Hey all! I might be a new editor for DOW, if I'm accepted that is lol. I was wondering, if I use a pic of a pin, furniture, or something like that, would I need to give credit to each person who made the pics of the items, or just the wiki?

yeah, that's what i'm planning on doing, but didn't know if i had to give it to the ppl who made the pics of furniture lol

If you are talking about using the photo here in the forums it doesn't matter (although we always love it when someone mentions the wiki.)

If you are talking about someone making a photo for you to upload to the wiki then you could give them credit in the "discussion" section of that particular page if you choose. Editors don't give ourselves credit when we put our own photos up.

When you upload a photo, you should also give credit to the original photographer in the description of the photo itself. We can't add that afterwards, currently, so we add credit in the talk section of the page.

This is a relatively new practice, so there are plenty of places where it hasn't been done (and some of the details of who took what picture lost), but we're trying to move to this as we can.

I'm a little confused on that, I mean if I was to take a pic from the furnishing section and was an editor for a specials list, (like I am here on the forums) I would have to find the person who made that one pic? Or just say thanks to the wiki editor's for the pics?

Sorry Priz, I am actually confused about this one :)

What I think he means is, when you click on the picture itself, it gives a info on the picture. Including who put the pic in, and what time.
