Ok... this is my first and last attempt at a quest.

I will run it all month long, or until my inventory runs out.

You can see from the photo below, that there are a lot of prizes in it right now, and there will be a growing number of prizes throughout the month.

ALL of this stuff will be up at some point this moth to go along with the dream theme (though some may not be up initially). This is a first come first serve quest since a timed quest can't last more than a single day.

Please be kind to others, if you have a dozen or even 2 players in VMK under your control USE ONLY 1!

I currently have gone through over 700 prize winners, but will probably be well over 2000 by the time the month is over.

Please don't trade or just hang around the room. Give everyone a chance.

People who decide to trade in the room, or those asking for free will be booted. Sorry, but I need to be fair. This is really free stuff to you, but I do want you to put a little effort into it. :)

Yes very nice quest! And the prizes are the best prizes I have ever seen in a quest. It took me forever to find the clovers though! I searched through that room so many times, and it was right in front of me! I'll be sure to stop by today when it is open.

Did you change the title of the quest, that happened to me on time and I had a wrong word on the title and to many punctuation.

The only thing I did was add prizes...

Did you try to take some of the prizes out and just add them to another quest but only keep one quest at the time in your room. Why I'm trying to help you, don't give away your stuff. Save it for the family.

Are you quitting, GPDOT? Ace's comment made me think you are quitting. "Save stuff for the family." Anyways, that happened to me too, for some reason I couldn't add to my room description, it kept flashing red. It was in the Dark Ride room also. Hope you get everything worked out!

Well, I managed to get to your room, but unfortunately I crashed when I clicked on the quest machine. By the time I had rebooted your quest /room seemed to have vanished :(

Ok so the Quest is back up, and will be on soon.

I had to remove some prizes (don't worry I only removed the good ones - LOL)

The problem seems to have been a corrupt room name and description. I cleared both and typed them back in exactly as they were and it works again.

Last night I won a Blue Pirate Throne Chair :) I was the third to finish. Gpdot, is 200 the limit for prizes in a Quest Kiosk, or does it hold more than that?

They would come back and stand by the QM until the prize was up they wanted. they would then smile.

This is one of the reasons I am giving it all away.

Some of the people can and will do things that are not appropriate.

tyvm for a sweet quest gpdot :) And the castle room is awesome and weel thought out for allowing good access to the the quest kiosk. The quest is also fun and not too difficult but takes some dedication to finish it and I think a quest with great prizes like yours should be just like that. :) This should totally win best quest for a lot of reasons and I'm gonna vote for it. :)

Awesome work, GPDOT! This was such a fun quest! I liked the way you worded the tasks, and it really was pretty easy (arg, except it took these "ancient" eyes a while to locate all those clovers, lol). It makes me sad that some people would try to manipulate things to choose their prize, but please don't let that discourage you. I'd like to think that there are a lot of honest people on VMK and I know many people really appreciate what you are doing.

And I agree with you that we should all try not to be mean to each other in pirates :).

I won a Mickey Christmas tree, and it now has a special place in one of my rooms. Thank you for all of your hard work. VMK is a great place because of people like you.

There's bad and good in VMK but I think a lot of people just find whatever one they're looking for. It's all about where you look. ;) I've seen a lot of bad but I try to ignore it as much as I can or report if it's REALLY bad. But I see a lot of good too and your quest was one of the REALLY good things. And a lot of your rooms I've seen are some of the REALLY good things. Attitude is 90% of everything. Look for the good and maybe you will find some too. :D

gpdot, I know you've said you don't want to do it, but I think you'll be surprised how much using the timer will cut down on that kind of thing. Put five good-but-not-great prizes in the top five slots and people will have no choice but to finish when they finish and hope they get the prize they want. (If you put your best stuff in the top slots people will create mules, mules and more mules until the five top times in your quest are Guests 5555551, 5555552, 5555553, 5555554 and 5555555.) If you fill up enough slots everyone should still get a prize - I'm sure you have a feel by now for about how many people can do your quest in a given amount of time - and you can just re-start it every day the way you've more or less been doing all along. You worked hard on that quest, and I can tell you had fun making the room. Don't let a few bad apples ruin it for you!

This was not to be a giant problem, but a giant quest.

I wanted a nice way to give away all of my belongings and to make it fair to all.

I needed to rethink my methods.

I will restart the quest, but the truely rare will not be in the quest any longer. I will look for charitable or kind acts and make a request for a trade. I will attempt to gift those that are working for a better VMK. If this sparks a sudden flux of kindess, I am all for it.

In the mean time there will still be good things in the quest, just possibly not things worth waiting for. Most of the prizes so far have been worth a 1000 credits or more. I will try to stick to this, and most likely not remain in the room once it has started.

As to the point of only one person saying thank you, this is not true, many have said thank you and I greatly appreciate that. I was surprized that I had not heard from any but one who had won what I consider a big prize (I think this is where the confussion was). They were probably just too excited.

