Guys, I have never had this problem before, ever. VMK loads just fine but up to the point where it says "Loading Character Information" it says "VMK cannot connect to the server" and to check my internet/firewall settings. I do not even have the firewall on. Anybody have any clue what to do? I can't enter the kingdom!! :mad:

This just happened to me about half an hour ago. All I had to do was try and log in again and it worked fine after. :)

This sometimes happens to me, try doing a disc clean and a defrag. Let us know if it still doesn't work :)

I've been having this problem for a day now! I tried logging in again and restarting the computer even, but nothing works. I'll try the refrag -- great idea! Also, this is a brand new computer too -- don't know if that matters or not.

Ah.. new computer! Have you downloaded shockwave and the flash player yet?

Yep, I have the shockwave and flash and everything all set. I did a disc clean and defrag and it still didn't fix it :( But my computer is going a lot faster lol. It's probably some setting I need to change on my internet settings -- I am in an apartment with everybody hooked up to the same internet. Any ideas?

That always happens to me, it's usually cause VMK's server is down... if it doesn't work after a while, then that's a problem...

Have you tried deleting your cookies and temporary files? Apart from that all I can think of is changing/checking your virtual memory.

For the virtual memory (there is probably a quicker route). This is for Windows XP:

Click Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > System.
Click on Advanced tab > Performance settings > Click on Advanced tab > Virtual Memory and change it there.

Remember if you have a split hard drive then change the settings on both for optimum memory. Hope this isn't too confusing.

Nothing worked :(

I even turned off the Firewall and opened all the ports. There was basically no protection of any kind of my computer and it still said it. It works fine up until the "Loading Character Information" screen. I can see everything before that, but then it says that it can't connect everytime at that screen.

Anybody else have any ideas? I really miss VMK :(

I'm really getting upset now. I haven't played VMK in almost a year because my computer was broke and now I finally have a new one. (No, my account wasn't deleted, I had a friend log me in from time to time).

I just went to WDW too, and anybody who can figure it out and get me in, I have some pirate codes for you!!

The only thing left for me to suggest is try unplugging and then replugging your router/modem (sometimes they can get knocked slightly). Also just try uninstalling shockwave/flash player and re-installing them. Sometimes they don't load properly. Sorry I can't help you anymore :(

Well I sent in a letter to VMK and they just replied with the 5 "Minimum Requirements" list. Big help lol. I've replied back but they will probably send that list in again. I guess I can't play VMK now :(

im having the same problem except i says it cant connect when its loading furniture data. Help!
