As many of you probably just read the the new YAVN SPEAKS im worried. Many people on vmk fansites trade codes. What if i brought codes from a code trader and its a generator code? Will i get banned? I sent this to vmk they have not replied yet. Is it safe?

This is one of the reasons why on this site you need comformation from a moderator to trade. We can only hope that the mods won't allow anyone un-trustworthy in there. This is also one of the reasons why if I want a code from someone, I will only do it with someone I have known for a long time. I encourage everyone else to think the same.

I need to remind you though that you should only play those games (and VMK) with the software provided for download at VMK.com. Using other software to play VMK or generate codes from our system (and trust me, we know when you do it) will get your VMK account banned forever – and nobody wants that.
We've already banned many players for this, if you get banned for this violation, you won't get a second chance.

That is a bad assumption. The truth is that there are many programs available to help you play VMK. The reason why you don't hear about most of them is because they are designed with the intent to hack and modify the game, allowing the user to cheat. The moderators of these forums do a good job of stopping discussion of these programs.

I made VMK Pal for the sole reason of helping members of my family who were too young to login to VMK by themselves. As has been mentioned by others in this thread, it is just a wrapper around Internet Explorer that does not make any changes to VMK itself or give the user any advantage in game play.

I believe that Yavn's warning is in response to the users of a new program which is designed to help you cheat in a particular mini-game and not to VMK Pal. Still, as I've always said, if you aren't comfortable using VMK Pal, then don't use it. I won't be offended, I promise :)

I just want people to understand that there do exist other programs out there which do generate codes for you and which do allow you to cheat in VMK. VMK Pal is not one of them.

On this site there should be no problems with generator produced codes. Most often those codes are only from the mini-games, such as the Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest game, and the Chronicles of Narnia game. Since people have used generators, VMKForums does not allow any trading of those codes.

But the good news is that the POTC Dead Man's Chest game prizes are now tradeable.

Why would you buy codes? I doubt you will get Sparrow. Don't use them, they used a code generator.

some people buy codes on places like E-bay. That is bad because the person probably already used it. I don't know why people do that

Its a button on your keyboard, stands for print screen i think.

It should be directly to the right of the F12 key (some keyboards may have a variation of this, but this being for most keyboards)

Also, Yavn could be bluffing. Maybe they don't know if you use VMKPal or not. Well, it's easy to bluff in typing, because it's flat out lying.

Pubsy I wouldn't enter any codes given to U by persons U do not know. ;) You can't know where they've gotten them (they could very well be generated) or whether they're even valid codes. If U do decide trade for codes, request they give ya the code FIRST, if they're an honest player they'll happily accommodate yer request. :) Personally, I steer clear of code trading n' only swap codes with trusted friends. There's too much room for scamming when trading codes n' who wants to take a chance of possibly being banned?? Not moi. http://www.freesmileys.org/emo/angelic012.gif
