Trillen's Pokemon Splicing Shop!
Open!
First off, I'd like to say thanks to Good ol' Daffy lemon scooter for introducing the idea to me in a thread (I, erm, think it got deleted.)
Okay, so second off, some of you may already know what splicing is/ already know how to splice. If you don't, I'll explain: Splicing - To unite; So we're taking the idea of Pokemon here and uniting them.
What we do here: Mix pokemon parts together to make a new pokemon, We re-color and some extra stuff also
The main point of this shop? Suggest your idea to me and the team, we'll splice 'em, recolour, etc. for ya! Make sure to tell me the names of the Pokemon you want spliced, recoloured, etc.! I, or my team will splice, recolour, etc. up to four (and at least two) different kinds of Pokemon. Oh, and the Pokemon you want spliced can be from any generation, Kanto - Sinnoh (Pokemon Mystery Dungeon sprites can be recouloured if you're interested in those too)
Meh Splice Team:
*Me, Trillen (of course)
Notice: 1 (and at most 2) orders per post!
Use This When Ordering - Good ol' Daffy's Pokemon Order Form:
Pokemon:
Base Pokemon:
Shiny or not*:
*= Will use the 'Sub' Pokemon's Shiny Colour
Background Color:
Only up to 4 pokemon for the splices please
Wondering how to make splices?
No problem!
I'll list the steps to splice for ya step by step:
1. First off we need a sprite resource site. Me, I prefer to use this one: http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites.html
They've got tons of sprites for you to choose from.
2. So yeah, just click on one of the sprite links the site lists. It might take awhile to load the Pokemon sprites sometimes.
3. Minimize out of the Pokemon sprite page now and open up "Paint" (Just in case you don't have it, it should be located down in the "Start" bar, "All Programs", then "Accessories."
4. In paint you'll see a bunch of white space (like always... or not, idk?) Anyway, we don't want much white, so minimize the white to appx. a quarter of white... the rest should be gray. (Just in case, the bottom right corner is the corner that allows you to minimize.)
5. Minimize out of paint and bring up the sprite page again. Find your desired Pokemon to combine and copy them, one at a time. Minimize the sprite page and go back on to paint. Paste the Pokemon their and repeat this process for how many ever Pokemon you want to splice.
6. Now you've got the sprites on paint, time to splice 'em! Note: Make sure the sprites are fairly close, but not touching each other. Use the magnification/ "Magnifier" feature at the left of paint and magnify 8x, the maximum magnification. This allows you to see your sprite super close, the pixels and all.
7. Okay, so, now you gotta use the "Free Form" feature (looks like a star, located at the top most left). This is the main tool we're going to use for splicing. As best as you can, use the tool and go around the desired part of the Pokemon sprite you want. Make sure to completely circle the whole part of the Pokemon. Take that part, which you should now be able to move around and either delete it or attach it to your desired Pokemon sprite that you're planning on using for the base. The other Pokemon sprites are kinda like attachments to it.
8. Now that you've got your Pokemon base and Pokemon attachments with the "Free Form" tool, time to recolour (optional).
9. Use the "Pick Color" located right next to the "Magnifier." It'll allow you to take colors from your Pokemon sprite attachments/base and apply them, making it so the Pokemon sprite colors look natural. Use this tool in conjunction w/ the paint icon located right above the "Magnifier."
10. We magnified so close in the first place because now we've gotta fill in the pixels with what I said in step 9. It can be a long process depending on how many pixels you're dealing with.
11. So, let's say you're done attaching, recolouring, etc. Make the magnification x1 again and now use the "Select Feature" located next to the "Free Form" tool. Go around your splice and move it to the upper left corner. Now minimize the white so that it's around your Pokemon, very small.
12. Go to "Save As", "My Pictures", and make sure to save it as PNG in the "Save as type."
13. That should do it! Complicated looking, but I'm sure you'll get the hang of it sooner or later Hope that helped.
