View Full Version : Vmk Tv Commercials???
VMKGuy2010 07-15-2007, 08:53 AM I was just wondering. Should VMK have TV commercials like the ones Toontown has. I think VMK could get more gamers if they would advertise on TV. If I would have saw a TV commercial about VMK when VMK began. I would have started right now. But since VMK doesn't have commercials I didn't join VMK until I went to Walt Disney World and saw VMK Central.
So, what do you think? Should VMK have commercials, or not???
BasketballFarrah 07-15-2007, 08:57 AM Yeah they should, then we can get more lag! Yay!
VMKGuy2010 07-15-2007, 09:02 AM lol. Thats true BasketballFarrah. Well there are no VMK commercials in my area. Are there any commercials in specific areas? Like around Walt Disney World? I would think at least they could put a commercial on Radio Disney, but would be better if it was on Disney Channel
aworld90 07-15-2007, 09:31 AM Nah i dont really think they should.
Toontown only has them because toontown you have to pay for and they want more subscribers. vmks just a come and go game
InvisibleSmile 07-15-2007, 09:33 AM Yea, i dont think they would have commercials either. I'm also hoping there isnt any... lag is bad enough already
Figment_Fan 07-19-2007, 04:48 AM i dont think they would make commercials because they have a lot of players already. (& of course more lag.) anyway, staff members are hired to keep vmk safe, and with more players comes more trouble makers and people who always find a way to say bad words and such... im sure its hard to monitor 5,000+ people at once!
PowerGirl 07-19-2007, 04:56 AM I don't think they would. VMK is a free game. Toontown, as it has been said already, is a game where you have to subscribe and pay for it. VMK in itself is an ad. But I have seen an ad in Disney Adventure magazines, well of course one time being when they included the 500 credit codes.
Abrahamman 01-10-2008, 09:43 AM there have not been commercials of vmk but there have been TV news reports of vmk for educational blah blah blah for kids of vmk
manunderwater 01-10-2008, 04:37 PM People don't advertise free things..
iImagine 01-10-2008, 05:14 PM Nah i dont really think they should.

You don't have to pay for TT anymore.
Penguinz 01-10-2008, 06:03 PM VMK is already overpopulated as it is. Mules, clones, and just normal players. I don't think we can handle much more as it is, anyway. It's rather hard to pay on benefits of a free game just for a commercial.

What use is it to advertise on TV when the VMK server/servers can't handle the amount of players now. Until Disney whips out the credit card and buys VMK more servers, adding more players to the game won't help.
Anyway, Disney doesn't really need to advertise vmk. The players they want the most (already dedicated Disney fans) will find the game on their own. Large-scale advertising would only encourage more very casual players, who are most likely to cause problems.
sunnyskye 01-10-2008, 10:28 PM there have not been commercials of vmk but there have been TV news reports of vmk for educational blah blah blah for kids of vmk
What do you mean?
sunnyskye 01-10-2008, 10:32 PM You still have to pay for Toontown, I just checked their site...
Wildcat 01-10-2008, 11:35 PM VMK is already popular enough without TV Ads coming and going on Disney every other second.
Pinkglitter 01-10-2008, 11:39 PM They kinda do. When your on the magical express they have a commercial
VMKChrisssy 01-10-2008, 11:40 PM No. I like our some-what tiny community.
XxChrisssy
MagicMonkeys 01-10-2008, 11:42 PM I think there was a rumor a few years ago about a commercial.
coolJamz 01-10-2008, 11:42 PM Xiaolin i have an account without paying- but to do fun stuff like decorate your house and stuff you need to pay...
go figure- lol
the review was like all 7's... vmk is better than that :I

There's a comercial at Paradise Pier Hotel in your rooms at Disneyland!:mickey:
TinkTaylor 01-11-2008, 01:33 AM No No No No...... definitly not, we have way to many players on already it would just mean vmk would delete more and more people and a shorter time u can not log in until u get banned and toontown is weird btw lol and u have to pay.... :wave2:
Ali-Rae 01-11-2008, 01:47 AM Wow, a commercial.
I'd love it! Maybe my friends would understand
me more if they actually knew what vmk was
instead of looking at me crazy! lol!
Mizz.V 01-11-2008, 02:04 AM They have advertised before for VMK. In the One-Million Dreams DVD after the Cool stuff for kids they put an advertisement. It is nothing like the VMK today though, beta times I think.
soccerkid 01-11-2008, 02:12 AM there have not been commercials of vmk but there have been TV news reports of vmk for educational blah blah blah for kids of vmk
uhh what?? I learned about vmk from a TV commercial
bravenickdude 01-13-2008, 08:46 PM People don't advertise free things..
Good Point
I don't think they would. VMK is a free game. Toontown, as it has been said already, is a game where you have to subscribe and pay for it. VMK in itself is an ad. But I have seen an ad in Disney Adventure magazines, well of course one time being when they included the 500 credit codes.
But I don't think many people actually really looked on it.
PrincessSofia 01-13-2008, 11:47 PM Ladida.... You're right, they probably wouldn't advertise free things.
awsomered 01-13-2008, 11:54 PM Are you serious? We don't have to pay anymore? That's awesome! :)
I wanted to play for a while.. without paying.
Well you can play but you don't get as much as paying people like pirates online
iImagine 01-14-2008, 12:13 AM You still have to pay for Toontown, I just checked their site...
Aww, I just downloaded it.. -_-
You can play for as long as you like, but you cannot venture outside of Mickey's Toontown Central Area. They changed it to this to be more like Pirates Online.
If you pay, you can go to other areas.
It says right on their front page that you can play as long as you like.
Yazsmin 01-14-2008, 12:17 AM When they learn to make more areas for players so ppl won't get over crowded. And some to debug all glitches and lag things no commercials unless for items in vmk they are gonna sell in real
