I know there had been some... Rants? about the new SWB Game, but here is the OFFICAL news on it, it will be coming out around october. I had taken out the names because you never can be too safe on the internet.
The Look of Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron
Hello readers! I’m __________, lead designer on Renegade Squadron. Apologies for not posting here before, we’ve been rather busy at Rebellion what with bug-fixing and general playtesting -- the end is in sight now, however!
I, like the rest of the development team, have been keeping an eye on various forums and community sites, and reading your opinions about Renegade Squadron with interest. There are two recurring criticisms that I think are unjust, and I’d like to redress the balance here.
Firstly, some people have commented on the low framerate in many of the videos released thus far. These videos were taken using early development builds -- the game has since been vastly optimized, and we now have a good, steady framerate.
Secondly, some people have commented on the visual quality of Renegade Squadron, saying that it compares poorly to the original Battlefront II on PSP. In fact, Renegade Squadron boasts a longer view distance, higher resolution textures and better lighting, as you can see from the comparison shot. Hope that reassures some people!
Why a PSP exclusive? Not too mention a star wars game? Was it ever considered for other consoles/handhelds?

The PlayStation platform has been a great platform for Battlefront, and we have always felt like this platform delivers on the Battlefront experience of being able to play the classic Star Wars battles any way you want (and now anywhere you want and with anyone you want!!). We are always looking into how we can deliver that experience to more consumers and once we feel that we can deliver an experience worthy of Battlefront, you will see it on retail shelves.
I will be getting pictures, but for now, talk about this.. i know this will get some peopel WITHOUT PSP's Angry, but you never know? i doubt sony will sell the Battlefront Rights, but you never know? i belive it will come out as planned, an will be a great hit too all who love the Playstation like me!
