Hello, I got a 24 hour ban on VMK (with only an hour and 33 minutes left), but I have a question, can you walk through the gingerbread doors? Like do they open??

No, they don't open. But they do light up with two different light patterns! ;)

A friend took Monsters INC. doors and placed them in front of the doors so they go inside his house.

It works just as well too.

Another idea is to place an Alice ride start and teleporter directly in front of it, to give the illusion of going through the door.

So far, VMK has made very few items players can walk under, and none of those are stackable. Basically, there are no bridge elements. To create a working doorway in a stackable item would be to create a bridge, and they haven't shown that this can be done. The best suggestion is to put a teleporter in the doorway.

The problem to making a "bridge" it is that if an item can be put on top of it (like a carpet or chair) then when you click in the occupying space, should it stand under, or sit stand on top? all of these items are activated by the space they take. It is the same with walking passed it, should it walk through or over (if covered with a rug).

Just a matter of how it was initially designed and trying to come up with new logic for certain items.

I suppose they could put in a control panel (as they have on the animated objects) to let the piece know the builder's preference, and include a default setting.

The problem is that this gives you a one-way door. What would be great is if they made Monsters Inc-like teleporters out of gingerbread. Yeah yeah... I know... dream on.

Me too, I was so hopeful when they came out with the Alice Ride heart halves, but knew ahead that they would need to do something special to accommodate it.

They could create a no transformation teleporter that would work well enough. Just have the person *poof* disappear, then *poof* reappear at the other end within the same room.

I think the main reason for the teleporter transformation is to allow the room to load before they have gone through it (some rooms take a long time to load)

Can you imagine how much that would revolutionize our room building?The problem is that this gives you a one-way door.Actually, you can make it a two-way by facing the ride start away from the door, then doing the same thing with the other teleporter and start. This requires double-clicking on the teleporter itself to operate though, which is not something a lot of players expect.
