I wish I could remember the site I was on last night that had an interview with an imagineer. I do not know the imagineer's name, but the interview did focus around The Haunted Mansion. A question was asked about The Haunted Mansion Holiday coming to WDW. The imagineer stated that there are no plans to do this with the mansion currently, especially after the extensive rehab the ride has just come out of. He did, however, go on to say that a Nightmare Before Christmas ride is in the planning stage for the Disney Hollywood Studios, previously MGM. He went on to say that the old "Hunchback" stage area would be just enough room to house this new dark ride. The dark ride would also be very laid back, such as Peter Pan's Flight and Snow White's Scary Adventures, he stated. What does this mean? It means that the ride won't be as high-tech as say Expedition: Everest, or even "it's a small world" for that matter. He also mentioned something about the name change for the studios, saying it was easy to change the name to something to incorporate a holiday, such as "Disney Horrorwood Studios" or "Disney HollyDay Studios", and that future plans for MGM include a scary Halloween party, much different than the "not-so-scary" one over at Magic Kingdom.
EDIT: The date said was 2012.
If I come across this interview again, I'll copy/paste over the entire thing for you all to read.

Oh!! This sounds interesting. MGM sure seems to be the area for development right now. Just wishing for that new theme park... I wonder if they will do anything special for MGM's 20th in 2009. Then again look how much they did for Epcot.

Hey guys! I was looking on the web about upcoming disney rides and saw info about a new Nightmare Before Christmas dark ride in MGM Studios! (Soon going to be hollywood or pixar studios) And it's going to be were the Hunchback show was, At least they are finally going to do something with that theatre...... it's been a long time since they've put something there, I think about 9 to 10 years.
I've known about this rumor for a while but never knew that they ARE putting it in there! One of the websites i've been on showed a concept art of the whole track, but it's not coming up anymore. Although i did find a concept of Lock, Shock, and Barrel leading you into the chute to Oogie Boogie.

I can tell you that it is true about the Halloween event at the Studios. Jack will be taking over the Studios the year his attraction arrives there I believe, if I can remember my Dinner With An Imagineer imaginner telling us about it. It will indeed be different than Magic Kingdom's however. It will be a "very-scary" kind of event from what the imaginner told me back in '07. If I can bring up my interview with the imagineer on the subject (find it actually) than I'll share with you all what will be planned on happening.
