I never heard them brag. When Brady is interviewed, he doesn't credit himself; he credits the team as a whole.

To be honest, I would love to see that more than a superbowl! As we all know (when we aren't trash talking) any team can be beaten on any sunday. The 16-0 thing would be so cool to see, the superbowl would be gravy!

Everyone knocks you when you are the best. That's why so many hate the Patriots. Jealousy. In America, we love to see the best knocked off their pedastal; I don't know why.

The Patriots are very good. They score and score. Their defense is a little shaky, I think. But they can outscore anybody. That Steeler defense that got smashed last night was the best in the NFL.

Dallas is also very good, the best in the NFC, anyway. Really good QB, WR and RB. the defense has been good. And you can't discount the Colts, who are also still a very good team.

Super Bowl Prediction: Dallas vs. New England (maybe Indy?) in a high scoring affair. Should be fun to watch for a change.

They knocked the Niners, the Cowboys, the Redskins, etc. when they were all winning multiple Super Bowls.

The Patriots got lucky. Not only should the Ravens have beaten them, but the Eagles should have beaten them as well ( my favorite team ). The Ravens made dumb mistakes and so did the Eagles. The Ravens should not have made pass interference in the endzone, and the Eagles should not have thrown in interception on the third pass of the game, and throw one at the end of the game. The only way the patriots will lose is if they lose to the Giants.

Honestly, I think the New England Patriots are better than any other team in the NFL by a pretty long shot even if they are cheating (They don't need too, they just don't want to win, they want to win by 40). Anyone who says they are lucky isn't thinking straight. They beat a good Pittsburgh team, they beat a good Colts team on the road although that was pretty close, they beat a good Cowboys team also on the road and I think that was by 20 points. The closest they have been to losing in a pathetic way was to the so so Eagles. Oh, and they had a Ravens team who just displayed their anger of a Patriots team that pulled off another win with some calls going their way.

Looking at those touchdowns New England got in the Pittsburgh game, they ran some pretty decent routes including the Moss touchdown that got them to 14 if I am correct.

The Patriots are not over-rated, and honestly, I don't really like them but they WILL go 16-0. lol

I keep seeing a few posts regarding if they played the Dallas Cowboys they would lose, and if I remember correctly it was a close game until halftime and then the patriots completely opened up that game. The Dallas Cowboys only loss this season was to the New England Patriots. The following are the games New England Patriots have played so far this season, and so far they have played almost all the best teams both the AFC and NFC have to offer (i.e. New York Giants last game of season):

New England Patriots 38 New York Jets (3W-10L) 14
New England Patriots 38 San Diego Chargers (8W-5L) 14
New England Patriots 38 Buffalo Bills (7W-6L) 7
New England Patriots 34 Cincinatti Bengals (5W-8L) 13
New England Patriots 34 Cleveland Browns (8W-5L) 17
New England Patriots 48 Dallas Cowboys (12W-1L) 27
New England Patriots 49 Miami Dolphins (0W-13L) 28
New England Patriots 52 Washington Redskins (6W-7L) 7
New England Patriots 24 Indianapolis Colts (11W-2L) 20
New England Patriots 56 Buffalo Bills (7W-6L) 10
New England Patriots 31 Philadelphia Eagles (5W-8L) 28
New England Patriots 27 Baltimore Ravens (4W-9L) 24
New England Patriots 34 Pittsburgh Steelers (9W-4L) 13

- Zach I'm pretty sure I was thinking straight when I watched the Pats almost lose to the Eagles and Ravens. Yeah they destroy all the good teams, but an unstoppable team does not lose to under 500 teams. Also, the Ravens had no calls go their way. They got pass interference in the endzone in the 4th quarter. That's not going to their way. I can agree with you that the Pats are the best team in the league, but don't tell me that teams were lucky to get close to beating them.

I also Hate How They Rip The Team After The Game Saying They Stink They Complain To Much, I Think Thats A Great Value. How About They Go Eat Some Respect Pie Instead Of Humble Pie. They never rip the other teams. The only team they ripped were the Steelers after their two defensive players bumped and pushed Tom Brady when they were frustrated.

The thing I hate is how Bill Belichick dresses like he's homeless.:xgrin:

I have to disagree. I love how the coach dresses, lol. Snazzy looks don't mean much and he is one guys who's proud to show it.

That sweatshirt of his could be auctioned off for a whole lot of money one day, haha.

I also don't think they want to win by 40 points... it just, happens. Besides, the last two games were pretty close in terms of the score.

The most exciting game of the season and the closest the have probably came to actually losing was against the Eagles AT HOME. They only won the game by 3 points and they had an oppertunity to lose the game. The calls didn't go to Ravens way but still, you can't completly blame that, they are a 4-9 team with lack of offense with the loss of Ray Lewis (Ironicly, who is helping the Cleveland Browns to a 8-5 record and a very good chance at making the playoffs. It was a roll of the dice, but still, it must have taken some skill to get into that position.

