I am getting a game system of my choice for Christmas, and I can't decide between a Wii and an xbox 360. I mostly like the xbox 360 cause of halo 3 and xbox live, but also like the other games they have.
I like the wii because of its interactive remote and because their games are half the price of the xbox 360 games.
I'm leaning towards getting a Wii, but I'm not sure yet.

What do you guys think?

Well i don't really know it depends what kind of guy you are. If you like just button games maybe the 360,but if you like being active then get the Wii. Also i don't really know because i have both so gl ;)

the wii really only has sport games and is interactive, so if you love sports you'll love the wii, if you like button games and other games besides sports and like competing with others , the xbox 360 is for u

OH HEAVENS NO!! the wii isn't just sport games! they have a lot of non-sport games, such as Mario Party 8, Metroid Prime 3, Sonic and the Secret Rings (with a Sonic Party!!) The upocoming Super Smash Bros. Brawl and much more! plus if you get the wii you can play gamecube games too! if you have a gamecube that is. but if your a kid friendly game fan get the wii, if not get the xbox 360

Are you sure you have enough money for Xbox live and can you Halo 3 before they go out of stock again?

I bought a Wii and it's great.. My choices were between a wii and a play station 3.

Well i have both of the consoles and both of them put up a fight for your christmas "main" present. XBOX-360 has a better graphics over the wii fan named "6th generation graphics" so that is a round to xbox. Were as the wii focuses on more easy-game play and more fun and active games, compared to the standard xbox "classic" game play, so that a round to the wii. The online feature on xbox does come at a price which puts alot of people off, as a long time gamer myself i was willing to pay the extra to join and connect with other people from around the world. Were are the wii is very limit with online gaming but is developing as time goes on..

I would go with the wii myself as it is next gets you going and really will get up and about playing all christmas day!

Personally i wont buy a PS3 i own both and the ps3 seems to be the top draw at the moment.. Its your choice.

The Wii is definitley something for your money. You can play classic Nintendo games on it. Do you know of any other consel that can play old nintendo games besides GameBoy. I don't mean to be mean.

The Wii does not always connect properly with the receptor and will make moves that were unintendeed
The Wii does have good games and itself and the games are less, but they have terrible graphics and are horrib;e for action games, Sonic aside
The Xbox 360 can also play original Xbox games and Xbox Live, the best Online console gaming channel out there at this time

Hmmm not sure that's a really hard choice.

XBOX 360 is good because of Halo 3 lol I have it and the other games.

Wii may be fun with the remote and stuff but you do get tired after the first like 4 hours lol. There fun but I think it's a little let down the first time you play it. It's not really what it looks like in the commercials.

And plus like if you just wanted to have like a relaxing weekend and just sit down in one chair and play video games for 24 hours, I think you might want to play XBOX 360 instead.

The wii! I got mine for my birthday and I LOVE it. Just don't throw your controller. And you can do sooo much more than wii sports. Wii is AWESOME. :) The wii is futuristic and it has good games. It will take some time getting used to moving around the controller though. ( Trust me! ) Its fun, awesome, and does more than you think.

You don't have to pay to use your wii on the internet unlike the XBOX360. On the 360, You do have to pay. ( I have heard. ) And the Wii is more in demand than the 360. You can so lots and LOTS on the wii. Good Luck with your choie. :)

NOT TRUE!!! The Wii has FPS (First person shooters) games like Metroid 3: Corruption and Red Steel that got amazing reviews. It also has simulators like MySims, Trauma Center: Second Opinion and Trauma Center: New Blood. It had kid's games like (Not that you'll be interested in these unless you're under 5 or have serious problems or have kids of your own seeing as how i haven't got a clue about how old you are) Go, Diego, Go. It has fighter games like Dragon Ball, Naruto Clash of Ninja Revolution, Victorious Boxers: Revolution (I wanna get that bc i've played the PS2 game), The Art of Fighting, and many many more. There's also the 3rd person adventure genre. The Wii has many other genres, too. There are so many other games than just sports. GET A DARN WII!!! You can ALSO surf the web, create wii-me's (Sp?) and it even COMES WITH GAMES.

It's not just the range of games. It's the playability. Nintendo said they wanted fun, not good graphics. Most, if not all, games on the Wii are just plain fun and playable. That's where Halo 3 dies. If you beat Halo once, all the pleasure of finding out the game's secrets is gone. For example, in Halo 3, you see Chief's face for the first and last time in the series. But in most Naruto games, you can play through story mode, beat all scenario's and still have characters, sound files, and video clips you haven't gotten yet, leaving more playability. The Wii also has motion sensors. The 360 doesn't. Those are some more reasons that the Wii rock harder than the 360. :)

okay here is my perspective for the game systems:

Xbox 360- its alright, features are getting obsoulete and not functional. I would not get it

Wii- very active and energetic, nice for people, PS2 graphics

PS3- okay....graphics amazing controllers wireless and wifi available. Better game choice but you can't play PS2 games on it.

yeah, if Nintendo brought more hack-and-slash-sword-fighting-first-person games, more whip-out-bullets-'till-you-drop-first-person games, more music/racing/life/flight sim games, more adult games, more kid games, and MANY MANY MANY more games for teens to young adults, the Wii'd appeal to a larger audience. It already has old people games. They call it Wii Sports. Old people in retirement homes sometimes play it. Fun stuff. I'm still a teen though.

