Several people in the past have posted in the Computer Technical Support forum asking fror help about getting the message about "Purging cast-members" to go away. I've told them to get more RAM in their computer, or add page file to their machine. To prevent some of this from happening, I'm going to make a thread here of how to add Page File to your computer.
Page File is really called "Virtual Memory". What it is, is just space, taken away from your hard drive, used as RAM. (RAM is what allows you to do multitasking, well). Having this set too high or too low can make a huge difference on how well your computer will preform for what you need it to do.
On most of my computers, I've got them set to take off 3GB to 4GB to use on Page File. That is the highest most computers will support, but others will support up to 10GB.
If you're not a VMK player anymore, and your computer is running slug-ish, I would try to add more Page File to it to see if that helps, as well.
Anyway... On to what you need to do...
1. Go to the Control Panel
2. Go to "System and Maintenance" (For category view) or "System" (For Classic View)
2a. (For Category View)After you've gone to System and Maintenance, click on "System".
3. A window will pop up with your computer's specs. After that has come up, choose the hot-tab, on top, that says "Advanced". Then go to "Advanced", under "Performance" (not a hot-tab).
4. In that window that comes up, choose "Advanced" (hot-tab).
5. Change the setting to "Custom Setting". Type in the following information: http://xs225.******/xs225/08115/untitled2994.png.
6. Press Ok, then Ok, Then ok. You might get a message saying to restart your computer. This IS necessary, if it prompts you.
I hope this helps out :)
