Anyone else a CF fanatic? I watched a bunch of games today inbetween looking for hosts xD

Colorado is my team this year. The interception at the end was amazing. Anyone else watch the game?

Also, the Appalacian(sp?) State game was amazing. I still am in shock.

Post here if you watched any games.

Well, the only game I watched this week was Notre Dame vrs. Georgia Tech. (I'm a huge Notre Dame fan.) They lost 33-3. I'm beginning to question what they can do without Quinn and all the other guys that went to the pros/other careers.

This could be the first year they don't lose a bowl game in like 10 seasons. Unfortunately for them, they won't win one either.

Taking a look at there schedule...

2 Sat., Sep 1 Georgia Tech L 33-3 L

3 Sat., Sep 8 @Penn State 6:00 PM ET L
4 Sat., Sep 15 @Michigan 3:30 PM ET L
5 Sat., Sep 22 Michigan State 3:30 PM ET L
6 Sat., Sep 29 @Purdue 12:00 PM ET Possible Toss Up
7 Sat., Oct 6 @UCLA 8:00 PM ET Possible Toss Up, I'll say L
8 Sat., Oct 13 Boston College 3:30 PM ET Possible Toss Up
9 Sat., Oct 20 USC 3:30 PM ET Hmm... L
11 Sat., Nov 3 Navy 2:30 PM ET W
12 Sat., Nov 10 Air Force 2:30 PM ET W
13 Sat., Nov 17 Duke 2:30 PM ET W
14 Sat., Nov 24 @Stanford 3:30 PM ET W

Thats four definite wins... and 3 possible wins. However, I definitely see them losing at least one of those three games, so the most they can win is probably 6. Can someone say... Coaching Change?

Wow. LSU is just amazing. They should definitely be the new #1 after their incredible performance against VT last night. 48-7 over the supposed top defense in the country? Just incredible.

Boy does my Gator defense look shaky, terrible second half, although the first half was pretty good.

Don't jump too much. VT is overrated this year. Check Tech's first game, they barely beat East Carolina 17-7, and one of their touchdowns was defensive. LSU still looked very good, I see them and USC being in the title game.

Orangemarker
09-09-2007, 02:13 PM
We haven't seen USC's performance yet, so we don't know what's going to happen with them.

I can see LSU and Oklahoma going for the title game.

monkeyfunkychunky
09-09-2007, 03:41 PM
The score was 33-3 Yeah, you're right. I didn't see the last touchdown, it was my birthday, so I had guests.

Orangemarker- Or you could be right, they don't really have any threats this year. They lost Quinn, Walker, Samardzjja, McKnight, some linemen, and a few other people. It seems Zbikowski is their only big threat this year. This week, they lost again to Penn State. I went mini-golfing at night, so I couldn't see the final score. It was 31-10 or something like that when I left. Pretty sure they lost. How 'bout them Michigan Wolverines? It's the first time in HISTORY that both teams have started out 0-2. Michigan and Notre Dame play each other next week, I think that should be a good game.

ProfessorBob
09-09-2007, 03:45 PM
Ah, my team is a major stink fest this year. It's most likely they will end up being the only Big 12 team that has no wins in an entire season.

Now things are beginning to get interesting. A 59-20 score against Tennessee doesn't come from an average team. Tim Tebow is really good. Florida is really good. I think its time to get excited.

Did anyone see the Notre Dame vs. Michigan game. From the first play of the game (Notre Dame's QB, Clausen missed the snap and the ball went back to the 1 yard line), I knew that we were going to lose and lose very bad. Michigan didn't really have to do much to beat us.

As usual, we will see our usually powerhouses like USC, LSU, Flordia, and some of the other usually schools dominate their conferences and make a bid at the national championship game.

You know if LSU and USC go to the National Championship game, it is going to be played in New Orleans which means LSU is going to have a HUGE home field advantage and will definitly give them some sort of edge in the game for sure. Same goes for if Flordia is in it, it won't be as much, but there will still be a huge edge for that team.

Orangemarker
09-16-2007, 07:12 PM
Yes, they'll be crushed. There are 4 powerhouses ATM that I think will be in the top 2 bowl games(not aware of what they are)

Oklahola, LSU, USC, Florida.

