I have been on VMK for quite some time now and have never had a problem with it. However, tonight when i logged in it came to the loading screen with the VMK sign, like usual. A window popped up saying:

Direct Player Error
---------------------
Can not set this property

#useAlpha


Does anyone know what this means or how to fix it?

I've never gotten that before, try logging in again? Or, try logging in on another account to see if that account gets the pop up as well.

Yup, still the same thing.

When i got on vmk today i wrote in my username and password the it went to the loading screen, it said this

Hmm..I am having the same problem. It is happening for all members of my family, and we each have a few characters. None of use can log in. Any help would be appreciated!

I ran into the same problem.

I was able to solve it by switching to a different machine that had a different graphics card. I don't know if this is the solution, however, but "alpha" does sometimes talk about a graphics feature.

Some things to try, but I don't know if they'll work:

Make sure you have the latest shockwave player
Write to Contact Us. (The least likely thing to work.)
Try changing the graphics on your machine to use more colors (even if you have to use a smaller screen size).
