Don't reply back ;D PrincessWall 11-14-2007, 10:49 PM Whoa... That's really cool, if it's true. I have no idea though, if it's really true. ♥Wall snowegoof 11-14-2007, 10:50 PM Well, the e-mail adress is the real VMK adress, it looks real to me. Destination 11-14-2007, 10:51 PM Well, it is from the VMK person. Not sure though. Ammie 11-14-2007, 10:52 PM I don't think it's real, you have to apply for a REAL job for Sulake. Disney101 11-14-2007, 10:53 PM Hmm...I don't really know on this one =/ Centurey 11-14-2007, 10:55 PM I'd say it is real...Thats pretty cool...Just to be safe, send a contact us message asking if it is real or not. Jezibabe 11-14-2007, 10:55 PM I haven't a clue.. is there a VMK_Zoom? I thought it was VMK_Zoo?? Best wait until others reply who have received a real e-mail from VMK before. Also don't click the link at the bottom of the e-mail. Use your normal VMK homepage to go to Contact Us. I could just be paranoid. Thanks for posting this anyway :) flaxygirl 11-14-2007, 10:56 PM Wow that sounds cool and it looks really real, i dont see anything wrong in replying just dont give out any info... Disney101 11-14-2007, 11:00 PM Okay, I sent it through contact us and should get something back tomorrow =/ Whipstersh 11-14-2007, 11:00 PM That is indeed their e-mail. It looks official to me. MsBored 11-14-2007, 11:03 PM Hmm..because of the email address, it is VMK's email..I think it is from the real VMK..Wait for your reply Centurey 11-14-2007, 11:04 PM And about this Mini-Tester thing, we will just wait until the next news letter!!! Disney101 11-14-2007, 11:05 PM I haven't a clue.. is there a VMK_Zoom? I thought it was VMK_Zoo?? Best wait until others reply who have received a real e-mail from VMK before. Also don't click the link at the bottom of the e-mail. Use your normal VMK homepage to go to Contact Us. I could just be paranoid. Thanks for posting this anyway :) Yes There Is A VMK_Zoom, though he used to work actually in VMK and now he is working with Contact Us along with VMK_Shorty so I don't know what to do.... TravisSch 11-14-2007, 11:07 PM I noticed the word further is spelled "furthur". Seems suspicious to me. No matter what, send a message to Contact Us (using the link on the VMK Home page) and see what they say. TravisSch Insanity 11-14-2007, 11:09 PM Reply and see if they ask for your username and password. If they do ask for that then DO NOT give it to them, if it is really the VMK Headquarters asking you to be a tester then they can do it without using your username and password. mailman@virtualmagickingdom.com is the real e-mail adress, so I would not be surprised if it is really them, neither would I be surprised if it is a scam. TravisSch 11-14-2007, 11:10 PM mailman@virtualmagickingdom.com is the real e-mail adress, so I would not be surprised if it is really them, neither would I be surprised if it is a scam. Just don't send an email to that address because it doesn't accept replies except through the Contact Us link. Disney101 11-14-2007, 11:11 PM I noticed the word further is spelled "furthur". Seems suspicious to me. No matter what, send a message to Contact Us (using the link on the VMK Home page) and see what they say. TravisSch Good Thinking! Though there have been other email's where there have been mistakes like this one: Hi, We have reviewed your ban and the chat log that was recorded at the time. We believe your ban to be fair and just. You were warned about your behaviour beforehand, but still chose to break the rules. We take online safety very seriously and your actions were unsafe for both you and the other players. We're happy but we will not be allowing you to play this any more. Thanks, -- VMK_Zoom VMK Player Support http://www.vmk.com WE WILL HAVE TO FIND OUT! Dino_Fan 11-14-2007, 11:11 PM NOPE! That's not a scam, because mailman@virtualmagickingdom.com is VMK's email, and their not asking for any personal info or passwords. Congratulations! VMK offical email he said is mailman@virtualmagickingdom.com The one that is listed is mailman@virtualmagicalkingdom.com Notice the difference I would be careful. Oh my. I just saw that. Great you noticed that. I looked at some old emails from VMK in my inbox and none of them had that part in there. I'm starting to lead towards scam now. skipper 11-14-2007, 11:18 PM well obviouslly its true or scam , just wait for the mail from contact us telling u the truth flaxygirl 11-14-2007, 11:18 PM I think VMK would use the real VMK e-mail... Whipstersh 11-14-2007, 11:20 PM I'm not so sure that email that they sent it from is different then the one listed above. VMK offical email he said is mailman@virtualmagickingdom.com The one that is listed is mailman@virtualmagicalkingdom.com Notice the difference I would be careful. Nice spot. Sadly, I must say that now I am leaning towards a scam also. NASAFALCONS 11-14-2007, 11:21 PM This e-mail is a scam sorry to say. . . if you check the e-mail adress it says virtualmagicalkingdom the real adress is virtualmagickingdom. . . hope i helped Disney101 11-14-2007, 11:21 PM Yes, I'm still waiting for the contact us message >.