The Wii is better. Not only Brawl will be for it, but Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity and the upcoming "NiGHTS, Into dreams..." sequel are in development and are slated for release in early '08. The WiiConnect24 internet is free, and CAN be used on games for wireless play.
The wii has the news, weather, Everybody votes, photo, and other channels and has 4 updates avaliable. the wii has an internet browser, which i am using right now. The wii remote doesn't make unintended movements if you adjust the sensitivity. the wii shop channel has titles of old games avaliable for play from NES to N64. it is also compatible with all GC accesories.
the wii can cover 2 to possibly 7 game consoles. it can also communicate with the DS.
if you dont have wireless internet it is possible to hardwire the wii to your router for use of the wi-fi function

Wii is comming out with some good games, gutiar hero 3, smash bros, super mario galaxy, metroid prime, twilight princess, battalion wars2, and many more

Which is better?

The Wii. The Wii has a wide variety of games, Madden 08, Smash Bros. Brawl, many wide games, puzzle, adventure, etc.. The Xbox 360 is cool too, but doesn't stand up to the Wii. The Xbox 360 has Halo 3, but that mostly is it.
I don't know really any games for the Xbox 360, but feel free to agree and disagree with me. If you want shooting games, Xbox 360 has more, but the Wii also has some. Metriod Prime, Call to Duty 3, all games. If I was given the choice, I would take the Wii. But it is your desicion. Make the right desicion for you. ;)

I have WII and it's Pretty good. You just have to get More games than the WII Sports and wii play, or It can get kinda boring. XBOX 360 IS a little more wide open ( If you know what im saying :rolleyes: ) But I reccomend WII. You can brag to all you're friends:)

The 360 might have cost to live but it is definately worth it seeing as I have had live for quite some time now. The graphics on the Wii are worse than 360 and I must say when the 360 is hooked up to HD it looks pretty amazing. Here is how i classify it.

Wii- for ppl who are not expierienced gamers and just want to fool around.
360- for moderate to good gameplayers who want to have alot of fun competing online.
PS3- for the gameplayers who have nohing else to do but go online and destroy people.

I would definately choose the 360 becuase alos it has been out longer. Many say that the longer it has been out the worse. Not true. The 360 has many more games and the games are alot better. I have the most fun on live and I bet anyone would. I play Halo 3, Gears of War, and Call of Duty 3 and my friends and I have a blast. So if your looking to fool around with siblings get the Wii, but if you want to have fun with your friends without having them over or even want to play with people from around the globe get 360.

All you need to do is simply pick up a wii-mote and your question will be answered. My entire family LOVES Mario Party 8. My parents can play it, my friends can play it. We have a great time. From what I heard, the graphics on the 360 are supposed to be better, but what is more important? Having a good time or having something look better?

I wanted a Wii from day 1 and I have not had one MOMENT of disappointment from it. New games are coming out everyday and the online features are getting beefed up. I'm looking forward to WiiFit and MarioKart (Finally an online version!) and Guitar Hero 3.

The Wii costs less, which is always nice because then there is more money for additional controllers and fun accessories.

I would tell you to just go with the Wii, I don't think you'll have any regrets.

Dont forget the virtual console, dont you have virtual console games on your wii? I have about 10 atm.. they cost wii points and wii points cost money but... its well worth it!

Wii all the way. My dad and all his friends play golf on it, my sister and me play MarioParty, and we have a bunch of games. The wii is overall like pretty much cheaper and IMO, more fun. :dancingturkeyani: Oh yeah, and MySims for the Wii, my sister and me play it like 24/7. Yes, but in Halo 3 there are secret areas, skulls that unlock powers, you can try all four difficulties, and you can replay levels for WAY more campaign points! I have both!!!! I know these things!

Both systems have some great titles not to mention that the Wii is getting Galaxy and Smash Bros soon. The Wii does not have terrible graphics by any means so you shouldn't be amking things up. first off, u can play original xbox games with the 360. there are certain games the xbox is already prepared for but also if it is not u must go online with your xbox and it will update it to play that game. So it will play. Also, the better would be the 360 because there is more to it than the Wii.

What about the people who can't or don't want to get Xbox Live? I would say get the Wii because there is more to it and just yesterday they realeased a new channel called Check Mii Out.

ya, zelda on the wii actually had the same graphics as gamecube, metroid prime 3 has some sweet graphics too, and mario galaxy is pretty good too.

And u Can use the nintendo wi-fi connection to play online games like pokemon
