Yeah, I'm almost in the trade room again for the second pin.

This event is very disappointing, I got in line and watched an average of 45-50 places tick off every half hour. Then in the last half hour saw only 15-20 tick off. I missed the room by 13places, that stinks. They need to learn to be more consistent and efficient.

I got in the room about an hour before closing and got a Tiki Opens pin. Woot! :)

Phinny was experiencing lag, and eventually crashed at about 25 past, this would be the reason behind the slow line movement at the end.

Not sure if there's much difference between the two pins ...

Tiki Room Opens was the host pin in May 2006
Surf pin was the host pin in July 2006.

I know for a fact that she will accept host pins - I have been trading the Typhoon Lagoon today and last week. Apparently the host pins are part of the series/sets, eg they are the fifth pin and the others (from Emporium each weekend) are 1,2,3,4 of the set. Does that make sense?

Thanks Jezibabe. From the room description it sounded like she would not accept host pins from the series. Next time I'll trade an extra host pin instead of one of the buyable series pins :)

I used to estimate one person a minute when I used to be able to attend these events (not this month, before)...on occasion, they could do 75 people in one hour but usually more like 60.

I am in the 160s LOL so you will probably get in but not me.

Ahh, sorry to hear you are so far back. I think I will make it in. I'm like 16th now. So what is the most valuable pin to trade for, the toucan?

I am not sure. As a family we have Toucan and Tiki Opens so I probably would have gone for Surf. I think when you go back they can be comparable so I would probably go for what you have the least of...or just like the most.

You might be in already as I was doing laundry and not at computer.

FWIW (for what its worth), I got in at 502 at around 8:48 VMK time and am now with 15 minutes left at 97. So that's not too shabby. I'm sure they had a lot of people disconnecting and leaving but still they must be moving along.

I got in line within 2 minutes of it opening and was 422 and still had 60 to go when it closed. The same thing happened last time. You would think they would have it more often or longer. I don't really think it's fair that we can't all get in once.
Oh well, guess I'll just have to save up lots of money to get the pins

this past saturday i was able to get in line and not be hugely far back in line. the bad thing was that my mom asked me to work on some pics for her, that should've been done already. the taking of the pics and getting them printed that is, she put it off til 0 hour. in doing this stuff my character was idle and of course got dc after a while. i was not a happy mouseketeer. i was really looking forward to possible getting a Tiki Opening pin. arg..... oh well.
