I've seen several people now asking for help on how to install a font, or even multiple fonts. So, I'm going to just make a guide of how to install them on Windows. The reason I'm only doing Windows, is because I don't really know that much about Mac, compared to Windows.

Mmk..

First, you've gotta get the files downloaded from the site, or other physical location of them. Most fonts come in a .zip folder, so you'll have to extract the files in that to install them.

Then, you need to open up the folder, and verify that there is a .ttf or .fot file in that folder. Once you've found it/them select them (Click, for one, CTRL+Click for more), and COPY them to Local Disk (C: ) > WINDOWS > Fonts.

Once your computer has copied them there, the wizard will install them, and you can now use them in almost any application that allows you to type.

FOR WINDOWS VISTA

Installing fonts on Windows Vista is a lot easier than that of XP. You've still got to get the fonts on your computer, or on a locally attached drive. (That's the hardest part :P)

After you've got them, locally, locate the folder that they are located in, and select the .fot and/or .ttf files. Right Click one of them. Then hit Install. Windows will take care of the rest.

Feel free to ask me any questions. :D

For Both Operating Systems:

Considering you were trying to help the people who dont know, you have missed a bit of information out:

First you may need to download an extractor software, the best recomended is WINrar:
http://www.rarlab.com/

Go to the downloads section and download you language of choice program. Now. Once that has downloaded install the program.

Now that that is done download the font file from a trusted font wesite, i recomend these sites:
http://www.dafont.com/
http://cooltext.com/Fonts
http://www.1001freefonts.com/

There is a nice selection of fonts that you can download for free..

Once you have downloaded your files, right click on the files downloaded and click extract here and the files will appear on your desktop. This most likerly will be a .font file the name will usually be the name of the font you downloaded from the site.

Installing on XP:
Your description is fine.

Installing on VISTA:
Simply right click the file and press install.

I forgot about WINRar :P Or something that will do .rar files. And the font sites, I was just going to let them find the font sites that they want, but those three do have a lot of them :P
