ban you that stinks but the only reason the had to take major actions is because they don't have time to look at it and try to figure it out if the actions were accident or on purpose. They have to set an example and unfourntaly it was you who had to be tested on. I am sorry for the loss of your account cause i know it stinks but rules are rules.

I think it is fair, sorry to say. If you got banned two times for the same thing, then you did it AGAIN- a 10 year ban is perfectly fine.

Then i sent them a message through contact us:

I really do not think I scammed anybody. Check the chat logs if you would like."

The next day i went on to find it was now a 10 year ban.

Yes, I still think it's fair. Apparently they reviewed the situation during the second ban and decided that the only way to stop it from happening again was a permanent ban.

That doesnt sound right... ...if it were me I wouldnt have even made a new character. I would have just given up right then and there. But then again Ive never gotten anything free in a free room. I personally think they are scams just to get people in the room. Many times Ill spend an hour in line, and the owner will just act like theyre going to throw a dance party or some other sort of game. Its like when they get enough people in their room, they change the descriptions

...though a scam, not 10 year ban warning. I would say an hour ban would be fine... ...but your ban seems odd, he didnt even threaten to report you if you didnt give it to him... ..and whos to say he reported you? If this is your first ban, theres a lot more to this story that we, you, need to find out about, keep asking them for more details

O_o i keep spelling "color" like colour ( even though i forget colour in American hasn't got a u in it so i get confused and ask people LOL ) and everyone is like YOUR FROM ENGLAND!!!!!! So.... then i get a warning and it's a bit dodgy because it isn't my fault vmk spells colour like color which i find really strange..... i've only had two warnings though O_o One for......... somebody saying something in a room and my second one was for........ the colour issue....... i think vmk is getting a bit out of control i mean, we're only kids, it's a bit horrible for them to ban an 8 year old or something for 10 years O_o I wouldn't do that, it upsets them and everything, my brother is already completely depressed that he got banned for 1 month for saying "we have a time difference" i MEAN WHAT????????? Sure i'd understand if it was something major....... but if it's something like a first ban????? 10 years isn't fair, especially if you have EVIDENCE you didn't do anything wrong lol.
But when you think about it vmk is only trying to protect you from mistakes you could make to put yourself in danger (personal info thing), so you can't blame them entirely for trying to prevent you from doing that. People can't say that's impossible because there is always the risk and chance it could happen.
But the "scamming" thing is just completely stupid if you didn't even do anything and you have proof O_o. ( I don't know what exactly happened but say you didn't do anything and you had evidence )

I have the same problem..I'm not used to spelling colour as color I'm in Canada and we also had a spelling test about Canadian spelling. VMK is going all American, like there isn't just America in the world! There are TONS of people outside USA who play VMK! Even once my friend was trying to make her name ColorfulSunshine but she kept spelling it like ColourfulSunshine, and VMK kept turning her down. >_<

I just ahve to say how ridiculous that is. I mean, yeah, when I hear the world "colour" I automatically think Great Britian... ...but lots of countries spell it like that. Yes Canada is a big one, but austrialia, ireland, pretty must all of the eastern hemisphere as they learn the queens english thanks to the british empire in africa and south asia... ...anyone in europe learning it as a second language uses it as well. So you very well could be from anywhere.

I dont know what the big deal is if you are from england or canada.... ...or that poor guy who was banned for saying he lived on an island... ...its too vague. No one can find you with that info. If its strickly a US game, then every single registered user is supposed to be american, then we should all be banned for claiming to be one! Because the US is such a small country you know? only a small hundred or so live here. It would be very easy for a bad person to get us.

The longest I have ever been ban was 1 month, they never told me it was a year! Is it a glitch or something? And if it isnt why would they let you back on?

Ive had 2 10 year bans, but 1 wasn't my fault.

On my first account i was doing great and then i went on holiday for 2 weeks and i try log onto vmk to say hi and its like you have a 10 year ban. Im Like What!! and even if you try resolve it with vmk, i asked them to look at where it logged on 99.9% of the time (My computer) and where it logged on 0.1% of the time and having no previous bans gets a 10 year ban.. Like Whats up with that....... But i have 2 computers so i started again.

On my second account i was also doing great, lots of good friends, great items and 1 bad day i say 1 wrong thing i think it was something as less as ' Omg what is up with the stop.id pirates, gad i always lose ' Bam after a few bans before, a week and a month i suddenly 10 years.. I can even get a screenshot for you. But How Is That Vulgar Language!! I told vmk it was really extreme and they said they were sticking with it, i was saying gad as a shortened way of egad.. And now on my third computer i have this account..

So you tell me, were either of them unfair or am i just being an idiot thinking i shouldnt be banned?

Nope, I'm banned. Forever. I HIGHLY doubt they will unban me before VMK closes, but if they do I'll give out every rare item I own to people who want it, if it makes 'em happy, ya know, to "repay" VMK.