09-25-2007, 10:34 PM
Heh, my team's Iowa State. I've had season tickets to all their games for as long as I can remember. Right now, we are 1-3, our only win to our rival the Iowa Hawkeyes (a decent team.) I am thinking we seriously won't have any wins because our schedule is very difficult:

(#22) Nebraska @ Nebraska
Texas Tech @ Texas Tech
(#7) Texas @ Home
(#4) Okalahoma @ Home
(#13) Missouri @ Missouri
(#25) Kansas State @ Home
Colorado @ Home
(#14)Kansas @ Home

Hmm.. it's not looking so good for them Cyclones... (I'd like to see Wisconsin try their schedule!)

Orangemarker
09-25-2007, 10:40 PM

09-26-2007, 03:36 PM
Guess I'll get into the discussion here and support my favorite team -- WEST VIRGINIA UNIVERSITY!! They are favored to win the Big East conference this year. Although they might not make it to a National Title, they are still contenders and have a couple of Heisman Trophy hopefuls by the name of White and Slaton, and they are just juniors. So far they are undefeated and with So.Florida (23) up for this Friday, it should be a good game. They are right behind Gator's heels and sniffing.

TheFireworkZach
09-28-2007, 11:59 PM
Oh man, I don't even want to say the name of the team I like as we lost probaly one of the best wide reveivers in the country to baseball and our whole offense went to the NFL.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish..

This season has been an interesting one so far and even though I knew that the Irish wouldn't be nearly as good as they were last year (maybe 7-5, 6-6 sneak into a low key bowl game) they just haven't seem like they can win anything scoring their first touchdowns 1/3 into the season.

This team right now is just looking like a Junior High Flag Football team and if they keep playing the way they do, they might share similar records too. :/

Oh well, atleast I'm loyal.

GO IRISH! BEAT PURDUE!

TheFireworkZach
09-29-2007, 04:21 AM
Yes, if you don't spend your Saturdays glued to the TV, then there are some major issues that we will have to go over some time.
Yeah, I think the O-Line is a major part of the team and if that isn't good, then you will not have any good offense going on since your QB will be very rushed and we are also very bad in the QB area, although honestly, we were never excellent there, Jeff did a great job at WR last year and was the glue for the team.

- Zach

Orangemarker
09-29-2007, 03:15 PM
You have a great QB, but he's always scrambling or hurried because the O-Line falls through.

45 minutes 'til CU-Oklahoma

TheFireworkZach
09-29-2007, 03:40 PM
No we don't have a good QB, now. We'll have a good QB when he is a junior and more displined with the football. Clausen has made some big mistakes including the first play of the Michigan game where he missed the snap and backed us up to the one yard line.

He isn't good yet, he needs more work. The only problem is that we have no one else to put at the position, so yeah 1-11 season here we come!

Congrats to your team OrangeMarker. Colorado's win was a surprise to all of us. Now I have a reason to be nervous for when the cyclones play them. We had an unfortunate loss last night, which wasn't at all surprising, but they did but in a decent fight until the second half.

OSU may have beaten Penn State, but if you look at that team (PSU), they have not really played up to potential this year, and the QB Morelli still has not become as consistent as he should be by now.

OSU doesn't rebuild, they just restock =/. Yankees, maybe Red Sox, and the power houses of college football are all the same.

Oh and what is wrong with Cal? They just lost to Arizona State, another one of those big surprises, but still.

Woo! The cyclones beat KSU without too much effort, much to my brother's remorse. After the game, fans stormed the field rather half heartedly, just because it was out second win of the season. I went onto the field, too, and took a few pics. Definitely not as good as the Iowa win.

I am hoping to make it to the game next week, although I am almost positive OrangeMarker will be liking the turn out more than I will.

I was shocked and a little bit scared. I sure hope we don't...lose:eek:

That would sure ruin our chances for a good bowl game, and we would have to beat Nebraska(They're not that great) to actually get into one!

True that.

EDIT: We lose. I cannot believe it. All because of our worse than worse kicker.

That was AMAZING. (Like my cardinal and gold?) I couldn't believe it... we were down by 21-0 at half time, and still managed to win the game! Oh btw Orange, it wasn't your kicker's fault you lost the game. He made both field goals, but the first time, the people weren't set up correctly and the second time they didn't hike the ball on time. It was an awesome way to end our last home game. :) Our next and final game is against Kansas.... that should be exciting. >_<

I'm just tired of hearing everyone say how Nick Saban is supposed to "Save Alabama".

