This is a good-sized emergency...
About 43 of the songs on my IPod are missing.
I tried re-syncing them, buying them again, etc.
I tried calling the company, but they didn't care that much.
And all the songs that are missing are the ones that I bought and listen to regulary. The rest are from my cd's which I don't listen to that much.
Can someone PLEASE help because when I try to buy new songs, it says IPod sync complete but the song is not on my IPod. I'm kinda bugging out right now and I think I'm about to cry. I <3 my IPod and I need help.. Please?

So, are the songs still showing up in your iTunes Library, or are they gone from there too?

They still show up in there?

So try this, i have had this happen before. Somehow someway the format of the songs were not the right format for my ipod
so i took my Nero ( or any other program you wish to use ) and i changed the format of the songs back to the proper format. IDK how this happens but it has to me with videos on my ipod also.

if that doesn't work let me know i have other suggestions :)

Which iPod do you have btw. I have the 160GB Classic.

I'm rather new to the iPod, but isn't there an option to completely wipe out all the information on the iPod & make it have the factory settings? Try that and then re-sync your entire library on?

Or you can manually (which will delete all of the song in your iPod), but then you can add all the ones you want back in there. Hope this helps

Is your iPod Connected to Mac or Windows?

check two things:
- do the missing songs have album names?
- are the missing songs tagged as 'part of a compilation'?

songs without album names may not show up like you would expect under "artist" on the nano and video ipods. you need to have album names in order for them to be accessible via the "artist" directory, especially if the artist has one album and a bunch of other songs with no album name. (note: if the artist has multiple albums as well as other songs without album names, you can access the album-less songs via "artist/all"). this is likely the problem you're having -- assign any album name to these songs (even a single character "~") and you'll be ok.

nothing is wrong with itunes. the ipod just won't sync the songs, even though it says it did.

Ok, this is fine... It appears that your iPod FirmWare is now corrupt. There are many sites that offer iPod FirmWare but the one that I recommend the most is just to open iTunes, connect your iPod and press Restore.

connect iPod, then in libary click album you want and drag it to your device. drop it in iPod. It should go in there.
Also, do you have more than One computer that you use for iTunes? If so that might not be the one that the iPod is connected to.

if i press restore, it says it will erase all my songs and data... would that cost me money again?
