View Full Version : Chronicles Of Narnia 2: Prince Caspian **MERGED**
disneyzoodude 10-15-2007, 02:02 AM Yeah! The second Narnia Movie is coming out! :icon_mickey_hallowe
I have read the book... and my only worry is that it might be PG-13. I am not allowed to see PG-13 movies, so I might not be able to go see this one.
Anyone Else excited? And what do you think the rating will be?
the_phoenix 10-15-2007, 02:40 AM I believe it is spelled the chronicles of Narnia, and I'm very excited to go see the movie. If I remember corretly, it opens December of '08,right?
Manchester United 10-15-2007, 02:45 AM Nice poster makes me wont to see it:

Shakani 10-15-2007, 02:48 AM DECEMBER 2008!?
Thats like, a gazillionty billionty years away!! O_O
I liked the Narnia movies, and my little sister loved them.
Actually... so did my mom...
And idk what the rating would be, I mean the first one was PG, this one MIGHT be PG or PG13.. =/
[Edit: Omg, I LOVE YOU, MANCHESTER UNITED! Now that I saw that poster, (with that fantabulous dude on it), I'm totally seeing that movie. xD]
[Second Edit @_@: I looked up Prince Caspian on wiki, and it said that the movie premeire is like.. May 16 ;D)
Manchester United 10-15-2007, 02:51 AM :) Np i appreciate the poster then i would like the film.. Typical graphic artist me..
disneyzoodude 10-15-2007, 03:34 AM its may 8, 2008 lol
Sushi 10-15-2007, 04:37 PM I had no idea they were making another Narnia movie. o_o
Well, I'm excited. xD
Hopefully it will be as good as the first...
Shakani 10-15-2007, 07:36 PM Yeah.. But the kids in this movie are going to be waay older then they were in the first one.
jsmall 10-15-2007, 08:03 PM Yeah.. But the kids in this movie are going to be waay older then they were in the first one.
So I dont think it would make a very big difference that they are older. I am extremely excited to see another narnia movie. It is one of my favorite movies, and it actually got me to read the book. As for the people who cant see PG-13 movies, just ask your parents to watch it first. If they think it is appopriate they will let you see it.
DerekJ 10-15-2007, 10:54 PM Films two through four (Prince Caspian, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and The Silver Chair) are scheduled to be produced in quick succession. (Aka its like Harry Potter, once one is finnished the next film begings shooting)
Although VoDT has reportedly been pushed back to '10--
Fortunately, Peter and Susan are written out of the story at the end of "Caspian", and Edmund and Lucy are written out at the end of "Voyage", so there won't be as many Harry Potter-delay puberty jokes, but it's still a much slower shooting schedule than Warner's HP movies.
Oh and just to make you fans more mad:
Originally scheduled for a December 14, 2007 release, the film was pushed back to a May 16, 2008 premiere.
And to make you even more mad:
It was because Walden Media didn't want to take attention away from their first major non-Disney production for December '07, "The Water Horse"...Yes, that dopey Loch Ness thing.
(If it'd been because of "Bridge to Terabithia", I could understand, but...)
Wondermanforever 10-15-2007, 11:08 PM Woot, didn't know it was coming out!

my mom looks it up on James Dobson's website. It includes all of the violent scenes (tells about them) and all kinds of stuff. But she cant read up on it till the move actually comes out
Fantasysurfingboy 10-16-2007, 01:55 AM Yes, I'm very excited. I hope the movie is like the book though... C.S. Lewis was a very incredible man.
Bobray 10-17-2007, 05:29 AM I am really excited for Prince Caspian, but what about the first one, The Magician's Nephew. I loved that one!
Or is it just like the Lord of the Rings and they skip the Hobbit?
dudedanrocks 10-17-2007, 05:32 AM Im pretty excited. I love narnia.
Goldnoel022 11-02-2007, 02:07 AM I know a girl who LOVED the first movie, and she has been talking about it since she saw the first movie. I want to see it too :)
icefire_dragon 11-02-2007, 04:26 AM I didn't even know they were making another one! Im excited for sure! Thank you for letting us know XD

Captain Kool 11-10-2007, 10:39 PM This makes no sense, period. First of all, C.S Lewis wrote The Magicians Nephew after The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe purposely because the first book explains everything. However, even after the second book, the third book is The Horse and The Boy, not Prince Caspian.
I have read the books, and their personally my favorite series, next to His Dark Materials. But, what I can't seem to understand is the fact that they skipped over the first book. Why, I didn't expect them to make The Horse and The Boy in the first place, why it's a slightly boring book. But, I did think The Magician's Nephew would have been ideal.
My best guess is, it will be PG 13. I do remember the book as having quite some gore, if my memory serves me right.
kittenofthenight 12-07-2007, 04:42 PM I saw the Narnia 2 Prince Caspin trailer.
Hah i think its going to be great! I cant wait to see it. Maybe new VMK items?
I didnt see any threads about this so...
Insanity 12-07-2007, 05:15 PM Yes, they decided to make a second one along time ago.
I think it wont turn out great, the only interesting book was "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe"
Pinkdust 12-07-2007, 05:28 PM I watched the trailer yesterday. Looks a lot more, erm, action-packed? But that's cool. ;) Haha. If it's anything like the first one, it should be really good.

Good??? I find the Narnia books boring and pointless.