ASU/USC on in 15 Minutes. GO DEVILS!

I think because we are playing at home and we desperatly need this win to stay in first place in the Pac 10 (Oregon 2 loss team, USC 2 loss team, ASU 1 loss team) so I think that will give us a slight edge over the Trojans and give us a win.

I think this game will be decently high scoring and will end in a 28-24 shoot-out Sun Devils win. Just a random guess. lol

Hey... don't forget about the most important game in the Sunshine Shape. Although its not for championships like it was in the '90s, Florida-FSU is the most intense rivalry of all down here. Its not going to be an easy win for Florida, its going to be pretty tough, and I wouldn't be surprised if FSU tries to pull a Georgia on us.

Don't worry, I'll make up for it.

Prediction: Florida 52 (Tebow: 6 Touchdowns (4 passing, 2 rushing), 310 passing yards and 103 rushing yards), FSU 35

To Hawaii..

Well here comes the Cinderella story again in the WAC. We now know that Hawaii isn't a joke and can play against a real good team (Boise State), with the way the season (Many 1/2/3 loss teams) has been going, they should be able to make it into a BCS bowl game like Boise State did last year.

Or do they have to play in the bowl game up in Hawaii? It seems like they do every single year.

- Zach

Also.. here is my thought on your scores for the games tomorrow and yesterday and today.. Your so far 1-2 in your guessing with a pretty good upset (Arkansas over LSU and a pretty good game USC over ASU). I don't think that U-Conn will be shut out but playing at WVU, I say the final will be a good 35-13 to clinch the Big East. Also, with Dennis Dixon out for Oregon, they won't win that big but they will still pull off the win crushing USC's hopes of being an automatic qualifier to a BCS bowl game. I'm not the biggest SEC or Big-12 expert (Better in Pac-10 and Big-10) but the other scores look pretty good.

Well, can't wait for the games..

GO IRISH!! WE WON AT HOME!! (2-9) @UCLA and DUKE wins

I don't think he's overrated. Just turn on FSU-Florida right now and watch :D

Personally I believe it'll be Macfadden a close second to Tebow and Daniels a close third. But it really depends on his performance in the Oklahoma game. If Missouri loses, its Tebow's trophy without a doubt. But honestly, how is Tebow overrated? 51 touchdowns in one season, 29 passing and 22 rushing in the SEC. Plus he played with a broken hand for most of the second half yesterday.

Personally, I'm a Mountaineer fan and if they go to New Orleans for the National Title, I'm there with them. I think all the teams did a good job this year and I liked the way the #1 spot kept changing. It made it possible for anyone to achieve this goal.

Yes. USF beat WVU and I was there also. USF played a very good game against a good team and deserved the rankings they got for that. But, WVU has come on strong during the end and won the Big East Championship. It seems this year nothing is taken for granted and no one is safe. Yep, Irish are not doing well although I am a big Irish fan. I don't really think that whatever the QB's name (I'm still used to Brady Quinn and Jeff Smardjia of last year) is cute.. he isn't good although we did do good against some average teams in the end so that isn't bad. 3-9 isn't a terrible season for a bunch of freshman.

I see a 2 to 4 win improvment next year and maybe some more key wins, maybe even @ Georgia Tech or at home against Michigan as they will be losing some players.

As a major Irish fan, I was disheartened by there 3-9 regular season. Jimmy Clausen is his name. When we (Notre Dame) recieved him, I knew this season wasn't going to be very well. Trevor Laws did very good, I'm sad to see him leave. Notre Dame (I hope) will be better next year, look for a 6-6 season. (Just guessing)

Heisman award? Colt Breanen (Thats probably not spelled right) He led them to the only 12-0 season. They might've not had huge opponents, but the win at Boise State, increases his chances, and also the team's chances to get to the BCS Bowl (Maybe ;) )

Well, regular football season is finally over and we did see some interesting games. #1 and #2 lost it's final game Saturday and now the National Title is up for grabs. I think no team has proven themselves worthy of that title this year although a lot of smaller, unknown teams did make a name for themselves and will be looked at a little harder next year.

Being a loyal WVU fan, I was very disappointed at the way the Mountaineers played. They had the talent, the fans and the ambition but maybe their ambition for a National Title got in the way of the game. Pitt was out to prove a point and trampled the Mountaineers up and down the field. Congratulations to the Pitt Panthers. They did play a good game.
