View Full Version : Windows Movie Maker. HELP!
GreenGirlJess 06-29-2007, 04:38 PM Hey tehre.
Last night, I was fooling around with some programs and came across Windows Movie Maker.. And, I'm totally amazed by it.
I already made one little movie, but I have a probelm.
The program saves the file format as .MSWMM, but in order to upload it to any site, it needs to be in a different file format.
Does somebody know how to change the file format?
If you could please try to help me, that would be great.
Thanks,
GGJ
crushandgush 06-29-2007, 04:40 PM i have the same problem, try searching for a 3rd party program
Cakee 06-29-2007, 04:42 PM Okay. Try this. I don't know if it'll work, but it's worth a shot.
Open the file again and press Ctrl+P. [If it doesn't work, you need to change or add something]. Then you'll see a new window blah, blah, blah.
If I'm correct, it should save as a .WMA file instead of a .MSWMM.
Zebraa 06-29-2007, 05:02 PM There are 2 save options. One says Save... and Save Project... (I'm not sure, I have a Mac). Whichever one you clicked, click the opposite XD You know you have the right one when you have to go through this menu with a few steps before saving XD Sorry if I didn't help.. I don't really know which is which.
GreenGirlJess 06-29-2007, 05:07 PM After I fiddled around a bit, I noticed it was a different file format. How it happened.. I dunno, but something I did worked. Hooray.
Thanks for trying to help, you guys.
Misskayla 06-29-2007, 05:12 PM I used to have this problem. But here is what I do:
When you saved it, you saved it as a project. Meaning, it's saved on your computer so you can work on it again.
When you are done with the movie, go to File, and then Save Movie File.
That will save it as a .WMA, as most sites like ;)
Save Movie File:
1. Save it to 'My computer'
2. Enter a name for it and then put it in whatever folder you want...
3. Whatever quality..
4. And now it will be saving.
DONE!
If you want to upload it, finding it would not be so hard, just find the name you named it. xD
(LOL A BIT TOO LATE :))

PurpleMonkey 06-29-2007, 05:30 PM On one of the drop down menus on the left, there is a option to "Save to my computer". You click that and it exports the movie into a .wmv file.
PaperClip 06-29-2007, 06:05 PM In the little tool box thingy on the left, hit Save to Computer. The default settings should be fine.
neodude237 06-30-2007, 02:25 AM Under file press save movie or something, not save project, and windows movie maker is so-so, if you can try something like Adobe Premier/Premier Elements ^^