So the quest is on, but in a different format. Get it while you can and share your spirt of community and friendship with as many as you can.

I played your changed quest yesterday, many thanks for my prize. It was either a Halloween 06 or Halloween Quest pin. I am sorry that the cheaters found a way yet again to be able to choose their prize, although I am stumped as to how they did this because it took me a long time for the rides to load :confused: I had to reboot the computer because of that, so my sister ended up in the last room on the last question when you terminated the quest and missed out by about 3 seconds. (She had my pin instead :D )

I hope you decide to reopen your quest (as others suggest maybe change the last question and have it timed?) because I had great fun doing it (as did my sister). Again, many thanks :)

One thing I've done to mix up my quests a bit is put items on the far side of a monorail station... that can really change the time it takes to complete a quest depending on your knowledge of the stations and your luck at catching a train. But I never got a chance to try your quest, so maybe you already have something like that in it.

Thanks for the tips on how to change it, but I thought putting it in the last room of a 6 minute long ride would be ample. They seem to be posting sentries to watch and report progress now. No matter, please enjoy the quest.

Oh, good, I'm glad you're continuing your amazing quest. It made me profoundly sad to read that bad behavior forced you to close it. I know you put a lot of time, effort, and creativity into making this for all of us to enjoy. It would be such a shame for greed and bad behavior to ruin something so wonderful.

I had been considering doing a similar quest (but on a much, much smaller scale - my prizes would not be so grand), but your experience has been an eye-opener for me. I'll have to really think this through.

That's his main account, and he had another account signed on which was used as a character in one of my rooms. While both accounts were on, he saw that this wonderful quest was open, and decided to play it while the other account was in my room. While on the quest, the account in my room disconnected causing the messed up type. No mule was used on the quest, and I think you shouldn't accuse people of something unless you know the entire story.

Not all people on VMK are dishonest, and use accounts just to obtain items and take advantage of people. The person you are accusing of using mules wouldn't take advantage of anyone.

I am familiar with the type problem. I think it has happened to most when we try to do more than one thing at a time or be more than one place at the same time. And I don't feel any need to explain when I'm not doing anything wrong. :) Sometimes things can appear a certain way depending oh how you look at them. I choose to look for the good instead of the bad. :) But's that's enough off topic discussion for me. Back on topic: I still think this is a great quest and the quest start room is a very original design for a castle and looks great and the room is very player friendly. That's why I nominated it for best quest and I think everyone else should too. :D

My font looks like that when I use explorer window that doesn't mean it's a mule. I only play my main character in explorer so I can get my daily credits on VMK Pal.

GPDot sorry for all the trouble you have had. I had the distinct pleasure of going through a couple of your rides. Very creative I must say. I have also enjoyed your costume designs. GPDot sorry for all the trouble you have had. I had the distinct pleasure of going through a couple of your rides. Very creative I must say. I have also enjoyed your costume designs. Thank you nickky37, I have changed the quest so that the more rare items are no longer in the quest. There are good things like pirates, quest items, and most prizes are worth about 1000 credits.

The rarer will be gifted upon acts of kindness through out the park. I was lurking a bit last night and was able to gift 3 people for answering questions for others who asked and generally being good citizens in VMK.

I hope you get a chance to make it to the quest, and thanks again.

GPDOT rocks!! Not only was the quest actually fun to do, and the prizes amazing,, but i have had a lot of fun just hanging around in the room, talking to people. I am so glad he did this:)

it seems a little difficult with all the dreams campers to see the things you need to pick up

lol well i went in and the kiosk is dead ( all prizes gone ) I was a second too late I was told, LOL

The quest kiosk is loaded with another 200 prizes and I am open for now.

Thought I had better post something before I get accused of not playing fair: Yes, both of my characters are in the quest machine top5, however, my sister has tried twice to do this quest but it has always finished before she could complete it because it takes so long for our computer to reboot/log back on. I had two characters on for this dream event, so I let her "borrow" my old character to play this quest - the item she won was transferred to her account afterwards (as was the matterhorn pin she won from the ride - she was thrilled about that, lol). We both won the Alice Shrub ;)

Great quest :) the clovers almost drove me crazy :) :)

It has been a great quest and one I have thoroughly enjoyed playing. I shall try to do it for the last time tonight, but I hope it is slightly earlier as 5-10pm VMK is 1-6am for me (just a little bit to late, lol). Thanks very much for doing this gpdot, it has been fun :)

As of this point I have had over 2000 prize winners (Most getting more than one item unless it was rare, and in some cases they got more than a single item too).

All of them being either rare or in the vicinity of 1000 credits worth. Some of the rare were entire outfits or entire pin sets; as well as about 10 bat magic pins.

By my calculations this is the equivalent of more than 2 million credits worth of prizes.

I hope everyone had a chance to enjoy the quest. I don't think another like this will happen for some time.
