For Christmas, my mom said she was going to give me an extra present, a wii or a Playstation 2 with DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) Extreme 2. She said I could pick either, and I dont know which to choose. Which do you think is better? Wii or DDR?

PS2 with DDR, trust me, I have both of them, the Wii is too expensive, a better birthday gift, PS2 with DDR is inexpensive, and has more games than the Wii will have for about 5 years. PS2 all the way, and this is coming from a hardcore gamer.

It is impossible to get a Wii really, hardly anyone gets them because of the high demand and Nintendo not making them fast enough. Stores dont have many, so if you even asked for a Wii.. and you actually got it? Wow you got lucky.

If it was me, I'd choose the PS2 with DDR or get the Wii and save up for the Wii DDR. But, Wii games are more expensive.

Hmm, I own both, and think it's a pretty even tie.

The Wii has games you interact with, but it doesn't have any good DDR games.

The Playstation doesn't have games you interact with, but has good DDR games.

We own the medal pad, ( Cost more then the Playstation! ) because we were hardcore DDR's... but then we got tired of it I guess.

Yea, if you're gonna get DDR. ONLY get the Medal Pad! My pad slips too much.

Get the wiiiiii! LOL. The Wii is just so much fun. Instead of making you sit there, slobbering on yourself as you shoot people, it has you get up and move around when you play the games. As far as like getting a console for a specific game, I think that is insane. What happens when you tire of the tire? You have a console you don't play. Yes, while the PS2 has LOTS more games, it's also been out a LOT longer. Nintendo has some GREAT stuff coming up for the Wii, so don't give up on it. :) (BTW, I'm completely addicted to my Wii and I still hold to the belief that once you try a Wii, you must buy a Wii!)

Ya but 360/ps3/pc share almost all of their games, wii has the best first party games. Twilight princess metroid prime 3, mario galaxy, and the best to come is smash bros. Halo is so over rated, sure cod4 is good, but there are rumors that cod5 will be for wii, and mohh2 is one of the best moh games i have played. And now that the wii is flourishing it will start to get more 3rd party support, while ps3 is slowly dieing, and the fact the 360 has a large chance of rrod really stinks, and 360 u have to pay for xbox live. And now wii is going to get the unreal engine which should help it out. But anyways, If you choose ps2 have fun with the last gen games.

Ddr for wii ftw?

If you are going to purchase DDR, I'd suggest purchasing DDR Max 2, not a newer version. Newer versions may have newer songs, but the fun-factor is lacking. DDR Max 2 has Kakumei, Max Unlimited, Break Down!, and others that never get old. Sure, Supernova 2 has Eternus and iFuturelist, but they get old pretty quick, and are relatively easy.

I was never fond of the Guitar Hero fad, never really wanted a Wii to play it on, and never even attempted to play the game because of my liking of DDR. During a song on DDR, the notes go upward, contrary to the downward motion of Guitar Hero. Yes, I know the scroll can be changed, but that's a pain.

I'd take the DDR with PS2 over the Wii, with optional gaming. ;)

might as well get the next gen system, and then just save up for the new ddr for wii.

you should get the wii may cost alot of $$$ but it is worth it. and it's a family fun system. youre whole family could play.
yes we know adults dont like games ( expext my mom! lol ) but the will would tell them "COME PLAY ME, PLAY ME I LIKE TO BE PLAYED" then they would play with all the cool games and movement in the system.

Wii has only been out for a year now there will be tons more games to come:)
ps2 has been out a long time, thats why there are so many interesting games
Wii has its cool game Wii sports, Super mario galaxy, Guitar hero 3 and Mario party 8

Better than most ps2 games, and it's only the first year for the wii.

WII get the WII plus its got tons of games

There is a DDR for the Wii (Hottest Party), and honestly the Wii has better features (motion-related games), and it's a pretty new system, so it has potential..
So yeah you should get the Wii and maybe save up for DDR for the Wii. =]

I have the Wii, and I love it. Sure most games might be rated E, but that really doesn't have to do with the quality of the game. Like a rated M game isn't neccesarily better than a rated E game; unless you love violence. o_O
