View Full Version : New Disconnect message mentions Tomorrowland
prisoner 10-06-2005, 05:17 PM For those disconnected while playing tomorrowland arcade, the disconnect message now talks to you:
http://img244.**************/img244/1889/disconnected3ts.jpg (http://**************)
Your connection was lost, Please login to the game again. If you were playing a game int he Tomorrowland Arcade, you'll have to finish it before you sign into VMK again.
No clue what that means.
GeauxTigersGo 10-06-2005, 05:19 PM I just got the same message but wasn't even playing tomorrowland arcade.
prisoner 10-06-2005, 05:24 PM To clarify, I wasn't in the arcade either at the time. I think this is just the new disconnected message.
Skaterooni 10-06-2005, 05:31 PM I just logged on, So im not completely sure.
WDWFanaticD 10-06-2005, 05:37 PM I think that it is telling you to not log back in if you are in the middle of a game in the arcade and just keep on playing to get the code. Then when you get the code, log back in to type it in.
MrGenie 10-06-2005, 06:06 PM I think that it is telling you to not log back in if you are in the middle of a game in the arcade and just keep on playing to get the code. Then when you get the code, log back in to type it in.That's how I interpret it as well...it would be a nice solution to the problems from yesterday. Perhaps the game recognizes that you launched the arcade successfully while VMK was running and reserves a code for you. Then, regardless of whether or not your VMK session crashes or times out, the arcade game will still give you a code. However, if you log back into VMK, that probably creates a unique session ID (I am making up terminology at this point) which wouldn't match the VMK session ID on which the arcade session is based, thereby leading to the "you must be connected" error message.
GreatGatsby 10-06-2005, 06:45 PM Part of the answer lies with how the Tomorrowland expansion works. When you enter the arcade, it opens up a window completely seperate from the VMK window.
At first I was taken aback by that, but the more I think about it, the more sense it makes.
We've all seen that certain games are affected by problems that occur in the main games - room crashes, etc. - so it would be sensible to segregate some or all of the minigames on a different platform or server, so one part of VMK will have minimal affect on other parts.
This would be especially true of a new game, the effects of which would not be totally predictable.
We may be, in effect, beta testing the diving game. So when you enter the arcade, the system pulls you out of VMK and logs you into the arcade. When you exit the arcade, the system logs you out of that and logs you back into the Tomorrowland section of VMK.
The message you see is letting you know that you cannot reenter the main VMK area if you are still logged into the arcade application. This is because the two systems talk and one will tell the other you're already logged on and can't log on a second time.
mookachu6 10-07-2005, 01:55 PM i cant even get on the game and i've got the message too
MrGenie 10-07-2005, 03:16 PM ...This is because the two systems talk and one will tell the other you're already logged on and can't log on a second time. What I wouldn't give to be a fly on the wall and have a chance to overhear that conversation. :D
LeanaSpin 10-07-2005, 03:22 PM I can confirm that even if you do lose connection in the VMK screen while playing the game, you DO still get a code. On Wednesday, that was not the case, however last night, I did get disconnected. I kept playing the game and got my code just fine.

Sorry, that would be in violation of the VMK Guidelines. :D
MrGenie 10-07-2005, 03:38 PM Sorry, that would be in violation of the VMK Guidelines. :DAh, I suppose you are correct. I hadn't really thought about it that way at all, but my statement certainly could be interpreted as such. I just got a kick out of the personification implied by GreatGatsby's post of two systems having a cordial conversation, and I decided to run with it.
To jump this thread back on topic, has anyone successfully received a code for the Diver Suit after closing and/or having your main VMK session crash? I would be curious to know. EDIT: Nevermind; thanks LeanaSpin! That is good to know. Kudos to VMK for the quick and effective solution to this rather annoying bug.
Poseidon 10-07-2005, 06:54 PM This actually helped me. And it works. When I was playing, I lost connection, and did as it said.
bunnygoogles 10-07-2005, 06:59 PM im rry but what is the tommorowland arcade is it that hub place
GreatGatsby 10-07-2005, 07:30 PM im rry but what is the tommorowland arcade is it that hub placeIt's not the hub.
When you enter the new Tomorrowland layout and "walk" straight to the curved whitish VMK display pedestal, you'll see your cursor becomes an exit sign. That's the entrance to the arcade.
The arcade, which opens in the new window I said earlier, contains the diving game and two more still to come - Space Mountain and the other (which I can't quite make out yet).

Kancy 10-08-2005, 11:00 PM didnt read whole thread, but like mentioned, i checked. Finish the game even if you are disconnected and it gives you the code which gives you:
Deep Sea Diving Trousers
Deep Sea Diving Jacket
Deep Sea Diving Boots
Hope that helps!!

OFF-TOPIC:To make it easier for me on the Airlock Escape game, i took screenshots and saved them. Even though there is a merged thread allready do you think it would be ok to start a new one to make it easier for someone who wanted spoilers instead of searching through the whole thread?
EDIT: Ok this is weird, now everything i do a message pops up saying error 50. anyone else having the same problem?
EDIT:ok the error 50 message is gone now
TrueStarGazer 10-10-2005, 03:33 AM how come every time i try to play the new maze thing, it disconnects me? I was about to get to the last room where i would get my prize, and i lost connection.

No clue what that means.
I spoke with a cast member just now to clarify this whole thing. They said "This message is given to everyone when they get disconnected. Even if they are not playing the arcade game."
Sorry if this has already been said.