< lol :D Goldnoel022 11-14-2007, 11:32 PM Yeah it is real!!! That is the VMK address no one can imitate it. That is so cool snowegoof 11-14-2007, 11:35 PM Oh dear! Noticing these typos I would be VERY careful.. don't click ANY links in those emails. EDIT: Also, on the email, it says "www" in front of VMK.com, Disney doesn't use the three w's in their website adresses. thecrazyduck 11-14-2007, 11:40 PM Yeah it is real!!! That is the VMK address no one can imitate it. That is so cool I'm not so sure that email that they sent it from is different then the one listed above. VMK offical email he said is mailman@virtualmagickingdom.com The one that is listed is mailman@virtualmagicalkingdom.com Notice the difference I would be careful. Here Is The Picture: http://******/xs.php?h=xs321&d=07464&f=untitled.png Nope It Is Now Because If You See Carefuly At The E-Mail The VMK E-Mail Is mailman@virtualmagickingdom.com Not Magical Like Dino_Fan Said vmkkarla88 11-14-2007, 11:41 PM Yeah it is real!!! That is the VMK address no one can imitate it. That is so cool that is not the vmk email notice the word magical? and then notivce the word magic in the real one? Disney101 11-14-2007, 11:42 PM Yes, I am going to be very careful. Destination 11-14-2007, 11:43 PM Oh my! Thankfully someone noticed that. Other wise that would've been a terrible scam. But yeah im starting to agree with everyone else now, it's a scam I think vmkkarla88 11-14-2007, 11:46 PM I think this is just a complete :sign1: And besides :schilder240: there is :sign0105: this can happen NRock 11-14-2007, 11:47 PM Like other people have said, mailman@virtualmagickingdom <-- is from VMK mailman@virtualmagicalkingdom <-- clearly false VMK will NOT ask you to become a mini-tester. VMK will NOT ask you to reply, Unless you have further questions. "We have reviewed your bans and VMK information" <--VMK doesn't talk like that.... They also say "Regards" or "Thank You" and not thanks <-- this is according to ALL messages I have received from VMK. Thank You was from automatic replies and Regards was from all VMK_Shorty replies. Regards, -- VMK_Shorty VMK Player Support http://www.vmk.com "Hi there," and "Hello" is the start of all the messages <--- Hi there is from VMK_Shorty and Hello is from Automatic replies. They will also include the message you have sent to them - It has ">" then your message next to it. Also, VMK will NEVER e-mail you unless you e-mail them. Says that somewhere on the newsletter page... TravisSch 11-14-2007, 11:47 PM And here's another point on this so called "mini-testers"... Why does VMK need them? They already have paid testers who test all the items in the game. If VMK gave a couple of regular players new items to test, do you think those players would actually "test" the items, as in send in reports on bugs? I think those players would rather "play" with the items... Also, VMK is supposed to be a fun game for players, NOT a place for players to work on testing items. snowegoof 11-14-2007, 11:49 PM I could so pass for a detective, lol. So I think most of us have drawn to a conclusion this is a scam, stay away from it, but report it to VMK. Eeyorevf 11-14-2007, 11:49 PM Sounds like a scam to me. vmkkarla88 11-14-2007, 11:50 PM And here's another point on this so called "mini-testers"... Why does VMK need them? I could entirely see the thing turned into "Look what I have and you don't" discussions amongst the players. It is seemingly more obvious now that you think about it. I would like to point out that this is more than likely coming from a player on a message board like this one, where players can gain access to your e-mail account if you allow them. If any player or the e-mail suggests you give them any information about your account, then I would not reply at all. Disney101 11-14-2007, 11:59 PM I have recieved another response from VMK STAFF!! I will be posting the message soon. flaxygirl 11-15-2007, 12:01 AM WOW fast reply TravisSch 11-15-2007, 12:02 AM I have recieved another response from VMK STAFF!! I will be posting the message soon. Did you send a message to Contact Us on the VMK Home Page or did you click a link through the first email? If you clicked a link through the email, you're probably just getting the scammer emailing you back. Whipstersh 11-15-2007, 12:02 AM I have recieved another response from VMK STAFF!! I will be posting the message soon. Would this one be from the Magic Kingdom or the Magical one? Batleth 11-15-2007, 12:03 AM This is a fake message. MissyMiss 11-15-2007, 02:00 AM Even if the sender address looks completely authentic, never ever give out personal information in a reply! There are scammers who make their address or website look like the real thing; it can be very difficult to detect. Good point, alice. It isn't that difficult to make your email address look like an official one (mailman@virtualmagickingdom), if you know what you're doing. A lot of times you see these scams based around online auction sites or banks. I am surprised to see someone actually buy a domain to scam kids on VMK, but I guess anything is possible! If you responded directly, the next step probably would have been to give you a "special login page" where you'd get connected to vmk, but they would also pull your username and password. Do you use the same email address on the forum as you do for vmk? That might be how they got your info. I'm glad there's so many smart kids here who wouldn't fall for something like this! That was a good idea to take it to the forum before responding if you were suspicious. As the saying goes: If it sounds too good to be true... Blossomflower 11-15-2007, 02:00 AM LOL they go on a winter break. dabaseballking 11-15-2007, 02:07 AM I never saw MT or Mini_Tester_CoffeeCrazy ( for ex. ) It is a scam.
