Ok, I heard this thing about like a while ago with the Tower of Terror at WDW, the sign on the hotel use to shoot out sparks as like an effect thing for it being struct by lighting. But then they said it doesn't happen anymore because it can cause fires down below. I searched for pictures of it and couldn't find any. If anyone has any pictures of it could they please post them? I also heard that they did this when the ride was opening at night right when the ride opened but did it happen for a long time or no?

Hmm, I don't really remembering seeing any sparks being shot out. I'm going to WDW next fall, so I'll keep an eye out for it...

They dont have it now.
Not sure if they ever did because I was always to scared to ride it, and never walked down there.

In all my times going there, I never saw the sign shoot sparks at night. However, I do see the letters on the hotel flickering at night.

This is beyond me but to my understanding it was in the orginal plans then shortly taken away. I know sometimes they have the fake sparks working.

well I mean like it was only going on the first year the ride opened. They said right when the ride opened in the ceremony they did the sparks but I wasn't sure if they did that through out the rest of the year. One website said that they did.

Yeah, the sign was shooting out sparks but only for a big ceramony opening since it was WDW first large free faller. The lights flicker but doesn't shoot out sparks, even though it would be cool if it did shoot out sparks, the sign is high enough and it couldn't cause any fire.

They probably would have never done that. Thats a huge safty hazard and Disney is a super safe place. If anything at the most a light that flashed. I do know though you hear the lightning hit the cables. I didnt actually know that at first. Took me the first 10 times then i noticed it.

Omg wow! Ok so I was searching on google for pics of the Tower of Terror and I saw a pic of the ride with sparks coming out and I clicked it. Then there was a video of it! I saw it and it was so cool! It was of the opening of the one at DCA and they had such cool effects all over the building and stuff. :)

I know that they are fireworks but they are like sparks too sorta. I just meant that like they had little sparks shooting out, but I just found this because they said they did that with the opening.

Well they have a tower of terror in, DLR, DLP, and Disneyland sea and none of those rides had the electricity flying in the air and possibly getting someone hit in the head with it during their Grand Opening
