ok so last night I went into Lily's Lono Lounge and I said "Hi, Fin and Lily. Hope you're having a good evening." And guess what she (Fin) said: "Hi the. I'm having a great evening!" I know it's silly to complain about a staff mispronouncing my name, but still! I mean, they aprove them and now they can't say them?! (Correct me if They don't approve them ;)) Same thing happened with VMK_Mocha, VMK_Lion,HOST_Hula, and QA_AmericaSings..... >_< Why can't people pronounce THE_PHOENIX!?

They call you The because it is shorter then the_phoenix, like a short name your friends give you or something. They dont want to type out all the extra stuff. :D

I guess that's true... Almost all of my friends named me the, for short. Although astroshadykid DID name me Oogie.. 0_o

Think of it as staff trying to be a bit more personal with you.

Just think of how many names they must type during the course of an evening. It seemed like a shortcut to me. I wouldn't take anything by it.

Sounds like double standards to me. The orginal poster called the host "Fin" instead of her proper title "HOST_Phinny or HOST_Lily" sorry but to me it sounds like double standards, its only fair to call the host by their full title if you expect to be called by your full title (which rarely tends to happen at host events). I am sorry they shortened your title, but they tend to do that a lot during events.

Look at it this way, she call you "the" like if she was your best friend, I think thats great.

I'd PREFER that staff would call me Moon rather than, "Hi, MoomaladeMuffin!" I know my full title in VMK is MoomaladeMuffin, but I'd prefer my nickname, Moon.

I liked it when people called me zoom. It never happens anymore ever since my friend who started it dissappeared. Now it is always light, but at least not lightningzoom. I like it, but it just doesn't sound as good as it is if you say it. Occasionaly it is lightning or lightning, maybe lightning being the best, but having a nickname is good.