Hmm i haven't read the other books yet, seeing as how my grandma only has the one. But i still think it will be interesting.
I know they decided to make it along time ago, but it was put on hold from some reason or another.
strikemaster 12-07-2007, 05:53 PM Cool! I'm going to see it for sure, and, maybe, like some of you posted, there will be more VMK items!
Acepowerboy 12-07-2007, 06:39 PM http://disney.go.com/disneypictures/narnia/
Stemaboat_Tyler 12-08-2007, 04:27 PM I saw the first one and I hated it, so I doubt I would like this one
Insanity 12-08-2007, 04:29 PM This one, wont actually be a sequel.
It is just another in the series of "The Cronicles of Narnia" by C.S. Lewis.
slinkyman 12-08-2007, 04:39 PM I think VMK will do something big for the movie. I like the narnia movies. :)
mickey0794 12-08-2007, 04:39 PM LOL yeah, I found out about the new movie coming out a few months ago, MGM has that journey into narnia thing, it was pretty much jus tthe next movie's trailer.
Acesilverace 12-08-2007, 04:44 PM oh cool i didn't know a narnia 2 is coming out. I hope they come out with cool stuff
I am really excited for Prince Caspian, but what about the first one, The Magician's Nephew. I loved that one!
Or is it just like the Lord of the Rings and they skip the Hobbit?
The Hobbit is in production now and is titled The Lord of the Rings:The Hobbit and is scheduled for release sometime in 2009
Mooshu 12-09-2007, 01:29 AM -twitch- another one?
I don't like the books :/
The first one was ok..don't think I'll bother with this one.
OstrichSam 12-09-2007, 05:01 AM Ooh, I loved the first movie. I hope this one turns out like the first!

trainz 12-11-2007, 02:33 AM You should be ashamed! Most of you don't even get what the book is about! I can't mention it since it is really religious.
Anyway they are doing the order this way since when the books were written(copyright dates) NOT the order they are put in after he finished writing them. Meaning all the movies with the kids will be filmed first then the rest will come.
I for one found the new trailer so interesting I couldn't focas on The Golden Compass this trailer was so addicting. I Mean it left me wanting more.
BTW for complainers about "Their doing another one?" Get this a long time ago it was announced that they are doing the WHOLE series!

...That plan could foil completely if one thing happens: your parents watch it and DON'T think it's appropriate.
I'd just ask a friend if it's appropriate, that way you know if it's appropriate, but don't have limitations just yet.
disneyzoodude 12-12-2007, 01:15 AM For Narnia, And Aslan!
ElephantEthan 01-25-2008, 07:17 AM May 16 is the day for all Narnia fans! Sit tight in your theatre seat and get your mouth filled with popcorn!
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian is finally coming out!

strikemaster 01-25-2008, 07:19 AM Eh, I read the books. The movies are pretty good. I highly doubt that Disney will add all the parts, though.

Narnialucygirl 02-19-2008, 10:33 PM It comes out May 16,2008 at 10:00pm and the third movie comes out in 2010 as you can tell i'm a hugeeeee Narnia fan! I've read all the books and seen the first movie a million times!
Princessbel 02-19-2008, 10:52 PM Yaya!!:D

AwesomeTom 02-19-2008, 11:57 PM I personally cannot wait until the second Narnia. The first was amazing and Prince Caspian is my favorite. My only question is this:
The White Witch returned to the storyline in the 6th novel, the Silver Chair, but the White Witch was seen in the trailer and the actress has been listed as being in the film. My guess is that they are not doing the Silver Chair and had to incorporate her in some way, but does anyone know exactly why she is included in the film though she is not in the original novel? That is my idea, but please do not post an answer unless you do have supporting facts. This is my guess, my hypothesis, not a legitimate answer :)
iImagine 02-20-2008, 12:35 AM Someone needs to change te title of this thread. Prince Caspian is in no way "Chronicles of Narnia 2". Technicaly, it's the 4th in the series. It's only the second movie being made.
I'm not very excited for this film - I did not enjoy the first and I doubt that I will enjoy this one much, alhough I will go to see it. As big of a Disney fan as I am, I really sort of hate Walden Media. I've never really enjoyed a film that they have made.
This movie will be quickly cast aside as much better films come out this summer - namely, Indiana Jones 4, Iron Man, WALL-E, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

They're not doing The Silver Chair - they're following the BBC model, only doing The Last Battle instead of The Silver Chair. My guess is that Prince Caspian might have a little mix of The Silver Chair and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader thrown in.
EtnaGreen 02-20-2008, 02:50 AM I can't wait the first one is my favorite movie, it actually got me to read the book which was really good. I can't believe my parents had to drag me their. It never has a dull moment in the movie, and santa is in it. :) Hoping the second one is twice is good, and not like the pirate movies where they get worse and worse with each movie. I am surpised that they are making the entire series considering they have to pay actors more and more for each movie. I guess it sold reall well. :)
Ali-Rae 05-14-2008, 01:22 AM I can't wait. It sounds really good. I'm actually going tonight to go see the sneak peek ;) I'm expecting it to be pretty good! :)
Edit; It is REALLY good. I highly recommend seeing it. I think it's actually better than the first one.
Exoxus 05-15-2008, 04:14 PM It looks good! I'm probably going to see it, I liked the first movie. Though talking rats tend to be a put-off for me to see a movie, I think I'll make an exception. ;D

Wrong if you bothered to read up about it,or looked on Disney sites you would notice that Disney is under contract to make them all.

I agree but with Caspian being in the 4th series, it's the 2nd because it was made the year after Lion, Witch, and Wardrobe was made. (Sorry if written wrong)

Yes they had to do that because the kids were growing up to fast.
EtnaGreen 06-10-2008, 07:46 PM I absolutely loved narnia two, then again I loved the first one. Way to do a movie right disney.
taylorswiftfan13 06-10-2008, 07:50 PM i went to it last night and i thought it was pretty good. but some parts kinda confused me, like in the very beginning why were the people shooting at the bed?

Since I haven't seen it in awhile I will try to remember. I think that they thought caspian was their and the were trying to kill caspian so what's his face could have the crown.
