I'm researching for an independent story about VMK which I will be posting to this site. Since I've never been banned, I don't know how to describe it in my story! @_@ (I did receive a room warning message before)

Can someone tell me what happens? Do you get a message telling you you're banned? Do you get booted off immedately? What does it say if you try to log back on while you're banned? If your whole computer is banned, what does it say?

If you have screen shots (or a pretty good idea of what the messages are), it would be awesome if you could share them and I would consider putting your character in the story for a cameo appearance.

One time when I got banned, it just closed down for me like a dc but no dc message, then when I tried to log back on it said I was banned.

Other times it just shuts off and says your banned which once you see that you get the most gut renching feeling ever. you have like so many butterflies and stuff. well i did lol. Then you go to see what you did on Contact Us and they make up something or claim to say what you did, then you hate vmk and dont really care about it for a second. Then you sit there at the computer wondering what to do yelling "my life is over!!" lol no not that, but I did sit at my computer and wonder for like 10 minutes then I went to go talk to my friends on a different site. I can try to get a pic of the 10 year ban for you! lol Hold on let me get that picture ;)

Well, here's how it is when you get banned.

Your computer just boots you off immediately, the screen turns black, and this sign pops up that kinda looks like the dc sign, but it says "You have been banned for..." and it says whatever you did, and says when your ban will be lifted.

It's kinda like getting dc, except it's more sudden.

The feeling when you read the sign is... "ulp.. oh no I'm banned what am I gonna do! it's the end of the world!", especially if it's your first time getting banned, kinda like what destination said, butterflies, gut wrenching feeling.

If you try to get back on, it loads and everything, up right until just before you're about to enter VMK.

This sign that kinda looks like the dc sign will pop up, saying "This character has been banned until.." date your ban will be lifted. Something like that..

Then once you get back on VMK after your ban has been lifted, it's like the best feeling ever, but then you get paranoid of getting banned again, although that paranoid feeling disappears after a while... and you get banned again! Fun, eh?

And sorry, I don't have a picture of a ban notice.

I am one of those unfortunate ppl who got banned for 7 days for absolutely no reason at all. They claimed I gave personal info, which I DID NOT!! :xcry: And many ppl have be banned being afk in a public room when something against VMK rules and values was going on. It's not fun being banned especially when you did nothing wrong. It also affects everybody else in your household who is on VMK. They ban the whole ip address.:xangry:

Im just Destination on VMK, just like my character, lol but my Destination account got a 10 year ban, but im not sure if im gonna make a new account. lol ;)

when my little sister got banned bc some other ppl were talking about unaprotrate things in her room she was very sad and cried a lil

When I got banned, it was before IP bans, so I just logged on my other accounts. LOL

The story is coming along great--very long :) I couldn't do it without ppls help like yours.

I had a gut feeling too first time I was banned, plus it was a MONTH ban, the second time was a day, the third was an hour, and I've never been banned ever since.

I found some screenshots on the other banned thread and am ready to start turning my notes into chapters to post.

It's going to be a very long short story :)

It totally stinks. The worst are week bans, month bans or 10 year. 24 hours not too bad. The only good thing is you can stop your addiction for a little bit. The bad part is you miss items, friends, and you become bored easily. I don't know how they decide what bans they give to people, i mean length wise. Some of us know what we did and learn from our mistakes. Others just don't. But if you have a friend who has been banned and you care about them, show appreciation and get items for them which they are missing while suffering from a ban.

My first account got banned forever and I was so angry because I had all that rare and I was a member since day one. It really gets you freaked out and you sort of want to die. LOL! But one day my computer shut down and <something> changed so I made a new account. I was <jumping for joy> I was so happy.

It kind of feels like this black hole has opened up inside of you. Or your stomach exploded or something. I felt really weird. I've been banned 3 times, 2 for 2 hours, and 1 for 24 hours. LOL well, my brother's been banned twice for a month.

I've been banned once for a day when I didn't even notice what I did..lol..and if you're a VMK Addict its hard to be banned! lol well I'm tryingto become less of a VMK Addict I know I lol a lot..Well it happened a long time ago so I don't remember the whole thing :P

You might be in a room sitting with a few friends, and the screen goes completley black. Oh well, disconnected again, but wait, the message says: This account has been banned for giving out personal information.

My eyebrow went up when I got that dreadful message: What in the world? I attempted to log back on and I think it might have just been a bug. Because everything was loading promptly untill you get to the Loading Furniture Data. Then all of sudden, a small message pops up and says: No connection. Connection disabled. Press OK to return. Of course, after you press OK a few seconds later another message comes up: Your account has been banned to 12/10/07.

I've been perma-banned on Clubpenguin for absoulutley nothing. So, I guess I was a little relieved I wasn't banned for ten years. Just a month. Only a month. It'll be okay, right?

Wrong. A few days later you miss VMK so much, you miss your friends, and in my case: I missed one of my best friends in the world, PurpleIndigoPuppy.
I began each and every day logging on to see if just some hope just by some force they'd unbann me. No, they didn't. And they haven't.

The worst part was, ''Why was I banned?''. I hadn't done anything, at least that I thought was wrong in any rhyme or reason. Yet alone, give out 'personal information'. Although, they do count saying, it's very cold where I live as giving out 'personal information'. But, I hadn't said anything along those lines. You just have to stop and wonder, what you did exactly. In most cases, you'll never know. They never answered me saying why I was banned, they just went along and banned me. It sort of hurt, like it was a unjustice.

VMK was a home away from home, it was just a place where you could be you. And that's what I liked the best about it, but to be parted from it even for a month isn't my cup of tea. Sadly, I was IP banned, so no I couldn't log on to see any of the updates, or to try to track down my friends. All I could do, was to sit and let the ban be lifted.

100% true, same exact thoughts i had and actions done with wondering and such

I have posted my VMK story on this site in the story section. As you will see, later on it includes about getting banned.
