You can actually thank Xiaolin for the great images and idea for this. I just turned on an unused feature on the forums and uploaded the images. Probably going to be doing some tweaking with this over the next day or so.

I remember these from various forums besides this one. There were multiple groups you could join, allowing you to be ranked according to your post count. Such as a Star Wars example would be for people with 100 posts or less to be a storm trooper, 100-200 posts be a sandtrooper, 200-500 be an imperial guard... so on and so forth. There were multiple different categories to choose from, such as Lord of the Rings or Star Trek also. Each of these would include a picture/graphic that would display and wording to tell which rank it was.

In my opinion, this would make a great addition to this system, so that members could pick which group they would want to join (most likely not Star Wars on here, but perhaps another category - more disney related).

Just a note, if it hasn't been noticed already by Batelth. In the post above, for example, there spoiled is right under members, but when other people have them, they go across. Just to let you know!

You get them by joining the Groups. Like Traders Mick, Ranters,Spoliers,etc. But not everyone has gotten them yet. But i do believe you will at some point.

Sorry, we won't be going with a rank system based on how many posts you make. This will only cause a reason for users to spam to get to the next level. Frankly, we've got enough spam to feed the world as it is, so no need to make more.:xwink:

Everyone starts off with a base image with goes off their primary usergroup. Mods, admins, registered users, etc.

In your userCP under group memberships, you have the option to choose to be identified as being part of one of the joinable groups for each of the members forums. Rants, Spoilers, Trader forums, etc. If you choose one of these to be identified by, then you'll get a corresponding image on your profile to that group.

Example: So a normal user with trader micks will have members and trader-mick images on their profile.

That may be so, most are members of several groups, but you only get to pick 1 group to be displayed on your profile and posts.

You are only allowed your members to show an one of the groups your a member of. To choose one you can go to your "User CP", then down to "Group Memberships", then near the bottom of the page you see a section called "You may choose to be identified as a member of the following groups" click on one that you wish to be displayed at, and click on "Update Display Group".
