Best wait until others reply who have received a real e-mail from VMK before.

Also don't click the link at the bottom of the e-mail. Use your normal VMK homepage to go to Contact Us. I could just be paranoid. Thanks for posting this anyway :)

Yes There Is A VMK_Zoom, though he used to work actually in VMK and now he is working with Contact Us along with VMK_Shorty so I don't know what to do....

I noticed the word further is spelled "furthur". Seems suspicious to me. No matter what, send a message to Contact Us (using the link on the VMK Home page) and see what they say.

Reply and see if they ask for your username and password.
If they do ask for that then DO NOT give it to them, if it is really the VMK Headquarters asking you to be a tester then they can do it without using your username and password.
mailman@virtualmagickingdom.com is the real e-mail adress, so I would not be surprised if it is really them, neither would I be surprised if it is a scam.

Just don't send an email to that address because it doesn't accept replies except through the Contact Us link.

I'm not so sure that email that they sent it from is different then the one listed above.

The one that is listed is

Notice the difference

This e-mail is a scam sorry to say. . . if you check the e-mail adress it says virtualmagicalkingdom the real adress is virtualmagickingdom. . . hope i helped

Oh dear! Noticing these typos I would be VERY careful.. don't click ANY links in those emails.

EDIT: Also, on the email, it says "www" in front of VMK.com, Disney doesn't use the three w's in their website adresses.

mailman@virtualmagicalkingdom <-- clearly false

VMK will NOT ask you to become a mini-tester. VMK will NOT ask you to reply, Unless you have further questions.

"We have reviewed your bans and VMK information" <--VMK doesn't talk like that....

They also say "Regards" or "Thank You" and not thanks <-- this is according to ALL messages I have received from VMK. Thank You was from automatic replies and Regards was from all VMK_Shorty replies.

And here's another point on this so called "mini-testers"...

Why does VMK need them? They already have paid testers who test all the items in the game. If VMK gave a couple of regular players new items to test, do you think those players would actually "test" the items, as in send in reports on bugs? I think those players would rather "play" with the items...

Also, VMK is supposed to be a fun game for players, NOT a place for players to work on testing items.

I could entirely see the thing turned into "Look what I have and you don't" discussions amongst the players. It is seemingly more obvious now that you think about it.

I would like to point out that this is more than likely coming from a player on a message board like this one, where players can gain access to your e-mail account if you allow them. If any player or the e-mail suggests you give them any information about your account, then I would not reply at all.

Did you send a message to Contact Us on the VMK Home Page or did you click a link through the first email? If you clicked a link through the email, you're probably just getting the scammer emailing you back.

Good point, alice. It isn't that difficult to make your email address look like an official one (mailman@virtualmagickingdom), if you know what you're doing. A lot of times you see these scams based around online auction sites or banks. I am surprised to see someone actually buy a domain to scam kids on VMK, but I guess anything is possible! If you responded directly, the next step probably would have been to give you a "special login page" where you'd get connected to vmk, but they would also pull your username and password. Do you use the same email address on the forum as you do for vmk? That might be how they got your info.

I'm glad there's so many smart kids here who wouldn't fall for something like this! That was a good idea to take it to the forum before responding if you were suspicious. As the saying goes: If it sounds too good to be true...

I know how it has been stated its fake but.. "Mini-Tester" what bad english!

Basically its not trying to scam you its trying to make you look a fool and get banned for requesting to be a tester..

Silly email and good reviewing people i would not of seen that "magical" in the email.. but i would of known by the terrible words used..
