View Full Version : New iPods- How are they?
GreenGirlJess 11-01-2007, 09:19 PM I'm looking into a new iPod for christmas, and so I have plently of time to decide and such, I'm asking now.
Who has the new iPods, and how are they? Which is your favorite? What do and don't you like about them?
I'm looking into the iPod touch, or a regular iPod. I really don't like the looks of the new nanos, so I'm thinking of one of the other two.
Say anything you have to say about these gadgets, and if I should get one or not.
Thannkkss.
BetterDays 11-01-2007, 09:25 PM I got an iPod Touch a few weeks ago and I really do love it. :D Sometimes it's a pain in the neck to turn it on after you step away from it for a while, but other than that, it's great.
It has a lot of features, which I'm sure you probably know most of them by now, but a few of my favorites would have to be:
-Safari Internet Browser
-Music Directory (the way it's set up)
-Touch Screen
And the rest like uploading pictures, videos, etc.
It's definitely worth the money I think.

With the Safari Internet, can you go on any site, or only certain sites? And you need Wi-Fi to use it, which I have access to, right?
How many songs/videos does it hold?
Pubsy 11-01-2007, 09:31 PM dont buy a new ipod there are alot of glitches and eggs on it. wait till the ipod touch gets to be like a 30gig for like 100$
My brother just got one for his birthday. The first one broke.. but he was able to return it and get a fully functional new one. He loves it and there are many features.
BetterDays 11-01-2007, 09:39 PM Well yes you can go on any site, but not sites like VMK since it doesn't run Java. And yup, you need Wi-Fi to use it. There's also an option to view videos you search up. =)
Depends what gb you get. I got 8gb and it holds 1,750 songs. If you got the 16gb, it holds 3,500 songs.
Helena_snowboarder_gurl 11-02-2007, 12:22 AM I think i might ask for an ipod touch for christmas, thx ppl! :)
snowegoof 11-02-2007, 12:27 AM I am perfectly happy with my old-skool Mini, which plays my songs, which is all I look for in an iPod. I like how the Nano has a colorful screen, though. :D
the_phoenix 11-02-2007, 12:29 AM I had an iPod shuffle, but I had to buy a new iPod nano. Two days after I bought the shuffle, it got lost; that's how tiny they are!
virtualmagicguy 11-02-2007, 12:32 AM I only have an iPod nano black (old not new). The best, but getting the iPod touch. Way too cool ;)
princesgirl 11-02-2007, 01:37 AM I have a blue nano ( not the video) I love it!
gabyta 11-02-2007, 02:07 AM I pre-ordered the iPod touch and while I was waiting for it to be released I thought that it would be better to have an iPhone for the same price than the iPod.
I prefer the iPhone 8 gb (has the same features than the iPod and it's a cell phone too) and it costs the same as the 16 gb iPod touch.
Anyway, if you don't want a cell phone with your iPod you should still consider the touch model :)
GreenGirlJess 11-02-2007, 02:16 AM Yuh, right now I currently have a first generation black 1gb Nano.
I've been looking for an upgrade, especially since I'm getting more and more songs with each week passing, and my iPod can only hold 200 songs (though htye say 250, its really 200).
I love Nano's, but I hate hate hateee the new design, how they are short and fat rather than long and skinny. And, the video iPods.. idkkk.
I think I am going to ask for this, because its just hte rpice my mom is willing to spend and such..
mikeb_86 11-02-2007, 02:28 AM I got a Ipod Classic in silver 160 GB it is worth it because if your like me that likes lots of music, podcast and video/ pictures is great for you. I had a old style Shuffle but it did not hold lots of music. So if you have the $ i would get it. Or ask for it for xmas!!! Also if you did not know mine has the most GB out their for I pods. Its great!!!
More info on it: Why should you have to choose what to put on your i pod? With up to 160GB of storage, i pod classic lets you carry everything in your collection — up to 40,000 songs or up to 200 hours of video — everywhere you go. In a completely new, even thinner, all-metal design starting at $249, this i pod is a modern classic.
Manchester United 11-02-2007, 01:35 PM Well i have the ipod classic 80GB and basically its the same as the ipod video but with a update in the look of it and a big update with the software that is used on the actual ipod.. If you wont a change in ipod get the ipod touch.. If you like the classic style.. get the normal classic to nano style of ipods.. I got the 80gb one because its priced well and has 80gb (20,000 songs storage) which is a great deal.. The only reason why i never got an ipod touch is because its more money for less memory.. 80GB -> 8GB.. Your choice..
Shayjack 11-04-2007, 07:58 PM I've been using my friend's new Nano a lot, and it's awesome. You would think it would be really uncomfortable to hold because of the shape, but it feels great.