Let me put it this way, the Patriots have gotten lucky this year, but still, they would have to have some sort of skill to get themselves into a situation which led to luck, that is a part of sports, there are good calls and bad calls and in the case of the Pats/Ravens game, it was just the referee saying that the call happened.

It is hard being a ref, trust me, I am one.

1971 (VI), 1977 (XII), 1992 (XXVII), 1993 (XXVIII), 1995 (XXX)

Personally, I think its really difficult to start comparing different decades of teams, and feel it could potentially be a different topic to discuss. Growing up within the New England area I will always be a New England Patriots fans, especially after going 30 years without ever winning a superbowl championship (i.e. Team established 1972 didn't win first superbowl until 2001). Then having the Boston Red Sox going 86 years without a championship I think people can understand why our area will cherish these moments while we can.

One team you completely overlooked above was the Pittsburgh Steelers, especially back in the 70's. This team was probably even more dominant than the Dallas Cowboys or New England Patriots. Just view the superbowl's below through the 1970's. This team won 4 superbowls in 6 years which in NFL history no team has ever done, even if the New England Patriots win the superbowl this year it would be 4 superbowls in 7 years. The Pittsburgh Steelers have won 5 superbowls all together as a franchise:

Superbowls = 5
1974 (Super Bowl)
1975 (Super Bowl)
1978 (Super Bowl)
1979 (Super Bowl)
2005 (Super Bowl)

Although, I am a New England Patriots fan I think the Pittsburgh Steelers through the 1970's maybe the best team ever put together...You can also still argue the best team all time probably between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys:

PITTSBURGH STEELERS (SINCE 1945)
Superbowls = 5
Conference Championships = 6
Division Championships = 17
Playoff Appearences = 22

DALLAS COWBOWS (SINCE 1960)
Superbowls = 5
Conference Championships = 10
Division Championships = 18
Playoff Appearences = 28

I would probably give the edge for best all time franchise to the Dallas Cowboys, especislly since their conference, division and playoff appearences are higher....Also, Since they where not established until 1960 and have accomplished much more in a shorter period of time...

Then again, The initial start of this thread wasn't who is the best NFL team all time, most successful, etc it was about the patriots being unstoppable and what you think for this year :) The New England patriots have already won their division, clinched a first round bye, and are one win away from clinching home field advantage through the AFC playoffs. They will at least get two weeks off before their first playoff game since the patriots and colts will bet the 1-2 seed in the AFC. The question for Bill Belichick is does winning three superbowls (maybe more), the team's record over 6 years, and all the statistics they break this year enough for the history books and patriots legacy to sit out players the last two games? Or does he need one more entry into the history books for being another 16-0 team but risk playing all his starters these last few games instead of resting for the playoffs?

UPDATE 12/12/2007 2:07PM
Forgot another team here, The San Fransisco 49'ers with both Joe Montanna and Steve Young...They are another team with 5 superbowl victories spread out...

5 - 1981 (Super Bowl), 1984 (Super Bowl), 1988 (Super Bowl), 1989 (Super Bowl), 1994 (Super Bowl)

The bears actually MADE it to the Super bowl Pats were KO'd.
Bear down, Chicago Bears, make every play clear the way to victory;
Bear down, Chicago Bears, put up a fight with a might so fearlessly.
We'll never forget the way you thrilled the nation with your T-formation.
Bear down, Chicago Bears, and let them know why you're wearing the crown.
You're the pride and joy of Illinois, Chicago Bears, bear down.

Well, I actually hate the Pats, not just because they beat my team (Eagles), but because half of their fans came after they won three Super Bowls. However, I have nothing against Brady or Moss. They've won their three Super Bowls by field goals. That shows you how good they are against good teams. Not this season. They've even been beating good teams by a fair amount of points. The past years, I thought they were overrated. I don't think that now, but I still don't like them.

I hope they end up 15-1.

I'd like to laugh at them if they did.

Third quarter. 31 to 13.
Watch out Steelers.
:xgrin:

Hmm. I have a feeling that they will be the next undefeated team since the Miami Dolphins.

Don't be ragging on my Steelers. They played a good game they just got outplayed. And Ravens What a way to blow an interseption. That hail Mary oh man should have been a touchdown. And the pats cheat by not releasing the injury report, against league rules..

They are playing the New England Patriots next sunday right here in New England.

On another note, How does the Baltimore Ravens lose to the Miama Dolphins today in overtime? They played such a great game against the New England Patriots and the last two weeks after that game have done nothing but laid a big egg...They are horrible!
